I think sometimes the idea of God's mercy is misunderstood. It sounds like we're saying that God will just let anybody into Heaven even if they hate Him. I think that the way the Lord converted me is an example of how He shows mercy even to the dying, even at whatever moment in God's eyes is the "last moment." In my experience of God's mercy, I was converted by a dream. In a fraction of a second, I understood that Jesus is real, that He's alive, that He has all the power and all the love, and that He had come for me in this remarkable way. I fell head over heels in love with Him. I gave my life to Him, saying, "Lord, I'm yours Body and soul, do whatever You want with me." He led me to the Catholic Church, and I've been a happy, grateful Catholic now for over 30 years. I think that what He did for me is something like what I imagine He does for others at the moment of death -- whenever that is, in His eyes. I think He reveals Himself to each individual in a personal way, and they have a "last chance" to accept Him as their Savior. It's pretty much an instantaneous experience. There's still the possibility of refusal, although honestly, it's nearly impossible to refuse when in that moment you know absolutely for certain who Jesus is. That's just my opinion, but I think, from my own experience, it's plausible. There are stories from the Saints and mystics that support this idea. Jesus loves each of us that much. And if He could forgive me, He can forgive anybody.
When I heard that hell is the complete absence of God, it made complete sense to me. If you want no part of God in your life, it makes sense that it will continue in death.

I was baptized catholic, received communion, but never went through confirmation nor had any other meaningful memories of being raised catholic. Now I'm 21 and moving back and forth a lot for college so it's hard for me to form lasting relationships with a church. When I go to mass by myself now I often feel like a child in a man's body and fumble my way through the service every time. Looking for some advice, how should I approach becoming catholic? My family was always nominally catholic and never attended mass besides Easter and Christmas, so all I've really learned about Jesus is what I've learned from reading the gospel on my own with my own interpretations.
You are very strong even if you haven't fully been able to receive the sacraments. It's tough to be a catholic especially as a student. Don't give up going to Mass and learning about Our Church. May the Christ Jesus keep you near His Merciful Heart and protect you. 🛡️🕊️🛡️
Find a Traditional Mass parish by going on line. The FSSP, ICKSP, SSPX etc. They are the places that teach the entire Catholic Faith and have the true Mass and Sacraments.
Transubstantiation says that bread changes substance and becomes the body of Christ. This is biblical as Jesus says this IS my body. Consubstantiation is Luther's version where he said that Jesus comes into bread which remains bread. So Jesus is present but at the end of the service you can throw away the bread as Jesus isn't there any longer. There is no biblical support for this view.
My daughter came yesterday from school and asked about videos advertising the next of times, the 7 years and 7 seals, the eclipse and warnings of not leaving home that day, prophecies… I tend to think that God will provide, and we just have to continue to live in the best imitation of Jesus we can portray, but young people, kids that are in their way to college, she thinks, if the world is going to end, why would I go to school, why would I go to college? My faith has had time to mature with relation to my daughters faith which is still questioning and searching for meaning and truth, as parents, how do we face these times, the words on the Bible about tribulations…
On time someone asked me one time. Why do I pray to Mary? What I told them you know how many times like your parents who uses this when you go to them. You father would say go to your mother. Or your mother would say go to your father.
Agree. The statement misleading. However. I personally do believe it was meant we are to hope and pray. As suppose. How Pope Francis. Blessing same sex couples was misleading.
I am in my 70’s and I was taught, at a Catholic School, that if you aren’t Catholic you won’t go to heaven. Now, I have to believe that God’s mercy will prevail.
What if, stay with me here, that if, when you die and judgement is passed, that you enter heaven (or begin purgatory on your way there) because you’ve accepted and believed everything that is Catholic? Granted it seems easier to do this just by entering the Church while you’re alive. It does seem like most who won’t enter the Church now, want to choose some of what Jesus taught, but not all. And in the end, it’s all or nothing.
Glad you had a blast in Detroit, minus the loss. GU sadness. Did you hear about how the 3 point line was in the wrong spot for the GU Women's game in Portland? I think it messed with us big time. Oh well!
