The controller of choice for the majority of the racers involved would appear to be the high end Truspeed models - the PWM II PULSE WIDTH MODULATION, and the APEX controllers. The 2024 edition of the New Zealand Slotcar Association 1/32nd scale RTR Nationals are due to be held this coming weekend (5 - 7 July) in Blenheim in the South Island. The track involved is a large, twisting 4 lane track based on English designs, and even though I won't place high up, I am definitely looking forward to competing and meeting up with other racers from around the country.

In my racegroup GT3 class, or GT3 style anyway, i have most success with my RevoSlot Dodge Viper. Although my RevoSlot Marcos may beat it once i complete my tuning menu for it.

I agree with you Pete. Anyone who shows a picture of what’s for sale on EBay and includes something that isn’t actually for sale is being very misleading . I think the EBay admin team should suspend that seller who clearly has gone for the caveat emptor approach.. I.e Buyer beware. It’s just plain wrong in this environment.

Hey Pete & Rahul, Great subject matter and content 👍🏻. The hobby is many things to all kinds of people. We all get something from it. I’m not sure I’ve seen ANY kit manufacturer give clear instructions on how to build the kits.. Not a problem if you’re experienced in plastic kit building,but if you’re a younger person wishing to make your own car.. that could be a problem and put younger enthusiasts off building the kits. Add to that the potential set up costs of preparing the models spray booths, paints, decals, air brushes, dryers, etc. It would make so much sense for ALL manufacturers to include instructions… just saying….

Hi Pete I am not sure that you are right about the home operator I mostly race by my self because where I live there is to far to a club so I tune every car to be fastest on my Scalextric and Policar track and it goes for thunderslot, NSR, Slotit, Racer, Scaleauto,Revoslot all with out magnet. Scalactric I do out of the box for familia racing and Digital all runs on 12 volt and then i put the cars up in categories Gt3 Can Am F 1 Slotit group C and so on and find the fastest car in every category and always try to improve the slowest cars in every group.
