  • Today we test out some go fast products for the 2.0t Ltg engines! Diverter valves from GFB and JacFab/BNR are installed in my 2017 Camaro for testing and review. This one's going to be fun!

    I have an automatic and just ordered the gfb valve. Update: it is great so far. With an automatic transmission, stock bpv and aftermarket intake it runs through the gears quickly and with light throttle casual driving it pretty much just dumps boost the entire time unless under heavy throttle. With the GFB it doesn’t dump boost like the stock one does while casually accelerating on a light throttle, and when it does it’s faster and better regulated of how much boost is really being dumped. Just my personal experience if that helps anyone.

    I have a 16 regal gs auto with a tune and a similar diverter to gfb unit. I havent had any issues with driveability. It actually feels alot smoother than the stock setup and it's not hunting for gears as much when your rolling and ask for some power. Great comparison. Glad you pointed out the differences in peak power would be negligible. Like 5hp between all of them. The price point for each of the aftermarket diverters is different too.

      @@PWRVTEC It made a huge difference, however, I went back to stock after short time. Once you drive it around a little bit and see the characteristics you can ask them to adjust the tune to your liking. I had them dial back the off the line boost as I had driveline concerns. Even with nitto's it would break traction even when I didn't want for it to and awd is worthless once it gets rolling since its low speed only. Do get yourself a green filter as that will allow it to breath much easier.

    The GFB diverter valve does snap in place...you have to press.

    I have the bnr valve on my 2.0 its so much better than the gfb. i feel instant boost faster boost and and boost that last longer.most important i can feel a difference while reving up and takeing of faster. i tried both. gfb made it fell like my turbo had lag in it. And i have a 2019 chevy 2.0 redline equinox turbo and i like bnr for the win. . im currenly runing a trifecta tune as well. with resonator delete and apexi n1 and kn. hope this helps.

    You did something wrong. The GFB does snap into place...and there is certainly a power gain over stock...I no longer can just ride in 4th gear and find myself using 5th gear a lot more...shifting is also better (I have the manual). Ive now noticed that im pulling at 6k rpm (I never redline mine)...You may have gotten a faulty one especially seeing it didnt snap into place...mine came from Phasetek.

      Same i feel much better pulling after 5000rpm in my equinox also it now doesnt need to downshift when asking for light acceleration.

      No sir. In reality all your changing is the face of the valve so the CP doesn't know the difference.

    You didn’t put the gfb value together rite it’s turn and lock don’t just sit it on there like u did maybe that with fix your problem

      Not really. Mostly better throttle response.

      thank you for the reply. Just read up on forums that some people experienced loss of power/higher 0-60 times with the intake, (without a tune) so I was on the fence although I really want the intake + jacfab for the sound. Appreciate the input.

    Hello there. If I may, I would like to ask you a question about my 2.0 ATS.automatic. Lately, at WOT, I get a high-pitch oscillating whistle and loud pop from under the hood from 1st to 2nd. Bad factory diverter/blow off valve? When engine is cold, it sounds like a cracked Ex. Manifold No codes. 89000 miles. Thank you, Tony

    • @boltbreakers8805
      @boltbreakers8805  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try checking under your engine cover for cracked vacuume lines first. I dont think that would be diverter valve. That whistle prob means its sucking or blowing air from somewhere.

    • @boltbreakers8805
      @boltbreakers8805  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      What that flutter sound is turbo flutter. It happens when boost backs up into the turbo. U can use a stronger spring or put a washer or 2 in your bypass valve to get it. Not healthy for the turbo though.
