    I've had a holy hour every week for years. Honestly, some of those hours I don't *feel anything* or *feel like I'm getting anything out of it.* but that's not the point. It's not about feelings. There are graces!!

    Can’t wait to tune in again this week. 🥰 Tell me something though: Have you guys ever done/considered doing an episode on the Doctors of the Church? Maybe a brief overview of who they are, what it takes to earn that title, and what we can learn from them? I feel like it’s a term that many Catholics have heard in passing but don’t really know what it entails. I didn’t even know who they were myself until I Googled it a few years ago. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It could be a good learning opportunity for your listeners.

      That is a great idea for an episode, and you are right, I know the term and its general meaning, but that is it.

      Years ago (1970s-80s), under JohnCardinal Krol Archbishop of Philly PA, he pushed to offererClasses for Catechidts offered in the evenings in the classrooms building at Saint Charles Seminary taught by many of the same professors the Seminarians were be a schooled by during the day. The were three-credit College courses in four areas: OT, N T Liturgy and the NEW then Catechism-- total cost per class them $45 paid for by sponsoring Churchn or individual.
      I took a total of 38 credits, receiving a Certificate from the Archdiocese for credits 34 and another from Rome for the 38 credits!!!
      Later decided to work on my full degree so hunted out a full-time job as Office Manager at Villaova University Trans ferred all, added more courses there, finishing b a Major in Religious Studies, two minors Psychology & one in Education... have worked in Faith/Cstechetical field and led a great choir in Philly...
      In 1989, moved to UPSTATE NEW YORK, found I knew more re Catechetics and Religious Studies than even the Priests in Albany, Syracuse area of Upstate NY!!!
      Have love serving the Lord, struggled many times helping the totally unfamiliar, from clerics to parents/ children, but Spiritually Rewarded many many times!!!
      Searched out a wonderful Catecgeticsl Program for FAMILIES for use in our SNOW RIDDEN area where Family Learns together forv3-weeks at home, kids in classroom one week a month with parents being prepared that in a separate class st the same time!! Excellent idea is guided properly!!!

    No coincidence I just started following you again after a long break because of this specific topic.
    The Eucharist.
    I pray individually for Priests specifically for their request which yes I gently ask to be specific in my Adoration Hour. This means I spend at least 8 hours at week and want to get to 12 hours. One hour for each Priest for one year and then rotate to others our Lord Jesus brings to my attention.
    Without Priests, there is no receiving the Body and Blood of the Living Eucharist. Call it a selfish act if you want but I cannot live without it. Often when I pray in Adoration, I can taste the Eucharist. It is a grace from God that I deeply cherish. Thank you for a phenomenal show. I especially love and will be using to describe myself as becoming and being a true Walking Tabernacle”. This means I’m walking the talk and sharing the Gospel as an Apostle. Pray for me that I may do well and love gracefully with patience, quickness of forgiveness and humility. All my love, United in Prayer.
    Saint Rosemary (my Confirmation name).

    If you are in Tampa, my parish Epiphany of Our Lord, has Holy Hour 6 days a week after the 8 a.m. daily Mass. Also, during that time, confession is offered. The second and fourth Thursday every month at 6 p.m. is Men's Holy League with vespers, adoration, confession, and benediction. Following that in the social hall is an hour of Catholic teaching and social time.

      Why not just make an hour of devotion at home? You don't need a church to provide you with that. Read your bible and pray directly to GOD instead. You DO read your bible, don't you? And you DO pray DIRECTLY to God (not thru Mary), don't you?

    • @maureenmeine8851
      @maureenmeine8851 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @kevinrtres I go to spend the time alone with Jesus, present in the Sacrament of His Holy Altar...Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinty. When Mary appeared to the children of Garabandal (over 2000 times!) she chastised them for not going quietly into the Church "to sit with my Son, as He waits there silently for you". That's enough for me.

    I live in a very small town in the Bible Belt we have one Catholic Church. Our Pastor has to preside over 2 churches, ours and the church the next town over. Unfortunately we only have adoration once a month on a Friday morning. A Friday morning adoration is hard to make you work. I really adoration was done at least once a week in the evenings.

    It's the one place where time just flies by for me and what a blessing it is to be able to sit with Jesus 🥰
    Quick question, I'm just back from New York, had morning mass while I was there, I'm Irish btw, but during mass when the priest said "let us pray" everyone stood up, here in Ireland we kneel, why do we do this so differently? I would have thought that all of the mass is the same no matter where you go? Surely we should kneel when we are asked to pray?
    God bless you all and all you hold dear 🙏

    ST. POPE JOHN PAUL II: “The new evangelization calls for followers of Christ who are unconditionally pro-life: who will proclaim, celebrate and serve the Gospel of life in every situation. The dignity of human life must never be taken away, even in the case of someone who has done great evil. Modern society has the means of protecting itself, without definitively denying criminals the chance to reform. I renew the appeal I made most recently at Christmas for a consensus to end the death penalty, which is both cruel and unnecessary.” - Jan. 27, 1999, St. Louis, Missouri

    I love this podcast but there is a nails on a chalk board moment when I here the phrase “ yer guys’s” these are not proper and are the equivalent of saying “ax” for “ask” in my view. Just saying.

      Even Chaucer used "aks" for "ask" in his writing. I'm not keen on it myself either, but it's nothing new. These are just regional variations of English.

    The HAIL HOLY QUEEN line of the rosary reads as follows:
    *HAIL HOLY QUEEN, mother of mercy; our life, our sweetness, and our hope*
    So roman catholics praying that line are condemning themselves because they are making Mary out to be the source of LIFE in whom they put their HOPE. This is in direct contradiction to what the bible has to say about who the LIFE and HOPE is for the born again Christian:
    Romans 15:12 *And again, Isaiah says, 'The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; IN HIM the Gentiles will HOPE.*
    Colossians 3:3-4 *For you died, and YOUR LIFE is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When CHRIST, WHO IS YOUR LIFE, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory*
    1 John 5:12 *The one who has the Son has this eternal life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this eternal life.*
    You have been warned countless times but have hardened your hearts against the clear warnings repeatedly given to you. You will reap what you've sowed.

    Mary had sin because she was not God. You cannot live a sinless life unless you are God. "Full of Grace" does not mean sinless. Because "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."

    • @janeyount8412
      @janeyount8412 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      "All have sinned" is a generalization. What sin has a newborn baby committed, for example, or a neurologically impaired person, etc.?
      In Mary's case, God protected her from sinning before the fact, and this is supported in Jude 24-25, "Now to him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you without blemish before the presence of his glory with rejoicing, to the only God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and for ever."
