Too often people stay silent in their struggles due to fear: fear of feeling like a failure, fear of rejection, fear of being judged, or fear of the unknown.Jerome's story is all too familiar to approx. 72% of males in the United States who don't seek mental health treatment, with the percentages higher for African American males. In this episode Jerome discusses what it was like for him dealing with work stress, toxic relationships, impulsive life decisions, military life, unsupportive environment, stigmas, anxiety, and depression all while attempting to solve issues on his own, and where it led. Jerome describes hitting rock bottom with a mental break that almost cost him everything. He reached out to a friend who could connect him with help and since then he has thrived. He shares with us the fear of seeking help, the most effective skills and tools he learned, and how his life is now all from making 1 phone call. If you are struggling and need help there are resources for you, including Traumagility. Make the call we are on standby and ready to help. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency dial 911 and the operator can send support immediately.
