Something to note. I've had the "3rd place" keyboard for exactly 2 years and 2 months now, and the battery doesn't hold charge and needs to be plugged in to work longer than a few hrs. I'd say pretty heavy use but not abused, 5-6 hrs per day. I guess you can tell why I'm watching keyboard videos, eh?
Amazon currently offers the Arteck HW192 wireless keyboard with the MW162 mouse as a set. The keyboard is aluminum, feels solid without hardly flexing. The edges feel sharp, however. That's the only thing I don't like, but it's not a deal breaker by far. The Arteck MW162 mouse isn't wide like the mouse shown in the video. This Arteck mouse is smaller and shorter, tracks on almost any surface, also has quiet clicking and smooth scrolling. Nice. Most hands probably fit over it without the palm touching. Feels great after getting acclimated a few minutes first time. The battery life is phenomenal on both. When the keyboard or mouse stops working I sometimes think it's broken forgetting it has a battery!
Thank you for a review that doesn't even mention MS Surface or Logitech MX. Exactly what I was looking for - a decent minimalist keyboard for minimal dollars.
I've been looking for a new keyboard to replace my old Razer Blackwidow, and these all look like good budget options! Curious to research some of these further
Hopefully it was helpful. I'm kind of weird in that I use the right shift key a lot. Most of these were really good if you don't use the right shift very often.
Man, it was so long ago, I'm not sure. I've also never owned the MX keys myself--just tested them in stores. I was never really impressed with the MX Keys, so I never bought them, but I know a lot of people like them. Since they're all membrane keyboards, they all feel relatively similar, but my guess is that Artek is going to be the closest in terms of feel. Either way, it's going to be a good experience. And I'd still be using it if I hadn't switched to Mac for my daily computing.
Bought a Seenda aluminum rechargeable keyboard from Amazon, lasted a year. Then it started to type ‘ by itself like a crazy man whenever I use control V. From the reviews I have read, this is a common problem with these keyboards. Exterior build quality usually are above average to excellent, it’s the internal components are crappy.
I’m losing my mind. I had an old Chinese enermax keyboard. It had laptop style membrane keys, really short activation and I used it for about 5 years. Then I switched to a Kensington, same type of keyboard. Used that for 5 years and I cannot find any similar keyboard now! They’re all bleddy mechanical!! I have tried two mechanical ones and the key height, travel and obnoxious clicking noise REALLY bug me. Seems like no one is building basic low profile wired membrane with key rollover anymore
I'm planning on doing a follow up to this one with smaller layouts, like 75% or smaller. Maybe I can find some that aren't all 100% and that might give you more options.
@@nerdyneighbor I dunno man, you’re into some pretty specific tech BDSM if you’re taking on that challenge. But I’ve subbed and will await the results. Goodluck!
I've significantly changed how I type since this video, but at the time, I really only used the right shift key. It's weird, but that was how I did it, so that made an impact in how I decided which was best.
Mechanical keyboards are cool, but holy shit my misphonia gets so triggered when I hear the clickety clack. I tried convincing my gamer/producer side that I need a mechanical keyboard because it's cool but nah man I just need a damn keyboard which doesn't make me wanna rip my hair out. On another note, nice video! XD
Great reviews on the keyboards themselves but, I don't understand your point, of not liking mechanical keyboards because of "minimalist"? Although chunky, most mechanical keyboards takes up much less desk space than all the ones you showed here due to their layout. Also, you can get them with silent switches. Again, great reviews, but I think your statement is giving the wrong impression of mechanical keyboards to those that are unfamiliar.
I have a mom that when she got a new computer, had a similar sort of view on it. We looked at a couple different mechanical keyboards and she said she didn't like how large the keycaps were, she didn't like how clicky the keys were, she wanted something similar to what you would find on a macbook or laptop keyboard. While it's appealing to some people, others just don't like those aspects of mechanical keyboards.
@@reladox8517 And that's fine to not like them for those reason. But he's making claims such as machanical keyboard taking up more physical deskspace, as well as bringing up RGB which is irrelevant since you can turn it off. My point being is that, someone that would have otherwise like mechanics keyboards if they dive into it, would now ignore them due to his harsh statements.
ngl I think you could do better. having a numpad or a nav cluster is a bit more than you would need on a day-to-day basis, plus they're bad for ergonomics. if you're using a mac, consider buying a secondhand apple magic keyboard, they're like $20-$30 and for that price you can beat them. for windows, consider the Logi K380s, you can get them in graphite or "tonal white" but they have a very good typing feel and are really good price-wise.

That's what I love about battery powered vs charged devices.
I need to do another take on this video, get some updated models.

No backlight?
does anyone know backlit keyboard compact design numpad and under 50 dollars/euros
Please, I would like to know if these types of keyboards also work connected by cable or if only wirelessly.
Clean content, so underrated
Any of those keyboards has back-lit?
It would be nice if you can review keyboards like this but with backlit
Good idea! It wasn't even really a consideration for me, and it just so happened that none of the keyboards were backlit.
Did you check Microsoft Surface Keyboard already? I heared that one is nice too.
4:30 - 4:39 That curiousity 😂
in terms of typing feel, which would be the closes to the MX keys?

Thanks for this video.
awesome video serisouly man
Thanks, my guy!
Does the Arteck have a caps loch light?
Oh man, I can't remember, and I ended up selling it. Still a really great keyboard, though.
Any idea what's the max travel distance of Arteck keyboard?
all i need is a slim membrane tkl. only found 1. price is extreme.

THANK YOU! I've been looking for a keyboard but gosh I hate those bulky clickity annoying keyboards
Glad you found it useful!
Thanks, man! You saved me.
u should try cougar vantar ax black
THANKS FOR THIS REVUEWWWWW!!

Your baby is so cute.
why the fuck we dont have a TKL non-mechanical keyboard for windows !
Thnx for this

need sound tests...
he really needed that left control button for Shift + Ctrl + N

BEUTIFUL REVIEW
Thank you, my friend!
Very interesting video. However I was expecting frameless keyboards in your list.
That’d be a good one to try. I think I might do more videos like this and try different things like that.
The Microsoft Bluetooth keyboard is another great keyboard, cheap but quality product.
That's good to know! Thanks.
If you have the money, shell out for a logitech mx keys for the best scissor keyboard experience
@kairyon Aznable: Those are wireless only. Get a wired Cherry Stream with scissor switches.
@@echt114 Im all no wires life. Yes i know the downsides but thats how my use case works.
Thanks man I wanted a new keyboard for my laptop I'm using and I really wanted something less fancy, non gaming, and durable.
Small arrow keys eliminate those keyboards automatically.

If only these boards had a lower latency so they could be used for games as well 😔
If they only were backlit.
