its videos like this one that make me glad i'm not fussed about modern stuff as it proves that if you put the work in older models can look just as good as their modern equivalents
Remarkable! Recently unpacked my childhood model railway from boxes in storage for the first time in over 45 years! Guess whats in there? One of these! What a brilliant idea this is. I think the more we can recycle old stock to save spending unrealistic amounts of cash on new stuff really is the way to go. Everything I have, much like myself, is starting to get on a bit but, that doesn't mean that its no good or needs replacement. Excellent work Sir, very professionally done. Thank you for Posting.
Thanks for contributing to this cause, Tris. I have a history of prostate cancer, but it was found early enough we think (and continue to hope) that surgery was able to remove it all. Not fun, but I consider myself lucky. As usual, I enjoyed your video very much, indeed. Cheers from Wisconsin.
That's really great painting Tris, it's really brought this very old model alive again. Don't forget to paint the post box red on the more detailed side. Brilliant keep the good work up, cheers T.
What a wonderful job you have done. I am sure it will inspire more people to revamp their older models rather than getting rid of them. I love restoring old engines and stock. Currently, at the moment restoring 3 Triang 3 Mt 2-6-2 and a M7 0-4-4 tank engines.
This Mail Coach looks fantastic. 👌 Great job for a great charity. Well done. Talking of G W R. I'll be going to the Didcot Railway in the beginning of June. I'm looking forward to it.
You have done it proud. Just shows what you can do with old Triang coaches and all in a good cause. I still have all my old Triang coaches and locos and it's got me wanting to upgrade them!
Tris, quick trick to prevent paint “bleed”, after taping spray a light coat of clear. This will seal the tape edges and you shouldn’t see any “bleed” after the final coat of colour.
I immediately subbed and then found you and another on IG. Very clear and informative and calming video about a hobby I enjoy. Well done and a lovely piece. I hope it garnered all it deserved at the auction. God bless.
Excellent result. It looks just lovely, like a modern model. I think it highlights how good Tri-ang models can look with paint and the details enhanced. Worthy cause too.
A truly wonderful looking mail van, the colour scheme looks crisp, love the light blue details on underframe, very well done and for a worthy cause. Good luck with the auction Tris. All the best. Brian @The Angels
Great video Tris. Lovley job on the coach. I myself have just gotten into the world of airbrushing it's quite fun all ready painted up a few models. - Nicholas
Great job Trish and a great cause . I had an original Triang mail coach with my 1st load of model railway kit my dad bought off a friend for a Christmas present… I must have been 3 or 4 .. good modelling 👍🏼👍🏼
Cracking job Tris, you have great skill. I had one of these in the early 70s as a lad. Sadly too early and I destroyed it and all the Dublo stock my dad got for me. Thanks for a great refurb, I really enjoyed this.
Hi Tris, great video & site, good work, please can you tell me if the Railmatch cream was enamel or acrylic paint, as I have a few coaches to try this on, many thanks & good luck!
Excellent Video-Summery ..! Thank You. I have same model but noticed Bogies slightly different. Mine only got one (1) spring detail, each side. Would mine be an early version from first release? Thank You 👍
Have you seen that RMweb post where someone chopped up these to make 3 TPO LMS coaches? They're different sizes and have 5mm L strips to support their insides.
Great video Tris. I had one of these with the open couplings rather than the 'D.' Just wondering what size and make of paint brush did you use for the detailing (I might have missed that as I skimmed some parts of the video)? Your brush looks better than the 0000 one I have.
Forgive me if I've got it totally wrong, from one of your vids, you said you design motorized racing cars, nice job. Just finished my first ever attempt at weathering a mk1 full brake, and interior detailing, used some of your 3d printed beer barrels ,oil drums, and milk churns... very pleased with the way it all looks . Thanks
@@philsrailway5910 so I design RC cars which you can race. I travel around the world looking after the team drivers of the manufacturer i work for and try and help them win in competitions 😊 that’s great you have made use of them, I’m sure it looks great!
Hello, a nice video - quite inspiring in fact. Have you got another coach yet? If you haven't let me know as i have several of these in a drawer. If you would like one I'll send it to you free of charge. Thanks again.

Thank you for that, made me smile 😊
The GWR painted axles coach boxes blue [on later coaches] to show that they had oil lubricated boxes, as opposed to earlier grease lubricated ones.
Thank you, that’s great to know
Brilliant and nice too. Very good job. Well done.

Looks amazing Triss thankyou for the video
Enjoying this. I had one of these, I believe in 1965, at three years old.
I find no greater pleasure than enjoying an artist's work and results. You sir are one of the finest I have seen in quite a while. Beautiful model.
Looks brilliant

This is amazing and surprise to me the excellent finishing. Thank you.
Brilliant job Tris 😀 Cheers Greg

What a fabulous looking coach and great to see how you did it , plus it's for a great cause too.
Absolutely beautiful, Tris.
Thats amazing, you should be very proud of yourself 👏👏👏

Just wanted to say proper job !!yet another brilliant video 😀👍 Thanks again Tris
Thank you Mike, I enjoyed doing it. Take care 😊
Looks great. Nice job.
Thank you 😊
Well, looked at your opposition and only 3 coaches really stand out...got you down to win it with the second mail van not far behind. Lovely job pal.
Looking good excellent work
Very skillful. I used to have one when I was a kid many moons ago.

That sounds like a good idea thank you
Pardon my ignorance; but "clear" what? Primer? I would like to try this method for myself. TIA.
@@User-3O3 I should have clarified. I meant a clear gloss or clear Matt, like Tamiya clear.
@@tonyl7418 Thank you, kindly.
Brilliant Job

Thank you David. I’m glad you enjoyed it
It depends on the transfer, but nail varnish remover (acetone?) often gets them off without using an abrasive. That said, what a spectacular result
Thanks, these seemed like they were painted on but I should try that in the future
Great work Tris. The axle box colour I believe is down to the type of lubricant that should be used.
Thanks Rob, that’s great to know
Nice one enjoyed your video.
Very relaxing video :-)
Thank you very much 😊
What awesome work Tris!
Thank you Jade!
A lovely job achieved there Tris 👍
Can you do a video on maintaining airbrushes? I have 2 and even though I followed the instructions to clean them they no longer spray paint 🙃
I see, I guess I can try but it would be based on using acrylics
Hi Tris, great video & site, good work, please can you tell me if the Railmatch cream was enamel or acrylic paint, as I have a few coaches to try this on, many thanks & good luck!

nice build but one question if you used railmatch g.w coach cream why didnt you use railmatch g.w coach brown
I have two of these and I don't use them on my layout.
