Ok let's resume : First thank you for video I appreciate this real test it's real life with real conditions . However there some point that it can help to accurate the test : 225/50 R15 : 0-60 : 9.68 s 205/50 R15 : 0-60 : 8.38 s Here's is the main point : in the second pass with 205 tires you haven't reach 60 in reality you reached less and that's because the golbal diameter of the wheel is less than used in first pass . So I think that the difference time between the times is less than presented in the video . However I'm pretty sure that whatever the difference , using 205 tires give you better time et that's because there is less grip less weight ( may be the grip is better in 225 to give you better power transmission in the road , but it's just only for few meter no more). Again great job thank u and next time try to use a speed meters to get more accurate results . I'm curious to know the effect of larger tires on performance .
With all said, it's what fits the driver and what he or she gets out of their car's set up. Not everyone has the same driving habits or abilities. Your videos are very well done, you guys look like you enjoy what you're doing, and the information they give allows novices to track racing the courage to get out there and go for it. Great job guys! Look forward to more and hope my daughter and I get to meet you at the track one day.
100% agree Phillip. It's all about what you feel is going to work for you, and that goes for everyone. We have commonly accepted phrases like "205's are great for 90's Hondas" and I do agree with that really, but that phrase isn't taking into account what you want to use the car for. I am still new in all this and track racing and all of this is an experiment for me. That's half of the fun of it for me, just trying to think of what will work for what I want to use the car for and making that a reality. If it doesn't work I can always try something else. Thank you for your great attitude towards this approach as well and absolutely, it would be great to me you out at the track! We'll always let everyone know through these videos when we will be going but you can also follow us on Facebook and/or Instagram because we'll be posting track day dates on there as well! Thank you for hanging out and watching these videos! -Robbie
Sweet haha! Glad you both got a kick out of it and thanks again for your input Mark! I appreciate that you can offer advice and opinions without being aggressive about it, so I like that too haha. Yep, I'm just learning as I go and trying to get everyone involved. Thanks Mark
Invest is a GPS device such as the vbox or something similar, with a high refresh rating. You will get very accurate results. The difference in this test is more due to the change in overall wheel diameter.
What about a 1989 CRX with the factory 13s? It's K24A2 powered with the 6 speed LSD. I wanna fit a 205 on it. I don't have money right now to get new wheels and I kinda like the factory look. 😂 I just want 2 wide tires on the front.
great video bro. this an awesome way for me to see how my ride will look. I have a 95 ex 2 door and will now buy the 225 tires. I dont go on the track but use my car as a daily to work and back. I care about the safety and obvious better handling of the wider tire, and the look is not bad; I kinda like the look
That's right brother don't let people who just follow the typical forum advice get ya down do what makes ya happy a real car guy See's it's not always the type of car or setup but the fact that car guys share a common interest.,and it doesn't have to be an million dollar build or what's trending that's the beauty of it. And keep up the good work yall
Nice video about difference acceleration with narrow tire i search about this subject but not take any results just i take the result with your video keep up and i will be happy if you reply me i have tire 225/65/R15*7 i will use tire 185/65/15*6.5 i get best difference in acceleration? Or i use 195/65/15*7 ? What your opinion and so thanks
I wouldn't go any skinnier than 205 . .that's enough to handle good turns without losing control, as for height that's a 2 inch difference which is a lot!! I would go 205 for handling and a inch less in height than what you got . . Or maybe 1.25 inch less height, get summer tires and check the weight of summer tires online . .you can lose some 4 pounds per tire and you will be happy with the results, please don't go 185 that's way way too skinny for turns and corners , 205 is perfect and can still dig good in a sharp turn
I was surprised with the difference between the 205s compared to the 225s in acceleration but i i do agree with ya that youll be able to carry more speed around the track cant wait to see the comparison in lap times as you continue to modify your car thanks alot for continuing to put out great content and really appreciate your videos
So I actually got some good advice to next time try this test with a gps. Reason is that the speedo is actually going to read different between the two sizes. That's something I hadn't considered. So maybe they are actually closer together than the result I got from this test. Would be interesting to try again! But thanks zachary. I really am looking forward to tracking these tires man, for real lol. Can't wait to show you! Thanks for sticking with me man, it means a lot!
