Really happy to hear that! These kinds of 'meta' videos don't do as well as more traditional topics, but I feel like nobody else really talks about this kind of stuff and I greatly enjoy making them as well, so I am hoping to do more in the future
You know you're in for some great and in-depth analysis, when Suzels uploads. Back during the vs U-20 arc, a lot of people were worried because it seemed like Blue Lock was abandoning the Battle Royale aspect that made it as enjoyable as it was. With how the NEL is set up, there's no real worry of elimination for most of our beautiful boys so that threat is even more prescient. Yet Kaneshiro knew that risk going in and set out to have Ego directly state that his goal was the creation of one true striker to lead Japan and abandoning the remaining 299 to play second fiddle. Battle Royale is and always will be a core aspect of Blue Lock and I look forward to how it'll continue in the future.
Love to hear that, Macey! I've seen people use the apparent lack of stakes in the NEL as a point of criticism, and if you're only in it for the excitement of will they/won't they get eliminated that's fair I guess. I'm actually curious to see to what extent Kaneshiro will double down on the original premise of 299 players' futures being sacrificed though - I wouldn't be surprised if that'll be somewhat retconned with all the attention to side characters since the second selection tbh. The recent page where the player on top of the pile of corpses was first suggested to be Isagi was fire though, it's definitely not something Kaneshiro has forgotten altogether!
I love literary wankery. As funny as it is, I love when you wax poetic. The story is so deep and rich in symbolism and it creates such great parallels to contrast the mindsets that it presents are fundamental for success
That ego dynamic where everyone chases its own interest/ideal reminds me of Adam Smith 's concept of the Invisible Hand: everyone in the economic system searches the optimal way to gain its own profit, but that very tendency is what allows (for Smith) the Society to be functionning economically in a optimal way
I'm very much on board with this! Funnily enough I've actually looked at the connection between Blue Lock's egoism and capitalist economics in one of my earliest videos, Blue Lock's Capitalist Hellscape. The presentation is probably atrocious but the ideas still very much hold up imo.
@@suzelsmanga I just realized something so cool: in your last video, u talked about the fact that blue lock team's aim to destruction is articulated in 3 levels; the destruction of the ennemy's defense line, then the destruction of one's own comrade and finally the destruction of oneself. -> Isagi being the hero of the team and of the Story because his approach implemented also the notion of creation, which echoes with Shidou . The banger is this: Schumpeter already theorized about the concept of creative destruction as the key aspect of Capitalism but also its Achille's heel. It's fabulous
Thanks so much! I haven't seen it yet, is it any good? It's been quite a few years since I watched the original trilogy but I remember really enjoying them, so I might check it out
I'd recommend checking out my U20 analysis, I talk a lot about Rin in that one. I'm not sure if I'd make a separate Rin video tbh, I've always said that it doesn't make sense to me to talk about Rin in isolation because he's so intrinsically connected to the ideas of the second selection and U20 match. That might change depending on how PXG plays out, of course
this is a great video essay - eventually once you start getting income from this you should consider getting an editor and making your self a 2d cut out to make the video more engaging. keep it up bro
Love to hear it! 🇨🇮 Yeah I'd love to have an editor, but in all honesty I'm kinda sceptical about ever making any decent money from this. At least as far as I can tell, the Blue Lock community isn't large enough to sustain more niche channels like mine, so I don't think it'll become more than just a hobby really
> Watches video that starts with "This video contains spoilers for Kaiji" > Gets spoiled for Kaiji > Surprised_pika.png In all seriousness though, glad you hear you enjoyed it!
We eating good today
Love to hear it!
Gosh so good! Really just driving into the fundamentals of existance through blue lock now and I love it!
