SOLUTION FOUND TO ANYONE HAVING PROBLEMS! Lower render distance to minimum chunks. This immediately spawns them like the video. Also, do not use overworld blocks in the farm (sand, cobblestone, etc.) or it may cause spawning issues.

@@user-ip8si8md8q you have to save and quit, then when youre in the world select screen, edit the world and then you will see you will be able to change the render distance

Also a tip break the floor and replace it with soul sand and then grab soul sand boots so u can run way faster and kill them

The farm works great I would recommend turning the simulation and render distance down to the lowest possible for maximum spawns also you will occasionally hear the ear piercing screams of a ghast suffocating a wall but other than that farm works great
I found lowering the simulation distance on your world greatly increases spawn rates. I went from 1-2 ghosts a min to like 8-9

EDIT: just finished it in a quick hour, the ghazts rapidly respawn when you kill them. Needless to say, this DEFINITELY works! I expected nothing less

To anyone that plays with the free dragon lite add on if anyone does, dragons also spawn in the farm but it does not effect the spawn rate of ghasts
I built it over nether waste because I'm lazy, but Im still getting good rates, magma cubes do spawn, but I can really just ignore them with soul floor and soul speed three boots. Great farm tutorial man!

If anyone is having trouble digging out the room because ghasts are spawning,you can use invis potions and take off your armor and they wont shoot you
When working on the top 2 layers take out 2 or 3 rows and put leaving or glass in so you dont get shot up
You should do a wither skeleton farm next, I have one in my realm I can share the schematics for it if you’d like, also works great with an auto sorter for the coal, the skeleton heads and the bones

Amazing Farm. Simple And Easy To Make. Ran around killing Ghasts for an hour and got 11 stacks of gunpowder (equivalent to around 33 stacks of fireworks) Built Mine Over a basalt biome and a soul sand biome but still got good rates.

This farm has stayed the same from 1.20 to 1.21 :)
All you need to do is if you built the farm with buttons to stop other mobs from spawning. Just replace them with trapped doors😊
i kinda got back to minecraft after a really looong time; any advice/tip to avoid ghasts burning my leaves with every single shot¿? it's twice as hard since the fire spread and just kill the progress.
They shouldn't be able to shoot you once all of the leaves are placed. You could go into peaceful for now
Can setup rails with railcarts to pick up and bring ghasts to you in the corner. Use an activator rail to auto kick them out right in front of you. Could easily turn this into afk.....

@@drx737 no. At that y level in the nether, as soon as you kick them out of the minecart with an activator rail, it kicks them out one block higher which places them inside of the ceiling. This suffocates them and the loot drops.
You could do trident killers, but the xp from this isn't worth it compared to a nether portal gold farm.

Great video and perfect instrustions! My only problem was that when i went up to 119 and dug the hole up, i could only go one block higher (121) due to there being some bedrock. One ghast did spawn as i was making it though but what should i do? Find a new spot or would it be fine to dig to 118?

That should still be fine. Are you on peaceful? Are you over a soul sand valley?

The only way this worked is when I set simulation distance to 4!!!
IF NO GHASTS ARE SPAWNING THERE IS AN EASY FIX. If you built the farm at y level 120 then chances are you have bedrock sticking out of your ceiling. This causes an issue with the ghasts spawning. If you lower the entire farm by one or two blocks to make a smooth ceiling, it should start working
I know this is a long shot but Could you put a bunch of hoppers/railminecart with campfires on top of them to make it automatic or am I stupid?
You probably could, I'm debating trying it lol

loads of hoglins keep spawning even though i built it in a soul sand valley which means im getting less ghast spawns do you know how i can prevent them from spawning

chunkloaders don't exist in bedrock as far as i know but i think this can work

Yes you could, but since you have to run to them to kill them, it wouldn't make much sense, lol

I would suggest building the other, automatic ghast farm on my channel
There are very few ghastts spawning and when they spawn they do inside the walls, so they die before I can kill them
Try running to the corners when none are there. Also are you fully in the right biome?

The lava lake is so mobs below don’t slow the rates of the farm. It works just not as well

Weird. Bedrock can be buggy, maybe AFK in different spots, close or far.

I put it on hard mode and only 1 Ghast spawned I did everything right above a soulsand valley torches leaves a block form the ceiling everything right but only 1 spawned. Is it because I’m only around 10 blocks from the big part of the nether?
Try running to the corners, and more should spawn. If not, download my world and see if something is different. what is your simulation distance on?
Turn down yoyr chunck rendering to its lowest and you should get more

check simulation distance, not render. Also what farm? Assuming it's ghast make sure your on hard

I found harder solution like change peaceful mode to hard mode repeatly until ghast spawn that so tired help me pples :(

Adobe photoshop yes :) It is around $30 a month but you can use others like DaVinci resolve I believe they have a decent free photo editing software.