Haha yeah, the black and red with the meaty tires looks pretty awesome! Can't wait to get the Eg's ride height lowered and see how that'll come together as well!
Check the video out through the link below, it's the video I reference in this episode that also inspired this episode. I weigh both the wheels with the tires on. I was surprised, you'll see! th-cam.com/video/BRKvqWhQ0wA/w-d-xo.html
hey guys, what would you recommend for an eg hatch (street usage mostly, but i like to go do some mountain touge ''spirited driving'') as wheel size, i was considering a volk racing te37 (since they are light) but i am torn about the width, what would be good for some nice cornering speed etc (again, mostly street use, lets say 65/35 towards street/racing). I am aiming for 15s 205/50, but volk gives only 15x7, should i search for 15x8?
205/50/15 is most common tire size and you can’t go wrong. 7, 8width, both would be fine. Really it comes down to the type of tire you choose that’s going to offer the grip. It’s all about driving the car to it’s max within the tires limits no matter what tire you have
i have a question i have a d15b vtec motor in my 98 ek when im getting on the gas i can shift at 7000rpm to around 8000rpm. i want to know . at what rpm do you know its time to shift on your EG and your EK (When your racing).
This is a good question man and one we may use for one of our upcoming I Refine Movement podcast episodes! It comes down to where your motor makes the most power, hp and torque. So if you can physically rev to 8000 but the peak power is around 7000, you may not need to always go all the way up to 8k. It's really kind of a long answer in my opinion but it comes down to track layout and when turns are coming up. Sometimes it's necessary to rev the engine out because it wouldn't make sense to upshift just to downshift again a split second later. It's all situational. Be looking out for this answered on one of our podcasts!
Nice vid.. I'm trying to figure out what I wanna get for my ef. I'm thinking 225.. do to the fact I'm running around 260whp it's a daily strip build. Also no idea if 225s will fit the wheel without messing with the tires shape. It's got 195s with no sidewall flex so I'm thinking 225 should be ok.
Well I have some plans for minor suspension upgrades after this upcoming track day, but as far as the major components, yes, I do have a few brands in mind for coilovers. I'm looking for something that is reasonably adjustable and will be suited for primarily track use. I don't have a timeline on that just yet though.
Refine Movement I have the skunk 2 pro series 1st gen right now but I'm looking torwards the new pro series which is fully adjustable no just spring adjustable. I love the first gen right now it rides like a stock car with it being a little lower
Thats real cool man. Sounds like they are a perfect fit for what you are looking for in the suspension, get a bit more lows but still retaining that comfort. That's great man, Im happy for you!
This is definitely a very late comment, but I’m running R888rs on the front of my eg hatch 205/50/15, they are fantastic, I love them, never broke traction in a turn, but never tracked it, only hard street turns. Also acceleration im getting traction in 2nd gear. But I’m engine swapped and boosted, much better than my last tires
Hey man, so I've read about people using 205/50's on the stock civic wheel, I'm assuming you have the Si's if you're saying it's a 15" wheel. 225 on that seems like it would be way too much though I believe. The width of that wheel is what, 5" wide or maybe 6" so that's too narrow to accomodate such a wide tire. a 225 wouldn't sit on that size wheel correctly and the handling and all would for sure be affected. That's just my thought though, do some looking into it on the forums. If you want to run a wider tire like a 225, look into getting some wider rims would be my input. All depends on what you want to use your car for man, remember, I am tracking this car, not daily driving it, so that's why I feel I want more width at the moment.
G'day Robbie Too much justifying why you are doing what to the car. I feel you should just not worry about responding verbally to comments. Instead do your thing and not worry about what is said. Keep the videos coming.
