    My great grandma on my dad's side who wasn't asked me when I was in my youth if I knew what a bone grinder was for and I said it was to get rid of the old folks so they wouldn't be around to tell us how great it was that woman never looked at me the same way for the rest of her miserable life Amen

      Amazing work on the restoration. But with something this badly rusted, a wire brush cleaning to get all the initial rust off, soak in rust remover for 24 hours, then penetrating oils for another 24 .. may have made it easier to take apart. Of course that's a maybe .. the stupid back street driver talking after the fact. Since you were working with it you would know better the condition and if such things may have helped. Still amazing work. And putting together the new handle using something from the junk pile and changing it so it would fit. Incredible work. I was very impressed at that work. I love watching these as a way to relax at the end of a day.

      @@walterengler5709 Thank you friend for a nice comment and advice. Many people write about this method, soak in a rust remover and then into diesel. I haven't tried it yet. I find it quite lengthy. But it probably works :) Have a nice day Radek.

      My understanding is that the red iron oxide swells and takes more space. That is what causes the binding. The black oxide is beneficial to the iron, and it takes up less space. Most rust removers/converters turn the red oxide into the black oxide. That helps the part loosen back up. Even just vinegar works fine.

    One thing I absolutely love about your restorations is you leave some of the age and character. Many restoration channels strip them and grind them so far as they look brand new...then what’s the point of having something old? Your restorations are always a perfect balance!!!

    • @VeradonaRestoration
      @VeradonaRestoration  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you Kevin, I am of the same opinion that the old thing should look old even after the renovation, at least I do the things in my collection. But unfortunately there are people (and most of them, but I like it) who like it as if it fell out of the factory. Therefore, my fillings will have to be replaced by new ones - old ones to satisfy everyone. I hope this does not discourage you from watching our videos. Have a nice day Veronika and Radek :)

    Never hit materials that are cast iron, or that have any compound or materials with alliance because they crack they break! Let it soak in Kerocene Gasoil for 24 or 48 hours., Also if you heat the cast iron, you should do it in a place that is not windy, because it can break due to the change in temperature., To fix cracks in cast iron, you must first heat weld , and cool with an ash bath.

    Na "srostlý" šroubový spoje se mi osvědčily dvě věci. Protože nafta už není co bývala a LTO se blbě shání, plamen není vždy vhodný, tak používám směs acetonu a převodového oleje 1:1 a v případě potřeby ponořit klidně přes noc a druhá věc je TA10203.
