    Thank you so much.

    Just bought the Presonus with the link you provided. There were 2 different prices on Amazon and I got the last one that was cheaper because of your link. Thank you! Looking for entry level monitors and these seem to hold up nice. Can't complain on the sound quality differences especially for the price.

      Yo prefiero los HS5 por esa propuesta más plana. Los presonus están coloreando mucho los graves, y a la hora de mezclar, corres el riesgo de aumentar mucho los medios para compensar y que sean estridentes en aparatos convencionales

    The Presonus have a bit fuller sound and more bass, which I like, as I have a tendency to mix in too much bass with flatter monitors, which then comes out muddy on other speakers. I think these will help keep me from over doing it.

      I am making more bass songs. I have presonus hd7 headphones. Mixing with them felt difficult to me. Because it has boost near 200 hz i think, so i can't find the right 808 sound. Now i want to buy a monitor. Has Eris 4.5 got this bass sound problems? Can i mix on it? Which one should i buy?

    i bought this eris e4.5 after watching at this video and a couple more videos, i almost decided for the yamahas HS5 but after watching at this video i went for the presonus. they sound Beautiful, and the tuning controls are VERY USEFUL. i managed to configure them as near to ideal as possible playing some songs i know pretty well.. i though they wouldn't deliver good bass response but actually they do it just fine, obviously there's a lack on sub frequencies, but is better than expected. before this i have had Behringer 8 inches, yamahas, edifier, and i can say these presonus are beautiful and sound beautiful.. but YOU HAVE TO USE BALANCE CABLES. forget about using the provided RCA cable. buy a good pair of cables.

    Presonus is really clean sounding. It has a lot of highs. The high guitars were really popping out. The HS5 has more midrange, and bass. The HS5 is really nice and so musical especially on the jazzy and acoustic stuff, but it's hard to resist the clearness of the Presonus. HS5 is almost double the price of the Presonus as well

    • @BigCarso
      @BigCarso 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Agree. Presonus kills it with vocals. Yamaha's sound thin and unrealistic. This is true irl too with the Yamaha I listened too

      If you like bass , Presonus E4.5 is better. if you like clean sound, Yamaha HS5 is better.

    • @craigdines7604
      @craigdines7604 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's actually kind of the opposite of what I was saying. The Presonus is more Hi-Fi - cleaner, clearer. The HS5 is more warm, oldschool sounding, with more midrange detail.@@joevu6859

    • @alejandroberthel1387
      @alejandroberthel1387 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@joevu6859 Los HS5 definitivamente tienen más claridad en la zona de voces que da una sensación más amplia, en donde presonus baja mucho en esa parte y es tentador mezclar más alto esa zona y hacer estridente en un audio practico.
      Los graves del HS5 son equilibrados sin dejar de sonar profundos. Me decantaría por los HS5, aunque por presupuesto, los los presonus.
      Al final, no pierdes tanto y la pérdida de medios no parece tan fatal

    Excellent test and video btw... The HS5's open up something horrible at the high end. The E4.5's contain the spectrum nicely. To my mind, the HS5's are trying too hard by pushing the top end and it just sounds too open, harsh and somehow cheap. The E4.5's present the audio in a contained way, nicely bracketed and precisely what you want from studio monitors. My €200 is going Presonus's way off the back of this demo. Thanks DS.

    Great comparison as always. IMHO for all these years I've always thought HS5 is a superior being, they have consistently getting 4 to 5 stars rating in almost every audio reviews. Almost nothing is bad about them, until all hell breaks loose in this video. Eris E4.5 does feels more balanced top, mids and lows combined. Totally surprised by the outcome.

    • @Quoutub
      @Quoutub 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Several years ago I compared the Eris E5 with the HS5 and HS7. The HS5 was much, much worse than the E5. I was shocked, it reminded me of the sound of a small radio. If the HS5 gets good reviews, then it's probably due to the "Yamaha" brand. The HS7 is better, but I still preferred the E5 over the HS7.

    Both sound quite flat and very good for mixing.
    Presonus sound a little bit warmer - Yamaha a little bit colder (I guess it could be 'cause of the use of different materials as well).
    I'd like to see a comparison of the Yamaha HS5 against Presonus Eris 3.5 - 'cause I think they would sound kinda similar.