Well that's cool, thanks man. Honestly I like replying to comments though when the essentially the same comment is made multiple times on any given video. It allows me to go into explanation and I don't mind that. I like that everyone can have a voice on this channel, and that everyone's input is heard. But thanks man, I'll always do this car as I want. Heck, if I would only be listening to everyone I'd have done an engine swap first lol that's what everyone wants. Thanks for hangin around man, glad to have you here
videos are still great, doing good with the car those are absolutely my favorite wheels. awesome, il be out at sebring 9/9 and 9/10 so we'll both be tearing up some rubber hope it goes well cant wait to see the footage!
I'M NOT DRAG RACING!!!!! I'M NOT DRAG RACING!!! I WILL REPEAT MY SELF I'M NOT DRAG RACING!!!! COOL VIDEO MAN NICE WHEELS TO......THE RED EK HATCH LOOKS GOOD GOT THAT K24 FOR JUST LET ME KNOW.....KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS LOVE THUS CHANNEL.....
Haha so did I hammer my point home enough then? Yeah man, the red EK looked real cool on the 949's. The engine sounds great man, it does, but that's a long way from home for me. Shipping would be a pretty penny. I'm going to focus my money on the coilovers first, I know you're looking forward to those as well! Thanks for your encouragement, I always count on your watching and hearing your opinion now!
The wider tyre is definitely giving extra traction especially from a dig. The driving was very inconsistent with the shifts and don't forget to account for the speedo being off with different wheels so it's not fair putting numbers up on how much faster it is, definitely faster though and a good setup
Yeah, I think for next time I would do 3 pulls at least with each wheel/tire combo and then compare those times. It was also suggested to me to try a 20mph - 60mph test so that it takes the launching aspect out of the test. Using a gps app was also suggested. Regardless, it was still a fun test, but I can get more in depth with it next time.
If anyone is trying to improve speed times on stock wheel height a tire drop of about 1 inch to 1.25 inch will make a world of difference , I dropped my stock tires down a inch and it was way way better and perfectly rounded , I decided to drop them down to even smaller set up about 1.75 inches and it did accelerate easier with less pedal, HOWEVER the mid range acceleration -which is where I stay seemed a little more better with the 1 inch smaller setup, HERE is where the difference is with the 1.75 inch smaller tires it is faster at "fully floored"! So the 1.75 inch smaller tires will be faster at fully floored if that makes sense 👌
Great combo. I used to run 16x8 rpf1s with 225 and 215s and sold them to get 15x7 Advan RGs with 205 50 50s. Much cheaper tyres much more options for wheels. I find its actually just as capable and the wheels are a lot lighter. Hope this helps.
I mean sometimes yeah, it sucks when people are attacking me verbally, but no, I legitimately thought there was good opinions raised in that last video and wanted to make this one so we can all find this out together. I thought it was a great idea!
I have this same car. I bought it with 195/50/16. It could not get up a hill. Absolutely horrible. I even have the original D15B8 equipped and that being said, yeah that’s the problem. But the original 165/70/13 to this size was 2” taller. Insane. Bad idea from previous owner. So I matched it with the 92 Si rotation with a 195/50/15 but I still think the 185/50 or 195/45 might be better for acceleration and MPG but for track, 205 or 215 would be best but would need the 45 height. The RPMs seem to not be in the right spot when I shift. So in the future when I switch to a B16A with an EM1 trans I’ll switch to that rotation. But for now the 195/50/15 work really well. Strongly suggest Enkei RPF1 lite rims. But! All this stuff is up to what the driver wants. For a DD I just keep stuff to spec as the engine/ trans/ ecu setup.
