Excellent product. I bought a big supply of it fifteen years ago and it is still like new. Works great on my high tension overhead main lines connections too.

That Tape is amazing. I bought some a few years ago and always have a roll handy. You have done a very good video on this product.

Aside from waterproof, it's also insulating and resistant to high and low temperatures.. wonderful stuff

Yes. My batteries are in float mode but My catchment is wanting some rain. 14 years offgrid and I've never had to buy water or electricity

it is called Vulcanizing Tape. Grid workers and electricians use it all the time. you really should wrap regular electricians tape over it to make it last near forever.

I recently discovered this tape also. I needed to repair a high voltage 3-phase cable on a Chevrolet Volt & the service manual said to use Orange Rescue Tape. I'm going to buy some for myself just to have on hand for emergencies and such.

Thanks for this video! I didn’t know about this stuff but I see my local “Jula” store here in sweden 🇸🇪 sells a Tesa branded version of this tape for 99 kronor. I have a water connection under my sink which I haven’t been able to make work for months because I keep buying adaptors which don’t seal properly when screwed together. I wouldn’t mind betting I can stop worrying about a perfect seal and just wrap those connections in this tape and keep the water insid the joint… I’m gonna give it a try, anyway 👍

I find many uses for it, and continues to work very well. One tip...when wrapping it, make sure to pull, and stretch it pretty tight which activates the seal better. The tighter the better. Aloha🤙

2:00 Yes, Tension is the key to optimal functionality. I've used it for many years. It's nice for underground wire slices.

That a great product. I have seen adds for that on TH-cam . I had my down spout leaking on my gutter . it is buy the door on back . I have that flex seal in a can . I think you seen the add for it. comes in a spray can as well. I brushed it on with a paint brush. never leaked again . been a few years now. I brushed it on the legs on my panels on the roof and it never leaks . some times a product just works like as the add . That tape comes in a big strip as well . was on add during one of your video's . put in on a big pipe in the rain and done. leak stopped.

Its pretty cool stuff. A bit spendy but worth it . I need to run a few beads of flex seal around here for sure. Actually need some rain...suppose to get some next couple of days...I sure hope so. Aloha 🤙

@@ProjectsinParadise808 I have 3M tape like that and has UL listing. it's self bounding tape but made for electric . I think rated 10,000 volts. still pricy

Good idea. I wonder if painting or covering it with a sleeve of PVC wi'll make it last longer by protecting it from the sunlight.

Shows no degradation after months exposed to pretty intense sun. Aloha 🤙

Just applied this to my car which has a decent size power steering oil leak. The pipe that's leaking doesn't seem to be available from aftermarket sellers and an oem part of course is astronomically pricey and on top of that it is quite the chore to replace. This stuff should be oil proof so i really hope it does the job, or at the very least minimizes the leaking for now.

there is little to no pressure on those connections. not to be used on plumbing

  • @jerryhoxsey6467

Only problem with this tape is it ONLY STICKS to itself. It must be wrapped over itself to be useful at all. Lots of places where it will work but a pressure liquid leak is not one of them.

6:00 IMO you are not giving enough tension. At least the stuff I use works better using a lot more tension. Cheers.