Love the show - some of the claims about the negative issues of contraception were out there - I’m not arguing against contraception from a catholic view - but not credible claims about the potential effects of contraception hurts your argument.
Presumption is an easy sin to commit when a bishop provides the "it is good to hope that hell will be empty" sound bite. This can be seen as a pastoral failure. Most of us don't remember the technical context of that interview, but we do remember what feels good (or bad).
Refreshing to hear you guys correctly debunk the wage gap myth. I recently viewed a video from a well respected priest speak of the wage gap as an “undeniable” truth.
I see the issue with cohabitation. I had an unusual situation. Had my wife not moved in with me, her mother would have lost her health benefits. I won't give myself a pass but I do wonder what the almighty makes of it...we're working on getting convaladated now.
The guy with the baseball cap is so legalistic. I like that Fr. Rich disagrees with him on certain topics in some episodes. It shows the legalistic mindset and rigidity. I agree with many things he says, not all and I appreciate that the other 2 hosts also disagree at times. All in all, a great show.
We are much too relaxed with the idea no salvation outside the Catholic church. It was infallibly defined in a council. The very, very few exceptions to those who do not know about the Catholic Church are few. How can we, as Christians, skim that for earthly feelings. People's souls are at risk. I'm not God. I don't make exceptions. I follow his word. I get it we wish to be kind but through love and courage idk if it's safe to let people think it's not necessary. Notice the except for the last 100 years. Isn't that a scary thought. Watch and pray.
The church. There's a principle that you can't do something evil just because it has some good effects. You might want to talk to a Catholic priest for advice if you are Catholic. on the specifics of your condition.
If you are catholic you could probably get a pass from the Church for your contraceptives if they are keeping you healthy. You arent supposed to use them, but exceptions can be made if necessary.
I think, even as a Catholic, that using contraceptives for therapeutic reasons is not wrong, if nothing else helps. Sometimes, the person taking them is not willing the prevention of conception as an end or a means, but seeing it as inevitable. It really is no different from giving morphine or oxycodone to a terminally ill cancer patient to relieve that person's pain. It is allowed, even though it will hasten that person's death, since it is primarily to relieve that person's suffering. Death is not willed as an end or a means, but only seen as inevitable.
I could be wrong but if you’re taking contraception for medical reasons and not to prevent life, it wouldn’t be a sin….if you’re truly interested in finding the answer, I suggest talking with a priest.
5:51 it’s reasonable to HOPE. It’s not reasonable to THINK. Our HOPE is what drives our prayer. Some of those we hope for will not make it, but we do not know who of those we hope for will be. So we absolutely should be acting on the HOPE that all could go to heaven.
Why would the worst sinner be most deserving of mercy. I'm thinking, so much sin that I avoid is already by the grace of God. Or because I was blessed to be raised with an understanding of God and that we do have relationship with God. So many have no clue about God or love or kindness or selflessness. When God finally reveals himself to this person, He really has to give it them a shot.
The amount of mercy God shows everyone is the same. What the worst sinners will or should realize is to God it is okay his mercy is enough to bridge that gap and for them not to feel too ashamed to ask for forgiveness.
Love your videos. I think that is order to discuss topics such as contraception, birth control and abortion you should discuss it the context with the rise of 2nd wave Feminism in the 1960s.
I was received into the Catholic Church two years ago, after 61 years as a Protestant Christian. For me, the hardest teachings to accept concerned Mary: her lifelong virginity, her assumption, and her queenship. I would actually like to learn more about how we have come to see Mary as the Queen of Heaven. I think about this every time I hear the rosary mystery "The crowning of Mary as Queen of Heaven." (I used Hallow to pray the rosary!) I accept the church's teachings--I would like to learn more about this one.
My understanding: nothing outside of the Church can provide salvation. However those outside of it, if saved, are still saved by His Church...via His mercy, our prayers, our sacrifices, etc.
Regarding is anyone in hell. Didn't Our Lady show the 3 children at Fatima the souls in hell, which was traumatozing to them. They stepped up there prayers for souls due to this. Thus if they saw the souls being tormented in hell, thus, there are people in hell, right?
Please share your sources on suicide rates and contraception plus the other studies you mentioned. Women need to be considered in 2024 as huge contributors to the Catholic church. Mary is significantly venerated.

