Hey guyes greetings from sweden a tip for that ATV trailer and the woodchips is to dig a hole in the ground and a Wood ramp to reverse the trailer up to the hole and dump it that way you can tip it all the way

Greg made me nervous when he was using his LEG to push the wood into the chipper!!! 😬😅😅😅 The jig for cutting the long wood pieces is pretty awesome, and if you make a habit of taking them straight off the mill and putting them there, it’ll be more manageable long term!! ❤🙌🏻

Great clean up . I'd like to add a great snow and ice melting solution, using what you already have left from your wood burning and ,it will help over the winter ,around your doors and on slick spots .
1 of the fastest and cheapest ways to melt ice and snow ,is by using wood ash ,Im not sure, if you know this . I Learned it from someone years ago . Hope it helps .🖖

You need to put some cross bracing at the bottom of your cross to keep them from spreading or it's going to be flattened out. I could see them spreading when the wood was added. You are doing a great job, have a good life.

A lot of people want you to use offcuts for wood burning in your stove but actually as you know and most wood burning people know most of it is just junk. It’s mostly sap wood and bark and creates all kinds of problems with creosote buildup. Chipping it up is a good thing.

Good job cleaning up before winter. Make more use of the wood chipper periodically. Take a skid or IBC tote/frame to use as a storage container that can easily be transported with wood chips for later use. Same for the fireplace or hot tub. Used for levelling, weed control, drying out muddy areas, flower pots, garden beds. Some robust pieces may be used for steps, garden wall reinforcement, reducing soil erosion by shoring up areas in the lower levelvgarden pathway. Some pieces may be good for the water pump solar panel supports.

An idea for your firewood jig. Consider putting a horizontal brace on the bottoms of each leg. Only the nails at the intersection of your "crosses" are holding it from collapsing. The braces will provide tension as you load the top with slabs. Keep up the great work. Enjoying the adventure from the Okanagan

Nice firewood sawhorse! You'll need cross braces from legs to legs; otherwise, over time it will weaken where the legs cross over each other and are nailed together. Then the whole thing will sag. I built a smaller firewood cutting sawhorse and used some staples and some wire cable running from one middle leg to the other.

If you bungee a pair of 1 foot 4x4 or 4x6 sections on your yard trailer, you can place them in front of the trailer tires and pull the trailer up onto them. This will give you additional ground clearance and an increased dump angle.
Plus, the wood sections can aid in the trailer field repairs away from the house area.
    Good luck.

Getting property ready for winter makes a lot of sense. Snow comes and covers it's white blanket over everything and everywhere. Having the least amount of hidden stumblers or trippers hiding under the snow at least helps with doing animal duty and getting firewood. The coming snow will add to the slip, sliding away on a mountainous steeply inclined property. But great for skiing.

Looks good. As others have said you do need some cross braces across the bottom of the X's, but other than that it was a wonderful idea well played. Maybe you can just cut some of the leftover slabs when you already have the chainsaw fired up and stay ahead of the game.
On to finishing up the deck? When is the house siding scheduled to start?
Much easier to type questions sitting here than it is to do the work, Eh?

Bec, I’ve been barbering for almost 50 years. And that final clip (pun intended) was a bit painful. Love you guys!!

We used to make a couple X's out of slabs and then put the. The longs slabs in the X's and cut them up with a chain saws for the stove and fire place.

I think i would havre sorted the bigger slabs for firewood. Sharp blades on the chipper woukd help alot.

WOW!!! All that good kindling and sizable wood stove pieces just getting burned up out in the open instead of heating your home. I am amazed!!!

You both are amazing in everything you accomplish and achieve around your homestead. Please be more careful when utilizing the wood chipper. Arms, hands, and especially feet should never go past the red safety break bar. 3 years ago lost a nephew that was using a wood chipper. His sleeve got caught on a piece of wood past the safety bar as he was pushing wood through.