I really like both sets of wheels that you have but i really like how the 949's look on the ek.... both sets really make a difference on the car and they both look really good as well.... i know the eg will look just as good when your done with it good luck... i really dig the videos 🖒
haha that's cool man! I do agree with you, the 949's look great on the EK but yeah, I do love both sets of the wheels too. Once I get the EG lowered and not looking like an F-150 ride height it should really change the attitude of that car with the 949's, so really looking forward to showing you that. Thank you so much for hanging out with me and watching these videos man, I really thank you!
With the bigger contact patch, you'll definitely have more confidence going in the corner so you can be in the gas longer. Though the slight tradeoff will be slower initial acceleration. But overall, you'll be faster on the track.
I agree Ted, at least that's my thinking at the moment as well. Always going to be a compromise isn't there? But that's the compromise I was willing to make to try to see my thoughts on racing this track through. Great input man! How's your car coming along?
Refine Movement Well I've ordered the rest of my suspension parts (a lot of Hardrace products) to update my 22yr old eg. Basically, just waiting for the donor car to be ready for sale.
Eventually you'll make more power and the car will be setup perfect. Do you have a stainless clutch line? And SS brake lines? They make braking and shifts more crisp
That's right man! But until then I'm good with experimenting with tires and all that. It's fun! I don't have stainless brake or clutch lines yet, no. But thanks for your input, I'll be looking into the ss brake lines for sure. Travis was recommending the same to me.
That's awesome dude! I've read great things about the NT01's let me know how you like them if you will. I hope you have fun! Yeah, I can't wait to get out to the Firm and test the car out. Thanks for your encouragement! You'll be seeing the videos!
Try some aluminum drag seats by jegs or summit or other. Put the 225 50 or larger on rear to promote turn in and oversteer and experiment with spacers, then keep 205 or 225 on front with narrower track width than rear. Either way, you get (less rolling resist with 205, very marginal and negligable) more control on the front and rear higher turn in speed with more precision. i would go wide body on the rear end with 15x12 weld racing wheels and P295 50 R15 on back only. Use a carbon or fiber front end with airdam. And a straight transitional spoiler on the top back aluminum. take out the inner steel bumpers. weld the body seams of the body shell. acid dip the body shell to lighten it. silica 10% with hard max clr epoxy inside and out. remove all weight cut out steel where you can first mini tub it the rear use tubular suspension joints etc. to reduce weight over stock steel mush, use coil over or coil over struts cut out the front and rear end make a modular tube frame for rear and one for front holding the suspension system. make more power. Take out fuel tank, use aluminum fuel tank maybe extra capacity only fill to what you need. replace all mirrors with carbon units. take out all inner steel body reinforcements and use ribs of carbon fiber max clr epoxy glued in to hold its shape. build carbon hatch , and front end and door skins. Or any other body panels. Use a lightweight high ratio aluminum billet rack and pinion unit designed for midget race cars. Check weight first match to weight of car. use some weld racing front wheels, use little wider wheel than tire, example p225 50 R15 on 15x9 or p265 50 on 15x11. p295 50 on 15x12.5" Awesome car and driving.
hey rob, its your fan from phx,az. hey just wanted to a give you a tip to launch your car, ' i know the eg is a track racer' LIFT the clutch peddle enough to where the clutch is bout to to engage. rev up to 3500 or 4k and release the clutch,. trust me, it will hook a lot better, so you wont be dumppin the clutch. cause that hurts the clutch & trans. will at least what i think, but try it out and let me know.
Thanks for the tip Leo! I always appreciate your input man so I'll give it a shot. I guess if my way of dumping the clutch proves anything it's that I'm for sure not in the drag racing world lol.
leoboy191 talking about preloading the clutch. You hold the e brake and bring the clutch out just enough to feel the car squat. Then let go of e brake and take off like normal. Basically you reduce the shock to the driveline. Usually you'll have to rev higher to do this. When I drag race I did this on slicks and launched at 6700rpms. Car would dead hook and book.
speedometer will show the same thing with larger or smaller tyre actual speed is not 60mph with 225 is actually 62 mph ... so test with gps will be more accurate i think
The tire also matters. The 225 50 R16 Michelin pilot sport 4S's have better grip than the whole Toyo and Falken line for street use. And u get excellent wet and dry traction , and they will last 20-30,000 miles VS changing your tires twice a year...lol
Yeah thanks for the input man! I agree and a few others have suggested that as well so I think that'll be some more testing here after the Firm. Thanks for the well wishes, hope you'll be able to come back out with us sometime. You ever get your new wheels?