      ...
      For mixing I got the Yamaha MSP (3) studio monitors (professional versions of the HS series - some of the best, most accurate and truthful studio monitors, I've ever experienced - maybe some of the best studio monitors in the world for mixing).
      ...
      I've uploaded my first remix mixed with the Yamaha MSP 3 studio monitors some months ago.

      Daniel Serrano cumplen, muy muy fieles, sonido limpio, agudos cristalinos, medios detallados y bajos decentes... Pero si eres de los que les gusta que revienten los graves no son para ti, los uso para índie, folk y rock y me gustan, los he comparado con los rokit 5 y no hay diferencia fuera de los graves. Me encanta su imagen estéreo, cabe resaltar que mi cuarto no está tratado acústicamente al 100%, solo lo básico... Triangulo esquilatero, reflejos con espejo, y la espalda de los monitores.

    Look at them all classed out and pretty in white. How can you not want them? Funny I thought there'd be a huge difference but there's not, except the mids on the HS5. If I could have afforded them I'd have went with the Yamaha's, always heard great things, and the bass has to be deeper. Anyway I just bought the Eris E4.5's and they should be here in 2 days, hope they're as good as everyone says! Edit: FYI these will be secondaries as well as used with my bedroom tv, my mains are Presonus Sceptre S8's; absolutely love them!

      The E4.5's arrived yesterday and they are like a wall of sound! I'm really amazed by these little guys, their sound is much bigger than their size. I just have them hooked up to my tv right now and was playing some Alter Bridge on TH-cam, they sounded fantastic! I tried tooling around with the high and low knobs but they sound best in the middle to my ears. Of course it depends on the media you're listening to. I was a little dissapointed they didn't come with the Low cut off and Acoustic Space, it was shown in the pictures. Thanks Amazon. They're both good but think I prefer the Presonus myself. Bass seems a little more present on them but possibly a little more detail in the Yamahas. Still you can only turn the bass down on the Yamahas yet it seems where the presonus you can control highs and lows in the same fashion. +6 to -6 high and low vs 0,-2,-4 on the low frequencies on yamahas. Think I'd totally lean towards the Yamahas if you had better control over the low end cause they do sound detailed. I need to check out the Adam audio tsv though now. One last contender.

    HS5 clear winner, especially evident on vocals. HS5's are also clearly flatter across the entire spectrum, exactly what you want in studio monitors. Pretty much the quality to be expected from Yamaha. That said, the room acoustics of most home studios are likely the weak link in the chain, so the higher quality and price of the HS5's may not be justified. Excellent video - very to the point!

    I had the Hs5 and swapped them for the Presonus...a really bad idea. The Presonus sounded boxy, muffled and too bassy; I returned them and got another pair of Hs5's, can't be happier.

    Presonus Eris E4.5: Sound quality seems clean and pretty good at a first impression. The problems start when I want to listen to some songs where I already know the voices. With these speakers, I did not recognize the details that make these voices specific. Maybe I do not have the expected 100 breaking hours. I have tried with two different DACs and directly from the PC with the same results. Some sounds seem very crisps, but others are missing details. Finally, I have returned the monitors.

    I have this Presonus and I love how they sound flat, I used to produce on a KRK Rokit 5 and since I got these monitors, I never went back. My only problem with them is that they are really bad shielded, there is a constant interference noise coming from them that I just learned to ignore.

    The PRESSONUS has a dip in the upper mids. I would like you to play the song 'Ten Words' by Joe Satriani. On cheaper speakers, like my EDIFIER, the main guitar line becomes inaudible.

    In case anyone wondering how listening to this test over headphones compared to the real world, I have e4.5 and I'm listening the same song on both e4.5 (original track) and this comparison over my Bose QuietComfort 45 headphones, Actual bass is higher through real e4.5 than what my headphones could reproduce. Which is probably true for Yamaha as well but I don't have it to compare.

I just ordered a Subwoofer Polk PSW505 (12"); am in need of a set of desktop speakers which will cover the other parts of the sound (mid/high).
