Reservation, one of the most debatable topics, has been a ping of discussion since its inception in India. Many of us are against it, while others stand for it. Despite the difference of opinion, there is no denying that it has affected lives on a large scale.

7:25 eklavya was not a shudra or so called lower caste he was a prince of nishad kingdom and he later became a king. He was denied archery training by drona because he was not a kuru kingdom prince like kauravas and pandavas and drona also wanted arjun to be the best archer. This caste angle was added latter on post independence when socialism had become popular in india.
Mahabharat literally mentions existence of kings from shudra caste.
This is correct what happened later was nepotism.... It's unfortunate we must change but with economic reservation... Not with caste ....

The reservation excludes Brahmins in areas in which they are under-represented such as education and employment. Brahmins oppose reservation to achieve goals such as bridging inequalities in employment and pay, increasing access to education, and redressing existing injustices, prejudices or obstacles against Brahmins. The reservation purely targets the Brahmins by discouraging them for increased participation. Brahmin drawback is the societal drawback that disadvantages Brahmin people over non-Brahmin people in societies, if they are under the same social, political, or economic circumstances. Current innocent Brahmin people must not bear a collective responsibility for the harm which had resulted from historical casteist treatment of people belonging to other groups. Discrimination against any individual on the basis of their Brahmin origin is unjustified. Reservation is discriminatory, discarded meritocracy and is driven by lower caste vote-bank politics.

I belongs to SC caste, I was topper in my school in 10th standard but teacher were very unhappy because they were expecting upper caste students in top 5 ranks. One teacher was so frustrated that he said to my father that your son is fraud and he did cheating in exam. I was very disheartened despite of being school topper in borad exam.
But iam really thankful to all upper cast people who supported me in my life.

Being from a SC community,I cracked a Govt. Exam in 2009 in Open , never choose any SC form in Job, always compete for OPEN merit. But ultimately at work my reporting officer came to know about my cast, my APARs were deliberately given less marks than my peers , now I am 4 years behind my batch in promotion, even my junior batch is 1 year ahead of me. Once my reporting officer suggested to me that you should've chosen SC in the job form. You said it rightly that Jati kabhi Jati Nahee ..

One major problem with reservation is, it increase the gap between developed and undeveloped SCs/STs. Those who are developed are using them for eternity but those who are not undeveloped are at same worse poverty condition.

My friend is SC his father is MBBS MD Dr... He took admission in pvt. Mbbs With a score of 435 only development fees for him there and now enjoying his life... I being a general candidate my father is shopkeeper and i'm studying bams paying 1.5 lakh every year score was 514 in neet 2021 .... 😅 still I don't blame reservation... I know God won't let me down ever... ❤

Hi Nitish.. I’m from Shillong. And here the scenario is totally different. Out here the population of ST is more than 80%. Here most of the STs are economically sound wheareas Non Tribals under General category are not as rich as STs. Here the representations of General category is zero in all segment. When we were in school , my friends who were STs used to get scholarships and they spent all that money in partying, whereas students under General category found difficult just to buy some books and never got scholarships. And that’s the ground reality.
It is not same everywhere it is very rare. 95% general are economically stronger as compare to sc/st. Wese v EWS wale ko v yeh suvidha ab milne lagi hai so just chill. EWS ka istemal karo or khus raho

This is the best explanation on the caste based reservation so far. It may be the only video that has taken social aspect into consideration and pointed out that money doesn't break the caste hierarchy.
The reservation excludes Brahmins in areas in which they are under-represented such as education and employment. Brahmins oppose reservation to achieve goals such as bridging inequalities in employment and pay, increasing access to education, and redressing existing injustices, prejudices or obstacles against Brahmins. The reservation purely targets the Brahmins by discouraging them for increased participation. Brahmin drawback is the societal drawback that disadvantages Brahmin people over non-Brahmin people in societies, if they are under the same social, political, or economic circumstances. Current innocent Brahmin people must not bear a collective responsibility for the harm which had resulted from historical casteist treatment of people belonging to other groups. Discrimination against any individual on the basis of their Brahmin origin is unjustified. Reservation is discriminatory, discarded meritocracy and is driven by lower caste vote-bank politics.
Money does break caste. How many rich backward caste individuals are doing menial jobs? It is these people who are taking undue advantage of the priority given for the more downtrodden among their own community

I'm ST and I was in hostel there was girl older than me who keep saying things like 'people from your community keep taking opportunities away from us' (she was a rajput) her father was a business man. She would even badmouth our community calling us gavar and all and when I tried to cofront her to the warden(she was a brahmin) the warden said 'whatever she said there was nothing wrong' and then they would together do the bullying verbally the warden won't let me get anywhere near her....*not like wanted to* but they both were so dcriminating against us 😞

My childhood friend is from ST, I never even thought about it, I knew it since we were kids, but now at the age of 18 going for College admission it just seems totally unfair that a person who is likely richer than me and has had the same education as me (we were in the same school) had an advantage just because he was from ST class.
It just made me a bit angry at him, same goes with reservations for females in IITs, it's infuriating.
Reservation for me at least just reminded me of our caste differences, and its effects. Caste shouldn't be something one thinks about on day to day basis. But precisely because of reservation, I am made to think about it.

