I’m apprentice 2 year (panel beater) and this is soooo helpful, thank you very much for putting out these videos :)
Glad they are helping mate. Thats what this channel is all about
I’ve been doing smart repairs for big dealerships for the last 5 years and watching your videos teach me good tips
Hi Arnol. I valeted/detailed for 8 years for dealers. Then I did smart repairs for a big dealer for 6 years before going alone 2 years ago. Thanks for watching
Great presentation. Great information
Glad it was helpful!
Top tip heat the panel tap the crown before pulling the dent beating since 1986 Great Job in testing conditions
I do this on most jobs mate im surprised I didn't on this one..all tips welcome here tho 👍🏻
@@cvrpov Cool it's the first time I've watched your channel keep up the great work 👍
@@cvrpovawesome video, mate. I love pov closeup shots of the dents and the pulling of the dent and watching it pop out is so satisfying. I'm sure your good looking and all but I come for the dents not a fashion show or music festival like some other youtubers who speed it up or put terrible music over it. I'm just about to buy one for myself to get into more serious dent repair and collision damage as panels are so expensive now and I think if you can save just one door your well justified charging 300 for the repair plus paint as some doors or bumpers now are upwards of 500 plus paint.
Best guy on here goes in-depth on the repairs what sanding grits ect very well explained top marks bud keep it up help loads
Thanks 👍 glad to help
Really excellent video. Learned a lot.
Glad to hear it!
Your mate should make his mrs watch this to appreciate the work involved

As always great content. What blend agent did you use? As for Silvers, I feel your pain brother..... a complete pain in the arse! Great work mate keep up the good work 👍
Yeah silvers can be really hard work. I use lechler fade out blender
I noticed the color was not a hundred percent color match. But great effort anyway. Thank you very much.
On a silver car I Was over the moon with the colour match

Hi will that spot welder work for aluminium panels too? Lot of new. Cars are aluminium panels or is it just used for steel metal panels?
Thanks. Good vid! What's the spray pls??
Spray with solvent basecoat and lacquer after the prep
pls more videos :) very nice
Working on it mate.plenty to come
Have you thought of using Glexo cold glue it's excellent gear from USA my friend it's the best
I've heard of that stuff mate. Next year I'd like to build some pdr bits 2getha and start getting better at pushing 👍🏼👍🏼
@@cvrpov it's great stuff expensive but it's the best
Plz matching settings ?
Btw: i listed all ur steps n tips!! 😊❤
Thanks
you are cautious about primer being porous and cover it over night but then wet flat the primer??
Good point. Its a bit sketchy on this subject when you talk amongst painters. In my head it is pourus... but no much. I think like alot of surfaces it holds off water but if left to settle it can penetrate
@@cvrpov I was taught that it is porous,i know what you mean though I worked with a painter and he wet flat everything. I always sand everything dry just to be safe… apart from dirt nibs in clearcoat. Very good video though pal job looks mint 👍🏻
@@jamessutherland8706 I tend to dry sand these days mate. Thanks for watching
Where can I get these tools from them glue pullers and the triangle with the cool 📎?
Try Google
What are they called? The glue pulled and the gadget and attachments u used. Ya videos are awesome I'm just becoming a fan of ya channel. And I would like to say thank you thief great
Curious why you choose a lacquer clear vs urethane
It's the standard in the uk
Lovely repair. Im no professional but i have done a few bits like this myself. I think the blending fluid is something i will look into. That has been a nightmare for me in the past. Chasing the repair out to a defined stop on a door shut or trim line, having to do more work than i should. But in saying that...2 or 3 times a year I'll repair a dent or re spray something for friends and family. But kit and paint supplies...if i only i could go back and tell my younger self to leave big boy filler and halfords spray cans alone 😂 U-Pol, 2k, compressor, and a half decent gun changed everything.
Mate you are the MAN....Can you tell me your slow panel wipe !!! do you make it , or buy it in. If so what brand ?
Hi mate. Ive used various over the years but Upol Slow Panel wipe is the one I use at the moment and it does the job 👍🏼
@@cvrpov Thanks stay safe
Hi, when You blend the old and new clearcoat, do you always use fade-out thinner?
Yes 👍🏼
How do you match your colour do you have colour chips? And what paint brand do you use ? Just curious as being a painter in a bodyshop we use the colour chip system provided by glasirut.
I use debeer solvent. I mix on the van. I do occasionally use colour chips but alot of the time I try and blend the colour and not go edge to edge.
Don’t you use a guide colour when you are blocking a primer ?
Not usually no. Im aware you should though 😅👍🏼
spot on , where did you buy the spot gun from
Tinternet. Mines a power tec one
Sorry in lying.. this is the gyspot version
Why have you got the masking film up side down?
Banter
Hello mate, quick question, I’ve seen you use a 3hp 90 litre compressors, all the ones I have seen require 16amp or don’t recommend using 13amp / mains and even if they do allow they definitely don’t recommend extension leads, how do you get around this being mobile? Do you use extensions with the 3hp machine? Any tips?
I want a belt drive machine but the whole 16 amp thing and no extensions is a bit of a problem being mobile
I know certainly the abac one i use is fine on 13amp and runs off extensions. The extension must be fully wound out and not left half on reel etc else it overheats them. I find having if the comp is running then only use x1 heat lamp at a time. Fan and electric blow heaters Inc oil rads trip out when used at the same time.
Most guys use a 100 or 90 litre compressor and always on an extension but I cant vouch for every brand and model etc
@@cvrpov legend, cheers bro, appreciate your content, KING
what size compressor do you run ? does it cope ok with the Gti ok?
Abac 90 litre 3 hp. Yes it keeps up
I do this for a living and got to say you use exactly the same guns as I do even up to your spot welder altho I bought the 3500 version but was surprised you didn't use the shrinking rods, to get the high spots down after pulling the dents out, really not knocking your work as I thought you did a great job, but on some modern cars the metal is so thin and the more you grind away it can become too thin, which in its self can create problems , and the initial paint grinding down with 120 grit adds to that, try using grinding floppy discs to take away the paint without taking the metal down, love the way that you say you should have scotched the panels down in the start I am so guilty of that one but yes it makes so much sense, in your blend areas do you use an aerosol blend out thinner or do you use a blend out through your gun? the reason I ask is that i tried aerosols didn't like them what I do is buy a ltr tin of fade out thinners and just empty my clearcout gun leave a little clear in there drop a bit my fade out thinners in with it then more control and instant shine less polishing probably not needed and it will melt through to existing clearlove your work if you need a job hit me up lol.
Hi mate. This channel is about showing people how to repair their cars cosmeticly and find ways to do DIY stuff aswell as some useful hacks I've learnt over the last 15 years. I am by no means an expert in dent repair and am primarily self taught! Any tips are welcome and I will look into the paint shrinking you mention. I've heard it discussed before and know a few pdr and panel guys who have mentioned it. I am still getting to grips with the gyspot but think its a fantastic bit of kit with more potential than I know about yet! Thanks for the comments and watching my video 👍🏼 Martin
I use lechler fade out blender and have a dedicated lph 80 which it stays in at all times
What's the brand of the heat ir lamps buddy?
I'm pretty sure they are iwata. You can get them in the use at nationwide smart repair or on ebay (think its the same supplier)
@@cvrpov thanks buddy I'll take a look. Keep up the educational vlogs 👍
No problem thanks for watching
