Where did you source the replacement screen? I have an A5100 with a cracked screen but it still works.
It didn't look like it's necessary to disconnect both ribbon cables as only one was for the LCD.
I sourced the lcd from eBay. It isn't necessary to remove the other cables. I hope you enjoyed the video!

Hello! Do you have any recommendations as to what to do/ check if the “selfie” screen doesn’t rotate and remains “upside down” when you flip the screen up? Everything else on the camera works fine, thank you in advance! xx
Have you tried updating the cameras firmware?
MY y camera is a5100 and when I turn it on it's completely blank. and the camera works fine but no display
The video would have been far more informative if you included critical information, like where to source a replacement screen and cost. It would also have been very interesting to discuss the possibility of using a higher resolution screen. The main criticism of the Alpha 5000 is that the LCD is of lower resolution than all of Sony’s other models in the range.
Otherwise it’s a good video and you allowed enough time in sequence to see how the repair was done.
How to source new screen = Google "Sony a5000 replacement screen". You can't just put a higher resolution screen in, you need a higher resolution output signal from the cameras motherboard/screen electronics, so that is not possible.
Where did u get the screen from ?
I bought my replacement screen from eBay. You can try googling or Amazon to compare prices.
How do you open a black pin? Up or down?
My screen on my camera is completely blank as in it looks like it’s off. However the camera turns on like normal and the functions work I just cannot see the display. Will getting a new lcd fix this issue? I think the lcd is just dead?
Have you tried removing the battery? Did you drop the camera?
Flava4TheSoul yeah removing the battery didn’t work. No I haven’t dropped the camera. Before it went completely blank it was showing green/pink/white glitches.
@@tashaikelisa Installing a new screen might fix your issue, especially if your screen had those symptoms you just said. You can buy a new screen on eBay for around $25 maybe cheaper, you can compare prices. I think I bought my screen for around $20.
@@tashaikelisa You can also try taking apart your screen before buying a replacement lcd. Take apart the lcd area and check if the ribbon cable to the lcd is seated properly.

You can probably purchase a replacement lcd from eBay.
Why do you have to put the screw back on in a crisscrossed pattern at the end?
You don't really have to, but one reason is that it evenly secures the plate to the camera. Thanks for watching this video!
all these screws showed up on the left...I did this on my Sony 5t and after i finish on the selfie position it didn't turn so it shows upside down so this didn't happen to you?
I have a Sony Nex 5r and it looks similar to a 5t. If the 5r is anything similar to the 5t, it is alot more difficult to work on than the a5000. No I didn't have the same issue that you mentioned.
Now I just want to replace the outer clear screen it has a scratch a replacement possible
Yes, replacements are sold online but the OEM screen is better quality. Aftermarket replacements are inferior in quality.
I did the exact same thing and my screen turns on but it’s just white 🤦🏻♀️
