  • In this video talk about my experience when I'm having what I believe as hypomanic episodes. This is only my experience with hypomania but I anted to share to hopefully give some insight on what it feels like. If you find the video useful or interesting please share your thoughts
    Peace and Love
    Welcome to my channel Lifting out of the Lows where I share and document my experience with mental health and depression. I hope from sharing these videos and my experiences I'm able to help people along their own journey and make it somewhat easier (if that's possible) as I talk about things such as:
    * How to stop feeling depressed
    * My experience with mental health
    * How to stop feeling anxious
    * How to improve your mental health
    * My journey through life
    * How to take action
    * How to be happier in life
    I haven't got it all figured out, far from it. We're all on a journey that one never stops learning from but by creating these videos my aim is to help people and start more of a conversation around mental health. If you like the videos like, share and all the rest as the louder the message I'm sure the more people will benefit

    Hypomania is not so much problematic for me, its the depression that follows. Hypomania is just part of the problem

    Due due work-related reasons I’ve had to re-write this note to avoid having it all out in the public domain. I’ve had a few strange episodes. Only once I ended up in the hospital for observation. I wish I could figure this out… 😊

    Recognizes this very well in this. But difficult to define what is hympomania or what is to just feel a little tagged and motivated etc. But as you say getting to know yourself and what triggers one is important! At the same time, you do not want to stop the feeling because it can be nice to ride out. Do you feel that you crash after an episode?

      I tend to find I do crash but not straight away. It’s a gradual drop usually but by taking action such as meditating and doing calming activities it seems to not make the crash as hard and pace things out a bit

    I compare my hypomania episodes with yours and I can only agree. I was nodding all way thru the video. I track my moods with a Bipolar tracker app for weeks now (since I joined therapy) and I´ve noticed I cycle pretty regulary (4-5 weeks off calm, than 3 days of panic attackts and anxiety after that two days of hypomania [sometimes they switch]) and I am glad cause I can prepare my loved ones (for ex. my roomie, so she knows what its going on). The only difference is that I do not quite enjoy them and I am pretty worried when its coming. I do things I wouldnt do and that causes wierd and most of the time awkward situations. I was wondering... could you film a video about cyklothymia and relationships? How does that affect them? (I´ve met amazing man a year ago when I wasnt diagnosed yet and it kinda freaked him out so he ended things after the first cycle)

      Thanks for the comment and sharing your experience, it’s insightful knowing people have a similar experience in some ways. I’m sorry you have a more negative experience with the hypomania but i hope in time it will become easier to manage and I’m sure it will. Awareness is always the first step in my opinion.
      Ill make a video about cyclothymia and relationships. Great suggestion!
      Don’t worry about the guy who freaked out. Plenty more fish in the sea and if it freaked him out you can definitely do better!

    I’m still waiting for a firm diagnosis but I can relate to what you are saying in the video.

      Thanks. The highs are always great but short. It’s the low points that are the battle for me.

      I understands but remember your mind can always be stronger than your feelings