Refine Movement, I haven't got the wheels I want yet... seems like every time there's money budgeted for the wheels something else comes along that requires attention and with three kids you never know whats next. I spent the summer in Arizona doing an internship, saw some nice tracks out west. I can't wait to take the car out again, thinking about going to the Firm on Saturday as a spectator, we'll see.
Bigger tires on a slow car that doesnt need 225 like the eg will loss acceleration and handling wont improve because you can get all the grip you need with a 195 if you have na d series. So by going 225 you essentially slow the car down
Well that's what I'll be putting to the test anyway ha! We were supposed to go to the track this past weekend but got rained out. We're now planning on going again in 2 weeks time. So I'll be posting videos on how the day went and what I thought of the new wheel/tire combo! Thanks for watching, be looking out for those track videos in a few weeks! -Robbie
I like the test video's. Keep these going. But there were a few things I would have done differently. Launching and 2 shifts during the test is a horrible comparison for accuracy. Do a 2nd gear or 3rd gear acceleration test from 20-50 or 30-70 or something. Much less human error involved. Also, use gps for speed since tire size affects speedo. Also, too much repetitive statements. We get it. Save the extra talking for your talk show. 18 minute video with 1 minute of testing. Not trying to hate on your videos, just some constructive criticism. Keep up the good work!
That's cool man, and thanks for your input. I know there was a lot of talking in this video but thanks for hearing me out. Yeah, could be saved for the podcast. I feel if I don't repeat myself sometimes I get a ton of questions asking me about the very thing I said, but only said once. But I hear you man. As far as the testing, thanks for your suggestions. This is the first time I've attempted a video like this so I have some good input for trying it again. I'd like to keep doing test videos like this as well, I dig it!
Well that's really nice of you to say Jose! Yeah man, I just try to do my homework and learn how to do whatever it is I am tackling, and then do it. I make mistakes, but hey, that's part of it. Glad to hear you got a car you love too! Do you follow us on Instagram or Facebook? Send me some pictures of your car there man! -Robbie
Exiting a corner can be like drag racing. Plus stopping on bigger rims/tires will take more effort earlier in the corner which will heat up the brakes more and hold the boiling point less which isn’t good either. Less brake effort/time will keep the boiling point at its lowest which is really good on time attacks when you want your braking consistency…. Consistent throughout 10 or 20 laps. Single piston brakes on Honda’s are really difficult to keep them from fading early. All good stuff!
It is! Yet they are setting the fastest lap times they ever have at almost every circuit this year. Pretty cool man. So do you have a favorite driver? That's what I want to test out right now. Like I mentioned, in my mind its about keeping up that momentum and corner speed especially for the track that I test at, the Firm. There are way more fast corners than there are slow ones so I hope that'll play out like I think it will. But also like I said, I'm no know-it-all, so I'll test and see what I think from there. Thank you so much for watching!
Would be great for Mclaren to get it back, I agree. Everyone has their favs man, Lewis is for sure a bad ass driver who keeps it together under pressure. I like Sebastian but I respect them all!
It's easy enough to get out on track if you have one that's local to you. Just need a working, well maintained car and a helmet really. That's a lot of hp you're shooting for in that engine. Think about suspension components and grip too. If you were out on track with that much hp and all season tires and stock suspension it's going to be one hell of a ride lol
not a very acccurate test... too many variables in the driving, shifting isnt much consistent or quick, also time lost in shifting too late hitting rev limit... 2nd launch seemed better so that probably added to the times
We'll see how that's gonna go. Only time I've rubbed the tires on the fenders so far is on a weird turn by me that has a pretty drastic elevation change. The firm is mostly flat, but we'll see. I for sure won't destroy them just for the sake of destroying them.
