Just got this set awhile ago, it's a really nice hub. I do wish the sliding bracket made the buttons even more rigid (5-10% more) yet don't see it being well just would feel even better. Not a deal breaker. Everything overall is pretty nice, and what's my favorite part is the buttons. If your using VR this is the set to use, buttons are so much easier to find then the other wheels I tried due to the arrangement and variety of types. All within roughly +/-100 bucks.
Exactly. I ordered a UniHub V2 + R300 wheel last week. Wheel way too thin, shifters not adjustable and too far outside (wrist pain) and 2 buttons on the upper clusters are mapped to the shifters and you can't change this. Oh and the QR had some play in all directions... Finally had enough after 5 years with Fanatec and it's all up for sale now. Sent the uni+R300 back and received a moza r12 + ES wheel today. The 149€ wheel feels more premium than the Unihub + R300. QR is way faster, easier and like you welded the wheel on. Love on first click-in. R12 is nothing special though. Csw 2.5 is a brilliant piece of hardware, I just got 50% more power but nothing "awesome" there. I think the CSW 2.5 was the last "German engineering" piece of hardware they released. Everything after it had something to complain about, bugs etc.
Hi! As always, your thoughtfulness and delivery are allways informative and entertaining. I have the version 1 of this hub, attatched to a 300 mm Fanatec Sport wheel. I use it on my CSL DD 9Nm wheel base, usually when driving in AC. The hub has been OK, but is nothing to get that excited about. Mostly I think the Sport wheel I have dampens out much of the responsiveness of the CSL DD. I usually drive with the McLarren V2 wheel, which I find very communicative and light. I'm going to hold off on this V2 hub for a while and see what Fanatec starts bringing to the table over the next year. I think they need to up their game to stay cometitive or MOZA, SimCube, and some of the companies are going to take a lot of market share from them. I'm relatively new to sim racing , with less than a thousand hours of drive time in ACC, and somewhere in 400 hr range for AC and iRacing respectively. With no prior sim racing experience, I'm just now getting to where I really recognize and have the muscle memory to react appropriately to what the base and wheel are trying to communicate. Thanks again for the review!
Good review. Not just tonsof hype but objective and neutral. CSL line cant be perfect due to budget cuts but it can be useful for low budget rigs or a good second drift rally wheel.
Hi, great review, but I still can't decide whether to buy this or choose Clubsport Hub v2. This is a bit cheaper and doesn't have magnetic shifters, but I'm not sure that is worth paying more.
Is this quick release the type where you slide it on to the base and twist to lock it on? Currently my rims have the collar you pull towards you to put it on and pull it off.
It was announced just agter i bought an adapter which replaces my DD1 quick Release with a 6 bolt pattern as i thought the Fanatec Adapter was way to expensive.
Thanks for the great review. I'm a GT7 player on PS5. You mention that the controls are limited on PlayStation. In what way are they limited? I'm considering buy this with a round wheel bundle or getting something like the CSL WRC or CSL P1 v2 wheel. Which option do you think will work best on PlayStation? Cheers.
Install it correctly, and I'm not being a smartass. Made the mistake myself. - Get rid of the red rubber - take out the washers - put in the hub - Put on the washers - put on the nuts I didn't release you had to get rid of the red rubber and thought it was a cushion.
WHAT??? Something new from Fanatec? Those guys are still around? I thought they closed up shop, from how quiet they've been. 😂 J/K. This mostly fixes my gripes. Although I would rather have something closer to more button pods for the Podium hub, but this'll work. Thanks.
No Hesi is not the traffic mod for AC. Traffic (online) is a feature of AssettoServer. No Hesi is a server that uses this featture + the SRP track to host servers. I feel like credit is not given where is due these days. I am of course biased towards this, as a member of the SRP team. However I am quite tired of hearing AssettoServer's hard work and our track be reffered to as "No Hesi". @@wickfut-racing
No hesi (No hesitation), a series of servers running very specific Assetto Corsa street racing highway mods. Now considered almost its own game mode. Basically driving through heavy highway traffic, weaving through cars, street racing,... Search "No hesi Assetto Corsa" and you will know.
I had no idea this hub was even a thing. I thought all their hubs were $$$$$. This changes a lot. Yes, the quick release is garbage, but I want the Fanatec CSL V2 pedals, and eventually Xbox compatibility. Ugh, these price wars are killing me.
I have a GT dd pro with its wheel, I feel like Fanatec is being lazy, there is no new wheel, They still use that awful red 3 digit led screen for indicator on the wheel. While they introduced a nice oled screen on the wheel of the gt dd pro, which make thing easier to setup your DD on the fly without using fanatec app on pc… We can do it with the 3 digit indicator but the oled one is more readable, you don’t need to remember all code names of the functions and options…
Man this should have had Xbox compatibility, they don’t offer much in terms of Xbox games in the lower price segment, especially if you don’t like alcantara.
help me decide between CSL DD READY2RACE R300 BUNDLE and McLaren GT3 V2 Bundle, they are both on the same price. I mostly do racing, but I like cruising on AC with friends every once in a while. The versatility that comes with the universal hub is great, but the mclaren wheel looks so juicy... really having a hard time deciding here.. I'd appreciate any help here. thanks.

Everyone: " hey, how about that Rally Module" Fanatec: "here's this crappy updated csl hub no one asked for"

I hope this is the start of some new products..
Im going to orlando next year. Is there some store that i can go to get these wheels?

I prefer the other hub much more. This is if you don't have the funds.
Love the edit after 2:15 lmao

this video has the qr1
Is better this or the wrc wheel in terms of quality ?
Kind regards
i am sorry but it's the exact same hub?
It was announced just agter i bought an adapter which replaces my DD1 quick Release with a 6 bolt pattern as i thought the Fanatec Adapter was way to expensive.
RC, where must I go to learn the way of No Hesi?
Dead serious. I can't drift to save my life.
Hi, can clubsport hub v2 work with Sparco P310 or P330 wheels from Thrustmaster?
It will work with any 3x50 or 6x70 wheel. I don't think the sparco wheel has that pattern, so you'll have to confirm
@@randomcallsign have 6x70 but... 2 more in the bottom and 1more in the left and 1 in de right... looks like not working... Thanks by the answer 👍
What do the paddle shifters feel compare to? A csl elite wheel?
P1
Says ps compatible.. Does that mean you can attached this to a non-ps wheel Base and it'll become compatible on ps?

its limited with the MFD/options button.
The P1 v2 is fully functional
@@randomcallsign Thanks for your reply. This is very helpful. Cheers.
how did you get it working? mine will just not detect the hub please help me, ive got version 451

Now I have to decide between CSL Steering Wheel P1 V2 ($119.95) or CSL STEERING WHEEL 320 V2 ($199.95). I have a CSL DD with 8NM.
Get the hub. For 199 good price. The p1 v2 is crap
epic vid brother
hey, thanks!
Thanks for the thorough review. Can you please expand on why this might be a good choice for PlayStation? Cheers.
not sure I said its good for PS. while its supported it doesnt have everything bound correctly
whoops I meant to say not good for PS. Thanks.
