I can see why they made it. It’s so tiny and for those who don’t like the big screen it’s perfect. I have the 12 pro max because I have huge hands though
I think a lot of people don’t interpret its use the same way Apple intended it to be used. To me it seems like a really good way to extend the life of your battery for a day trip, as opposed to a way to charge your phone. An external battery you would take with you on a day out and when your phone is starting to get low you plug it in a quickly top up your phone. With this MagSafe battery I would see myself leaving it on the phone all day so that I can get 8+ hours of screen time rather than 5, and because it’s constantly on, the slow charging speed isn’t a concern and if anything it’s a feature. The phone won’t heat up in your pocket, being uncomfortable, and it will be more efficient in its transfer. If anything, I would like to see a thinner version which is even more pocketable, that way it’s basically no different to using the MagSafe wallet.
exactly this. people are too used to the big power bank with cord ( think coachella / festivals peeps lol ) they're like expecting that super fast speed and massive mAh for the price.
People like the mini because it fits in your hand well, doesn’t take up a massive amount of pocket space, doesn’t cost over $1000, and doesn’t look like you’re talking into a slice of toast when you hold it up to your face.
I'd rather have fast charging powerbank 😂, man powerbanks have gotten way more compact. the powerbank i have, the Aukey XD-12 is just about double the Apple battery pack's thickness but it comes with 10,000mah so it's way more practical
I’ve had it for 3 days now and im not too big of a fan. It’s definitely lightweight and not much of a disturbance but if im using my iPhone while charging it will only stay on the same percentage the whole time.
Ok so I have a 12 mini and literally bc I was tired of having a big phone in my pocket all the time, I have my iPad if I need a big screen and when I’m out or at work I don’t need to be in it long enough that a big screen is necessary. Even when I am on it for a long period of time which is when I play Pokémon Go my issue is battery not screen real estate. With that being said my question is this…I got the mag safe battery charger, is it normal that while playing Pokémon Go it doesn’t charge but actually still loses charge? I’m beginning to feel like this battery pack only is good to charge your phone when not in use…what do you say?
The lack of wireless charging capability is a real bummer. With the Smart Battery Case it basically enabled me to never have to think about charging or battery life, just lay it on the wireless charger every night and that was that. Id also wirelessly charge both the case and my phone while driving / commuting. Both are not possible with this. I think they took one step forward and 3 steps backwards with this one unfortunately.
@11:30 Made the mistake of getting the iPhone 12 mini? Dude that is such a biased and totally unfair analysis, you can’t just bashed on the iPhone 12 mini solely because of “poor battery life.” I get around 6-7 hours of usage, it’s not that bad. Stop gaslighting the 12 mini ffs, reviews like this is the reason why the mini line is getting cut off.
I was having an issue with it basically not charging my phone while I was using it and it wouldn’t come up as the MagSafe Charger in the battery widgets but after updating to the latest iOS it works perfectly fine, although it’s charging is still slow.

It’s a battery extender not a charger. Your supposed to use it when you hit 50% and it’ll keep you going longer. Takes my IPhone 12 Pro from a 9 hour battery life to 33 hours. I bought it yesterday. Zero regrets.
@@danielwmay I just don’t trust 3rd party stuff. Some people I know have had 3rd party chargers damage their phones. I’d rather go first party and know that it will be fine. Anker is pretty poor quality. I gotta 2 in 1 charger from them a while ago and it’s pretty jank.
@@vegito1012 okay I been looking at comments for anyone talking about the anker vs Apple. You make a great point, I’m going to purchase mine from Apple now
As cool as it seems, I don't think this would replace my powerbank. It's a bit bulky, so I wouldn't keep it in my pocket, and I like having a bigger battery to be able to charge more things than just my iPhone. Plus, what brands like anker offer, you can get a tank of a powerbank for roughly that price, and for half the price they have Anker PowerCore Magnetic 5K, which literally does the same if not better at half the price.
I have the iPhone 12 mini and I love it. I use both ecosystems and it made no sense for me to carry to two huge phones with me since I also use the Samsung galaxy s20 ultra as my daily driver. That's why I went with the iPhone 12 mini.
Just get the Anker one for $40. It's black, pretty much the same size, does just fine. Also, either charger looks a heckuva lot better on the mini with the flush edges.
@@menghuizhu3391 Wired charging is still by FAR the best way to charge your device. I have no issues with it, especially when I have a long charging cable.
It’s kinda over priced. Although when you plug a cable into the battery pack while on your phone gives you just as much watts wirelessly as the MagSafe charger. Also if you plug your phone in with it your iPhone can charge the battery pack. Pretty sweet.
I want a MagSafe battery pack for my iPhone 12 mini. The battery is not bad, but I want to recharge my iPhone and that is possible with the MagSafe battery pack. I would love it if I won!
A lot of people are using this Apple MagSafe battery pack so wrong. It's not a battery charger it's keeping you're battery alive for as long as possible. Make sure you're iphone and battery pack are charged 100% than slap the battery pack on your iphone . Your iphone will use its own battery till it's on 90% than the battery pack steps in and keep your phone on 90% till it's empty than the phone is going to use its own battery again. I have an iphone 14 Pro Max and a heavy user. With this battery pack i had still 60% left around 5 pm . That's what Apple is doing. All other battery packs are there to charge your phone when it's almost empty. So thats totally different . And its bad for your battery in the end . Apples battery pack keeps your battery healthy 😉
wireless charging absolutely sucks. It’s so slow and NOT convenient. Simply just buy a power bank and cable. Charge ur phone in 30 mins vs wireless charger taking hours
I think if you are using 170% of an iPhone 12 Pro in a day; 100% iPhone and 70% pack, that means you are probably using your phone over 10h a day! You are a power user then an iPhone 12 Pro Max maybe a better choice. For most average users another 70% extra will probably be more than they need and they will probably just top up at 20% from 10% to 30% to get through the rest of the day!
It’s also heavier, bigger, and gets uncomfortably hot when charging while in your pockets. It also doesn’t have the software integration, so the phone will still download updates while charging with the Anker, making the device even hotter. These type of battery packs are meant to be battery extenders, not chargers. It’s meant to be left on your device for extended periods of time to act as a second battery until you’re able to recharge. Since it’s attached to your device for extended periods of time, it needs to be comfortable to use. I have both and I prefer the Apple MagSafe battery because it’s lighter and smaller and doesn’t get hot and the edge is more rounded so it’s much more comfortable to use, not to mention that it charges much faster than the Anker when plugged in, which is when it is used as a charger instead of battery extender. That means the Apple MagSafe performs better than the Anker as both a battery extender as well as a battery charger.

Exactly bro! if you use it right it’s dope af especially considering the fact that it will work wit future iPhones
It's not 1400mAh, since there 2 cells of the battery, it's around 2920.

mAh ain’t a measure of capacity. It’s completely meaningless without voltage. It’s 11.1Whr

Wireless charging isn't at a place right now where it's nearly as fast enough to be truly functional.
Especially when wired charging is so fast on Android side.