60mph on the speedometer with 225/50 is 62.1mph on the speedometer with 205/50. So the difference is less than what you measured it to. This is what I was talking about. The gearing is different and so is the speedo. Because of the difference in circumference of the wheels. Gps would be better if you want to compare the two. //Karl from Sweden
Gotcha Kalle. Yeah, I obviously didn't take that into account for this but you and someone else has pointed that out to me, so I may be doing another test with the gps or I may just go back in and look at those videos and use the different mph for each wheel/tire combo. Thanks for watching all the way in Sweden! Hello from Florida haha!
Ok let's resume :
First thank you for video I appreciate this real test it's real life with real conditions . However there some point that it can help to accurate the test :
225/50 R15 : 0-60 : 9.68 s
205/50 R15 : 0-60 : 8.38 s

However I'm pretty sure that whatever the difference , using 205 tires give you better time et that's because there is less grip less weight ( may be the grip is better in 225 to give you better power transmission in the road , but it's just only for few meter no more).
Again great job thank u and next time try to use a speed meters to get more accurate results . I'm curious to know the effect of larger tires on performance .
I love these guys attitudes like they are the most happy sounding guys in the car yt scene ... keep it up
Thats okay, your in Mexico and street racing is not illegal. 😂
With all said, it's what fits the driver and what he or she gets out of their car's set up. Not everyone has the same driving habits or abilities. Haha thanks for the shout out my son loved it. Keep up the good work, I dig the down to earth everyman and upbeat vids.

Doesn't it though? The red and the black accents are pretty cool. Thanks for your encouragement Rodrigo, I sincerely appreciate it!
225/45 r888r on 15x8=best set
How did the 205/50 look on the rim? Side walls look stretched?
great video bro. this an awesome way for me to see how my ride will look. I have a 95 ex 2 door and will now buy the 225 tires. I dont go on the track but use my car as a daily to work and back. Nice vídeo!
haha yesss more power! Can't wait to see what they do out on track, be looking for those videos in a few weeks! Thanks for watching man.
i hope so cuz my teggy is on 195s with 307 to the wheel and they just wont stick no matter what so im looking towards a 225

what offset are the wheels with the 225 on the ek? thanks
Those are +36 949 Racing wheels
Refine Movement thanks looks sick!
@@RefineMovement how wide are the 949's on the EK?
What about for dirt 205 or 225
Nice video about difference acceleration with narrow tire i search about this subject but not take any results just i take the result with your video keep up and i will be happy if you reply me i have tire 225/65/R15*7 i will use tire 185/65/15*6.5 i get best difference in acceleration? Can change Toyota Camry 215/ 60/16 tires to 225/60/R16 tires ?
whooooaa the EK looks GOOD on those 225s
Jonathan Brown hell yeah they do
Haha yeah, the black and red with the meaty tires looks pretty awesome! Can't wait to get the Eg's ride height lowered and see how that'll come together as well!
It’s an eg
I love these videos. I learn so much and enjoy the content. Shout out from Maui Hawaii 🤙🏾
Whoa super cool! All the way from Maui! Hello from Florida! Haha thanks for hangin out with me man!
205/50/15 mounted on a 15x6.5 et40+ wheel, lowered no more than 2 inches, is optimal for a daily/weekend track eg/ej/ek
Newbie to this world here. What do you think about a 225/40 r16 and 16x7's? Et38+ On a 93 del sol si.
what is the overall weight difference, and have you tired the 205/50/15 r888 compared to the 225.
Check the video out through the link below, it's the video I reference in this episode that also inspired this episode. I weigh both the wheels with the tires on. I was surprised, you'll see!

