Tyres are so important this was a Friggen good video live in Australia our tyre compounds are shyt here my buddy and I prefer a rubber compound tyre and we have been chasing tyres fir Friggen ages so hopefully we can find a tyre that works on our Carrera track . Thanks mate 👍
I use Urethanes on my routed wood track. I love them! Easy to true and stick well and I can use them in combo with rubber. It's kind of sad that I have to buy tires for every new car and a chip, but I suppose it's a small price to pay for a nice running car and the ability to pass.
Not much enthusiasm for silicone tyres in Australia either. Our Club has found the Australian made MJK urethane tyres are the best compromise tyre on tracks ranging from wood to smooth plastic. Other after market tyres tend to run well on some track surfaces and not so well on tyres. Scalextric etc should consider providing better quality rubber tyres as standard. I doubt that this will much to the cost.
Greetings, I just got back into this hobby after many years. I looked through your video library and don't see a follow-up to this Part 1 video. Am I missing it? Thanks
@@SlotCarNewsOfficial - I want to make sure I'm getting the right size Pual Gage Urethane tire for my 1/32 scale Carrera Cars example of a couple: Lamborghini Huracan #563 and #16 KTM X-Bow GTX cars. Thank you kindly
Hi Dave, great information on the tyres, I us MJK tryes . Which find run great , however like you said this not about which is the best to use great review thank you regards rhys watsonia Victoria Australia
What one use to put rubber down on the track? By the way this video is very interesting👍🏼 I’m new to the hobby so just trying to educate myself thanks 🙏
Home carrera digital track. For fun with kids. the stock tires are rocks or they did same as that destroyed rotted tire you have in video. i have a table of all the cars and the mic'd sizes of each but sadly those sizes and the suggested PG tire on carrera slots dont make any sense. not happy and all these cars having mostly different sizes is hella annoying. did i mention that many Carrera stock tires are out of stock so i have cars down unable to run b/c i cant figure out what option tires they can use and stocks are outta stock. not to mention some fronts are rotted. :/ -U10

This tire selector works very well. It is a great help, I use it even though it is not viable for me to buy tires at a USA store.

Pity Scalextric don’t fit decent tyres and add a couple of £ to the price. My Scalextric Lotus 72 is undriveable on my mdf circuit.
Agreed they are too hard.
