My son and I just bought bikes over the weekend. He has this very bike. You really know how to ride!❣I cant wait till I can ride like you. I'm still learning how to switch gears while riding 🤷🏾♀️
@@ShruteFarms001my deal is definitely an outlier..i haven't saw another deal close to it in my area.. I think my guy just really wanted a quick sale and didn't care what he made off of it. There is a guy on reddit with one of these with almost 100k miles on the bike. So just see how well taken care of it is. Depending how nice it is and if it comes with accessories . I don't think that's a bad price tho. I have saw that mileage for around 4k..so just see how nice it is and if it is in nice shape, go for it!
@@saberxzero I agree, mine was a super rare find. It was being sold by someone older and they had it on a local site that had insanely low visibility...if they posted it on craigslist or Facebook it would have easily sold for $4k but I guess they didn't know any better. You still got a good deal bc the bike is fun and reliable. Once you own it for a few months you won't care what you paid, you'll just care about how fun it is to ride. Congratulations on the bike!
@@redfin382 yea i got it from a older gentleman too, he was so nice i didnt barngain his price(it was a great price anyways) anything to look out on this bike and what are the MUST modifications uve done to yours!
Great video! I am hopefully going to have one tomorrow, and was using your video for some last minute research. Liked and subscribed - hope to see more. Thanks for sharing.
+Sean Kerr I got my 2008 from an "older gentleman" (lol) locally here in GA. 16K miles - pristine condition and I got it for 3K. :) I am very happy but you were right there. Just shared with a friend in my scooter group at facebook.com/groups/metroatlantascootermob
Great video! To be honest i ve bought my 650Versys based on your video and i love me bike! Now i m looking to buy 1000versys, how about a video on that ? :D
Just saw one and I am going to buy it....... How love have you had the bike, and do you still have it? And would you recommend me getting one as an adventure touring bike?
I've read that this is a "jack of all trades" type of bike, but I'm honestly looking for something more of a dual sport. Can this handle dirt roads and trails? I've heard the suspension is top-knotch Edit: Awesome review by the way :)
Yea I’ve had my versys 650 (2008) for about 4 years now and regular go semi-offroading (dirt and gravel roads, potholes, small jumps, small whoops, minor hill climbs) all with it full stock and street tires, and it does very well.
To all those people saying that this guy knows how to ride. I strongly disagree. He got on the bike without holding the brake lever, so if it's in neutral and it rolls as he gets on, he's probably gonna drop it. The next thing I see is no gloves, so can only assume he's probably wearing a hoody and tracksuit bottoms or something. Then, he does this weird thing where he completely revs the tits off the poor thing. Great rider? Sorry, I'm not so sure.
@@Jj443re Because as any expereinced rider with an IQ above 75 knows the first point of contact is always the hands and a fall at any speed with no gloves means loss of skin and potentially loss of ability to ride for the rest of your life.
i kind of was when i first started riding it, but then i fell in love and think its a great bike and super fun, i would absolutely have this bike in my own personal collection and i liked it better than the 650 ninja and the 650 v strom
I own this exact bike and I can confirm how easy it is to do wheelies. I do it often without meaning to. It's got some power.
These videos are so much more informative and fun to watch than the new side by side videos where you go 25mph with your friend in the suburbs
this review is what made me get this bike. Thank you!
made my hands cold

Isn't that something you should've learned in driving school?
I'm picking up my 2008 versys 650 with 5k miles for 2500$ in 2 days and I can't wait!
Man I love mine. I have an 08 with 33k miles

Parallel twin is the correct verbiage for this bike.
Any good for a 6’4 rider?
I have one. It's not perfect but it's great fun.

do you always have a cold ?
This bike is like a baby that was born after a naked bike, sports and adventure had a threesome. love it.
Hi still on sell?
Why would anyone take this review seriously? Its basically an ad.
lol@ "might not sound like much to you, but whatta you got?" lol awesome.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have this same model in Australia.....
Best thing since they invented canned piss.
How is it off road if you have taken it there?

okay great thanks for replying. I've seen several videos with people putting bash guards/engine guards and hybrid tires and taking them out on trails!
There's a lot of info on this site. Some people have done extensive modifications and this is a valuable resource.

I was wondering how the Versys would compare to a 2007 Kawasaki 650R Ninja? Thank you.
William Thompson the versys a bit less power. But same engine type.
My Dad and I did a 60mph roll on, (07 Ninja vs 09Versys) side by side up to 100, then the Ninja took the lead, leaving the Versys behind
Verticle twin. Yamaha, Honda are using these engines
The Versys 650 has a
"Parallel Twin" engine.
I'm pretty sure that the Honda Rebels use a "V Twin" engine.
No the Rebels have the same as the cbr500, cb500f, cb500x, all parallel twins and all great motors (same motors).
wheelies are definatly important to me lol

Cringe.... Dude knows his shit. Yeah gloves makes the rider 😆 tell me your new to bikes without telling me your new to bikes.
Have you seen his 2nd channel with more than 1 million subs? Where they build very unique and even funny motorcycles?
Look up Bikes and Beards if you think he doesn't know shit...