hey guys, what would you recommend for an eg hatch (street usage mostly, but i like to go do some mountain touge ''spirited driving'') as wheel size, i was considering a volk racing te37 (since they are light) but i am torn about the width, what would be good for some nice cornering speed etc (again, mostly street use, lets say 65/35 towards street/racing).
When are you going to do a suspension upgrade? And have you chosen any suspension yet ?
Refine Movement look at Ksports they have adjustable dampening at the best price. I just wish they had stiffer spring rates
Hey @Refine Movement, have you ever had the toyo r888r on the enkei 92s? i am dying to know how those tires would look on them.
I haven’t, no. But yeah, I can imagine they’d look prettt awesome!
I had 195/55/15's on my old civic could I have put wider tires such as 205's on stock rim or go wider?
Thanks for hangin around man, glad to have you here
Whty not split the differnce and get a 215/50?
Not as many tires in that size
videos are still great, doing good with the car those are absolutely my favorite wheels. awesome, il be out at sebring 9/9 and 9/10 so we'll both be tearing up some rubber hope it goes well cant wait to see the footage!
Thanks for your encouragement, I always count on your watching and hearing your opinion now!
you rock!!!!!! thanks..
If anyone is trying to improve speed times on stock wheel height a tire drop of about 1 inch to 1.25 inch will make a world of difference , I dropped my stock tires down a inch and it was way way better and perfectly rounded , I decided to drop them down to even smaller set up about 1.75 inches and it did accelerate easier with less pedal, HOWEVER the mid range acceleration -which is where I stay seemed a little more better with the 1 inch smaller setup,
HERE is where the difference is with the 1.75 inch smaller tires it is faster at "fully floored"! So the 1.75 inch smaller tires will be faster at fully floored if that makes sense 👌
Your thoughts on a 205/50 r15s on 15x7 +35??
Great combo. I used to run 16x8 rpf1s with 225 and 215s and sold them to get 15x7 Advan RGs with 205 50 50s. Much cheaper tyres much more options for wheels. I find its actually just as capable and the wheels are a lot lighter. Hope this helps.
@@fisher16v sure does! Thanks man people were telling me to go 16s 17s with a stretch but nah I like the 15s.
Keep up the good work great video
Thank you very much man!
Sounds like you're letting the commenters get to you haha ignore people you don't need to explain yourself it's your channel do your thing
I mean sometimes yeah, it sucks when people are attacking me verbally, but no, I legitimately thought there was good opinions raised in that last video and wanted to make this one so we can all find this out together. I thought it was a great idea!
Refine Movement yeah no it was good for sure for the video !
Keep up the good work.. opinions are like assholes everyone has one
Great video bro
Thanks a lot! Sure appreciate you watching
I just bought them today the 225/50/15. They are better from the 205 for sure
More grip ;)
Are they more comfortable than the 205?
Was is on a different street as well?
Both tests were done on the same street
love this channel 🏁🎌
Sweet! Thank you so much for hangin out with us!
You should drop the series one when you go up two on the width, roughly...
You are awesome..just subscribed!!!!
You should have timed how long it took to get to point A to point B with the different tires.
Try with a diffrent sidewall height like
205/50/18 vs 225/55/18
I run sept 9th here for in AZ at WHP west (CW). Can wait to break in the new set of NT01's. Kick butt at The Firm, can't wait to see the progress 👍
That's awesome dude! I've read great things about the NT01's let me know how you like them if you will. I hope you have fun! Yeah, I can't wait to get out to the Firm and test the car out. Thanks for your encouragement! You'll be seeing the videos!
Great video 👍
Thanks a lot man!
I like the 205s those wheels in general imagine the little 185 55 14s or some older 13s it would be quicker if it hooked
What’s the offset of enkei wheels
They originally come +25 for the 15x8. I had them changed to +35 to fit how I wanted them to on my red hatxh
hey rob, its your fan from phx,az. hey just wanted to a give you a tip to launch your car, ' i know the eg is a track racer' LIFT the clutch peddle enough to where the clutch is bout to to engage. rev up to 3500 or 4k and release the clutch,. trust me, it will hook a lot better, so you wont be dumppin the clutch. cause that hurts the clutch & trans. will at least what i think, but try it out and let me know.
