    This technique is so great and really helps to break up the muscle tightness, especially after arm workouts. It also has a complementary effect with your excellent self-massage videos that help relieve tennis elbow and golf elbow. Thanks a million, Rachel!

    Today I was trying find something to help with my right arm the muscle feel stiff and it hurt like stingy feeling
    I had my lymph nodes remove from breast cancer I had
    And I was doing well with all exercises and dry brushing and then radiation swell my arm again
    I kinda did the exercise but got lazy on them
    And I was not getting better
    And then I got frustrated that I couldn’t go back as much I did exercise
    And I try this tonight and I done it twice and I feel the difference a little
    I’m keep doing it until my arm is better in movement

    Is the direction of hand movement during massage ( that is, massaging either from elbow towards the shoulder joint or viceversa) important or any of these direction of movements
    can be chosen.

    • @rachelrichardsmassage9660
      @rachelrichardsmassage9660  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Excellent question! It's great to do both directions. That way, you stretch the tissue in both directions. When you do active release, working towards the moving joint will be a gentler stretch than moving away from the joint.

    • @rachelrichardsmassage9660
      @rachelrichardsmassage9660  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your request. Our triceps are almost always a weaker muscle. We are flexion dominant, and our daily positions and movement patterns don't rely very heavily on the triceps. Normally, I encourage strengthening the triceps, instead of releasing.

    how often can you do this daily or weekly

    • @rachelrichardsmassage9660
      @rachelrichardsmassage9660  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. If there is no inflammation, you can try the massage once a day and monitor your response. If it feels good and you're tolerating it well, you can try twice a day. You can also take a couple of your favorite techniques and do mini-massages several times throughout the day. You can then taper off as it feels better, and do the massage once every 1-2 weeks for maintenance. The general rule of thumb is, listen to your body. If it feels good and you're making progress, you're doing it right.

    Hello! I'm a pianist and am in a lot of pain. I started pain-free since I was a kid, but now I've gotten to a point I almost can't play like my former self.
    The points I'm tense in are my lower part of the biceps and the part between my shoulder and armpit. The bigger problem is my arm feels too heavy, unsupported. What shall I do? I feel the problem is deeper in my case (than a sore biceps).

      If you are experiencing pain, you need to lighten your pressure or change your location. If it's "good pain," which can be an intense sensation of pressure but also a significant relief, that's beneficial. If your pressure is making your muscles tense up, you need to back off.
