My friend brought up that he expected something very meta from the plot after the reveal in 2015 (obviously i called BS on him) so i decided to come back here and watch this. I can kinda see how this could be interpreted as what we got.
It's rather brilliant. All the controversial ending really did was bring the certainty of the future into question. Instead of JUST telling the same exact story, they have sown doubt about what will persist. It's not even a clear promise that things will be different or the same. It's just a breeze of uncertainty. It's a vulnerability of hope and doubt opened up in our minds to be exploited. I'm thrilled. Thrill is both joy and fear fused together. But I will embrace that and return to play the next episode.

The reason being that he believed that once a remake was made that all the Final Fantasy Fans would never want to buy another Final Fantasy game, they would've already had what they wanted.

From the moment she lifted her head with hope, having finally summoned Holy, and Sephiroth came down, Masamune stabbing her, and Holy falling into waters below...the moment that music played...that cannot be changed. It was iconic. It made the game real for me. Sounds stupid, but her sacrificing her life, unknowingly, or not, was the moment Final Fantasy VII truly became one of my favorite games...ever.

The FF VII remake obviously replaces the original in the canon, as it's a remake of the same game, telling the same story. If they were both to take place in the same canon, you'd have two Clouds and two Sephiroths running around, and every event happening twice etc., everything just duplicated, generally - which is of course ridiculous. Either the remake pushes the original out of the canon and replaces it, or then the remake makes a new canon which has Crisis Core, AC and all the supplemental stuff but of course not the original game. The latter is the much more likely. To be fair, without an official confirmation, it would be very hard to make it out to be the former, just like with FF IV and its remake.

Best game I've ever played and the Remake is even better. So glad they decided to not only do a remaster but also to include all the stuff they wanted to do and then some. I remember Midgar being 40 hours ... and that's what we got. Can't wait to see what's coming in 11 days!! ❤❤

Considering the voice actor of certain character in rebirth is the same as narrator of trailer i think the team in square is playing long game and maybe the narrative of this trailer will tie into ending of trilogy and complete the circle.
I heard it’s not the same voice actor but I’m currently playing rebirth for the second time and just finished the cosmo portion and there’s just no way to unhear gi Nattak when you hear this trailer and vice versa. Same voice actor or not, I can’t help but think it’s intentional lol

XD Though, in the original, you can sort of see bad lego block cross dressing and and that really doesn't give us much to see in the way of how strong Cloud is and the muscles he has and you can tell he has muscles by this small portion here (and the film) so seeing muscley Cloud in a tiara, dress, bikini panties etc is something I want to see but at the same time I fear it may give me nightmares. XD Though do I REALLY want to see how ugly Don Corneo is? That WILL give me nightmares for sure. XD

MrBanane117 Cloud didn't change much in AC. I didn't much life the new Barrett look, but Tifa certainly looked better in my opinion. I'm sure they will most likely stick with her trademark white top and short black skirt though. I wouldn't mind either of the Yuffie looks, but Cait Sith should be interesting; I loved him riding around on Red. I didn't much like the stuffed Mog from the original. I'm torn in two with what I want this remake to be. Part of me wants the game put back together just as it was, and another part of me wants them to take a bit of an artistic licence and spruce it all up a little. The original was far from perfect after all - but still one of the best games ever created.
He made the original score however most of the tracks in Crisis Core ect are either alterations or completely new tracks, not made by Nobuo. I'd like to say that a majority of them are actually rather good some even exceed Nobuo's work although the consistency was lacking slightly.
Uematsu returning for the remake is an absolute must. It's already given, actually, Nomura said the original devs (outside the producer: *Sakaguchi*) are all set to return. Remember, Uematsu returned to composed and arranged the soundtrack of *Advent Children* even though he already left Square and turned freelance.

Jamie Copenhaver I don't like the game (I like aspects of it but it isn't a game I could happily sit down and play if there are other games to play) but some things in this game are just NEEDING to be seen in HD and cross dressing Cloud is one of them. XD
Though, in the original, you can sort of see bad lego block cross dressing and and that really doesn't give us much to see in the way of how strong Cloud is and the muscles he has and you can tell he has muscles by this small portion here (and the film) so seeing muscley Cloud in a tiara, dress, bikini panties etc is something I want to see but at the same time I fear it may give me nightmares. XD
Though do I REALLY want to see how ugly Don Corneo is? That WILL give me nightmares for sure. XD

MrBanane117 Cloud didn't change much in AC. I didn't much life the new Barrett look, but Tifa certainly looked better in my opinion. I'm sure they will most likely stick with her trademark white top and short black skirt though.
I wouldn't mind either of the Yuffie looks, but Cait Sith should be interesting; I loved him riding around on Red. I didn't much like the stuffed Mog from the original.
I'm torn in two with what I want this remake to be. Part of me wants the game put back together just as it was, and another part of me wants them to take a bit of an artistic licence and spruce it all up a little. The original was far from perfect after all - but still one of the best games ever created.

Marai Ehnxios I really hope so. It was his scores and soundtracks that made the games what they they were as much as the stories/characters.
He made the original score however most of the tracks in Crisis Core ect are either alterations or completely new tracks, not made by Nobuo.
I'd like to say that a majority of them are actually rather good some even exceed Nobuo's work although the consistency was lacking slightly.

It's going to be 2017, 20th anniversary, also they've got the Luminous engine, so they won't need the 10 years they needed for 15 because the engine they're going to use is already ready.

Christian Lampley Same, but I saw Advant Children, I played Dirge of Cerburus, I saw playthroughs of the original game and Crisis Core, and it was one of those games I always wanted the chance to play myself. So having a current gen remake is pretty ideal for me.