Sabertooth_814 yes, preload. Thank you @sabertooth_814
speedometer will show the same thing with larger or smaller tyre actual speed is not 60mph with 225 is actually 62 mph ... so test with gps will be more accurate i think
How about 225 45 15?
Yeah, I’d like to get into that size next time
The tire also matters. The 225 50 R16 Michelin pilot sport 4S's have better grip than the whole Toyo and Falken line for street use. And u get excellent wet and dry traction , and they will last 20-30,000 miles VS changing your tires twice a year...lol
This guy looks like a young Rick Lax
You should definitely pick up a few mph at a lower rpm all the way to redline with the slightly beefier tire.
How about a 40-60mph pull? I think it would be a good test to go along with this one. I enjoyed this video, good luck at the Firm!
Everytime I run comparisons like these I like running multiple trials. Then you can always average out and get some more certain claims. :)
Yes, that's going to be a better way to do it, I agree. I'll be doing some more tests like this, thanks for your input man!
Bigger tires on a slow car that doesnt need 225 like the eg will loss acceleration and handling wont improve because you can get all the grip you need with a 195 if you have na d series. So by going 225 you essentially slow the car down
wow man ur right bout those tires wide tires is better for handling turns and less under and over steering more control on the track at full force
-Robbie
Shame you didn’t weight the wheels and tyres and where the tyres the same brand and pattern
I'd like to keep doing test videos like this as well, I dig it!
cool and it's funny u said on the video ur learning as u go I do the same man u inspired me to get an e.g. and do the same that's my favorite car
What in the world are you doing to that drag car🤣🤣🤣 have fun out there on the track man👍👍
lol thanks dude! You'll be seeing how it goes
This is the same thing that happened with F1 this year. They are slower in the straights but faster in the corners
As much as I may get hate for it I Support Lewis Hamilton but as a team I really like McLaren and wish them to get back to there glory days
Would be great for Mclaren to get it back, I agree. Everyone has their favs man, Lewis is for sure a bad ass driver who keeps it together under pressure. I like Sebastian but I respect them all!
wish I could track race man I love Honda's I'm buying the same e.g. that u have but I'm put a frankistine motor trying to get 320 hp
But is the wheel weight the same? 🤔😱
9:20 and 12:45 your welcome
Apples to oranges since you used 2 different tires lol
blaa blaa blaaa
You are not allowed to have your own opinion. But I am allowed to subscribed right? okay I did anyways. jajaj Good Vids.
big diffres but 225 is bether on track grip is evrything. knoks of 2 sek minimum on lap time. (sorry bad english)
Why did this video come up when I'm searching for farts?
not a very acccurate test... too many variables in the driving, shifting isnt much consistent or quick, also time lost in shifting too late hitting rev limit... 2nd launch seemed better so that probably added to the times
Just found your channel seems interesting
Rip those tires if your going to take it the track on stock shocks. It's going to rub so bad on hard turns 🤔
We'll see how that's gonna go. Only time I've rubbed the tires on the fenders so far is on a weird turn by me that has a pretty drastic elevation change. The firm is mostly flat, but we'll see. I for sure won't destroy them just for the sake of destroying them.
Whoever said a 205 is the best for a honda is trash.
Man #2 comment
60mph on the speedometer with 225/50
is 62.1mph on the speedometer with 205/50.
Yeah that was night and day on the speedometer as well as the time!
Not accurate since shifting sucks
talks wayyy too much... my suggestion is shorten the speeches by atleast 50%, or else its annoying. other than that cool stuff
let me driven the red ek lol
lots of boring talk. no story needed. all the story is enough with a maximum of 20 seconds.
Agreed. I've gotten better at making videos since this one way back when. Thanks for your input.
