Stitching a New Life - Sunita Pradhan’s Journey at Shanti

Traumatised by war and violence, Sunita had to make the difficult decision to leave her family and village at a very early age and find refuge in Kathmandu where she later found herself standing at Shanti Sewa Griha’s gates.
Little did she know how her life would change shortly after that moment.
From learning stitching, knitting, and taking on the responsibility of training and financially empowering other women just like her, Sunita built a new life for herself and her daughter, Kanchan, with every twist and turn of the needle.
It’s hardly ever easy to leave one life to start another, but here is Sunita bearing it all.