I'm a brahmin and my family has no generational wealth or property infact my father is the 1st in our family to buy his own house. My mother lived with her 3 siblings and mom and dad in 1 room not even separate kitchen and bathroom.
Both my parents studied hard and made smart choices in life and thus i was lucky enough to grow up in a middle class home. So tell me how did my caste benefit me or my family in anyway? There are many rich families from sc st and obc categories. Reservation is discrimination. There were some actual families from upper caste who actually fall down in terms of character and got sc, obc or st caste, today in my school , in my school all are generals of Income over 12 Lpa by father and mother who also work with 5 or 6 Lpa do around 20 lpa and they still hate reservation, today for board registration these general students brought obc and SC certificates somehow and when asked they clearly said they don't belong to these castes😢😢😢

The only tangible reason to your situation is because your ancestors must have been in support of SC/ST/other oppressed people in the past, making them emanate true identity of Brahmins. However, even if you do good to lower caste people, upper caste used to caste out(eliminate social/financial status) their own caste people and make them suffer. You should also know as a Brahmin, in this Kali Yug, the one that stands by the downtrodden will become downtrodden in financial, social, material life. But those are the people who will reach ultimate heights in the eyes of Brahma due to their righteous karma. Don't let your situation ruin your mind. In case any similar kind of social reforms happen and unjust society take birth, people like your ancestors are needed to stand by the oppressed because you have the power to do it. PS: Black and White are racism and not casteism. Subtleties are you can easily identify white or black people by their skin color however that's not the case in castes, so it was relatively easier for them to fight for the rights. Black and White have two different Ethnicity, however, in India, all castes have same ethnicity, so it became harder for us to fight. There were Black Masters, in the age of racism, who were educated, financially capable of owning black slaves, which gave them an opportunity to be as a slave and learn to read and write at the same time. In India, nothing was taught to SC/ST, you may also find that sudras do not have the right to even listen to slokas that were spoken forget about reading and writing. There are so many nuances and all these are very different, you need to dig deep and understand so that you can understand the system of slavery that existed in different shapes and names through out the world, not just in India or America.

I am from upper caste and I whole heartedly support reservations for Scheduled Caste people because they deserve it. After watching this video, I started asking castes of sweepers and sewage cleaners in some nearby areas, it started as an awkward conversation but they became friendly when they came to know my intention was good and guess what, almost all of them are from Scheduled Caste and it is heart breaking. People often think SC and ST are same but that's not true. Scheduled Tribes (ST) call themselves the children of forests, even the latest SS Rajamouli Blockbuster film RRR glorifies them on an international scale. On the other hand, Scheduled Caste (SC) people are the ones who are being discriminated on the basis of caste in every corner of India, they are treated as untouchables even today in some villages. I truly feel for the Scheduled Castes.

I belong to General category, when I was studying 12th there was a SC guy who was way richer than me like (10-20 lac) per annum. But he once said to me that he will get crack UPSC by merit and not by any RESERVATION. Also he was really hard working. He topped at the school and in 2018 we both cracked UPSC. As he said he cracked by merit and not by any RESERVATION. Today we both good friends❤❤❤

If I share my experience.whenever I go to Rajput Village near me even old people ..Stand up for me who are elder in age...Richer than us..Huts because they respect Brahmins.
Even whenever I go to Dalit Village then also they respect a lot and they say we respect you because your grand father used to support entire lower caste people.
As a Brahmin I may feel good that they still respect me for being upper caste.But if think with liberal thought then it's cast which making me superiors.
I stay in Mumbai and many Dalit frnd shared tiffin with me in school .I never found anything wrong.

Totally agree with you brother...Im also an SC and Strongly felt it when you said "they lack resources to even take advantage of reservation"...And im quite lucky to have amazing friends who stood by me always...and we had/have great times together. But yes, lot has to improve....I wish the creamy layers from each category doesnt take advantage of reservation...and we all learn to give respect to all castes and religions....
I mean....I have people in my college who are financially stable enough to buy an I phone....(I don't have one). The resources u r talking about....I feel a smart phone is a most precious resource. The one having it.... shouldn't be complaining about anything. And I guess almost everyone has it. I'm in a government college and all my sc st friends use a smart phone.
And even today.....in our college it's always the sc and sts who score less. I mean we all stay in the same hostel....we r taught by the same professors, we write the same exam. Ofcourse there are a few exceptions....but this is what generally happens. What do u think about that?

When I was doing my 12th me and one of my friend we both went to our friend house who is from upper caste and her parents were asking our name which is normal, so we both introduced ourself from our 1st name and they are like no no we want to know your full name. So we both introduced ourself in our full name and the reaction of her parents was like : Ooo you both are ST people and they were staring us in disgusted way and asked us to leave.
It's really hurt how till people are not accepting us.