14:22 the church exists to complete Christ’s sacrifice. It’s not good for man to be alone… and so His bride is created. We are invited to participate in his mission and be an extension and testimony of his goodness. Does he need us? No. He desires us. How awesome.
The bigger scandal is Richard Rohr attributing words to St. Theresa of Avila saying she believed nobody was there (despite having horrific visions of hell)

I hope Jesus can help me be close to that.. ill die trying for sure if anything for my 3 kids.😢

Unless i missed it, the sin of "self abuse" in sexuality is, secularly, harmless and even healthful. I think you guys could discuss the church's position more deeply. We know what the catechism says.
Aren't there some things that are unforgivable, and shouldn't people say that they are sorry first, and why should you love someone if they have caused a great tragedy in your life?
The Church is necessary for many reasons two of which are: 1) it is THE way to salvation 2) it is the vehicle for our gift of free will - if the church did not exist how would we choose between accepting God and rejecting Him?

I was baptized catholic, received communion, but never went through confirmation nor had any other meaningful memories of being raised catholic. Now I'm 21 and moving back and forth a lot for college so it's hard for me to form lasting relationships with a church. When I go to mass by myself now I often feel like a child in a man's body and fumble my way through the service every time. Looking for some advice, how should I approach becoming catholic? My family was always nominally catholic and never attended mass besides Easter and Christmas, so all I've really learned about Jesus is what I've learned from reading the gospel on my own with my own interpretations.
Join your local Catholic Church and go thru rcia - adults becoming Catholic. This will be wonderful for you to learn and come closer to God.
You are very strong even if you haven't fully been able to receive the sacraments. It's tough to be a catholic especially as a student. Don't give up going to Mass and learning about Our Church. May the Christ Jesus keep you near His Merciful Heart and protect you.
🛡️🕊️🛡️
Oh and read the catechism of the catholic church with your scripture readings.
Find a Traditional Mass parish by going on line. The FSSP, ICKSP, SSPX etc. They are the places that teach the entire Catholic Faith and have the true Mass and Sacraments.
The children of Fatima were shown souls falling into help.
“Not every flowers stays like Spring.” I love that 👍
Praying for Father Rich and his mother
Father rich!!! Good show as always 👍
Missing Father Rich, will definitely keep him and his family in prayer 🙏🏻❤️
God Bless You. Thank you so much ❤
God loves us so much that He will give people what they want. If a life without Him is what they want then He will give them that, in abundance.
Love you guys
The hardest part for me to understand completely is transubstantiation vs. consubstantiation and it was not mentioned today.
Jesus said, “I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Not just good episode, GREAT EPISODE!!! I learn so much from you guys and I'm a cradle Catholic (Love being so!)!
Women in the priesthood - the church is modeled after the family. Men are the head and women are the heart.
Yes, God's mercy is infinite. But you must want and desire it. You must ask God for it.
Interesting topic!
Thanks
it make one think about what
we were told through the years
🦋prayers for Father Rich
My daughter came yesterday from school and asked about videos advertising the next of times, the 7 years and 7 seals, the eclipse and warnings of not leaving home that day, prophecies… I tend to think that God will provide, and we just have to continue to live in the best imitation of Jesus we can portray, but young people, kids that are in their way to college, she thinks, if the world is going to end, why would I go to school, why would I go to college? My faith has had time to mature with relation to my daughters faith which is still questioning and searching for meaning and truth, as parents, how do we face these times, the words on the Bible about tribulations…
This reminds me of a song i heard a long time ago when i was a young teen called
If you want to be happy. I guess times haven't really changed
On time someone asked me one time. Why do I pray to Mary? What I told them you know how many times like your parents who uses this when you go to them. You father would say go to your mother. Or your mother would say go to your father.
In St. Faustina's diary she was shown Hell...it was not empty!!!
This! Can’t wait! I bet you dudes will cover contraception, St Joseph the VIRGIN, Freemasonry, and what’s the best sushi to eat on Fridays!
Our Blessed Mother also took the Fatima children to hell and sadly many souls were there.
Yep
This "dare to hope" nonsense is very misleading and dangerous.
I don't know what is happening with Fr. Richard and his mom, but he has the prayers of me and my husband...🙏
great to take on these hot issues
I really enjoy Ascension app. Father Mike Schmitz and his Bible in a year and catechism in the year are there too.
And now the Rosary in a year!
If we rephrase the statement to the negative and say "It is not reasonable to hope that hell is empty", will it change its meaning?
I see the issue with cohabitation. I had an unusual situation. Had my wife not moved in with me, her mother would have lost her health benefits. I won't give myself a pass but I do wonder what the almighty makes of it...we're working on getting convaladated now.
I'd like to hear your thoughts on unbaptized infants going to Limbo instead of Heaven. Thanks.
Please consider changing the notorious bridge music, rock.
Contraception helps me not hemorrhage during my periods and it helps prevent ovarian cysts so where are you getting this information from ?
That’s a good way to put it
Why would the worst sinner be most deserving of mercy. I'm thinking, so much sin that I avoid is already by the grace of God. Or because I was blessed to be raised with an understanding of God and that we do have relationship with God. So many have no clue about God or love or kindness or selflessness. When God finally reveals himself to this person, He really has to give it them a shot.
None of us are deserving of mercy. Mercy from God is a gift.
The amount of mercy God shows everyone is the same. What the worst sinners will or should realize is to God it is okay his mercy is enough to bridge that gap and for them not to feel too ashamed to ask for forgiveness.
Can you defend your faith? I would love to interview you regarding your doctrine. Let me know
Love your videos.
The Davidic Kingdom had a queen who was the mother of the King. Jesus fulfills the Davidic Kingdom as King. Any questions?
Detroit Tigers fan here!
Another topic that would be interesting is the teaching of the resurrection of the body. That one is hard for me.
I’ve been gone for a while, where is Fr.??
Never mind-Found it in comments!
Rosary most powerful weapon!!!
Yes
hello i am not a regular, or i would know. i have seen your show and recently noticed father is missing.
From what i have heard, his mother is Ill.
@@Gaz4113 oh thank you, I will join my prayers with all. merciful Jesus hear us/God bless
How is Father Rich's mother doing? Does she need specialized prayers?
I found the answer. I will pray for both.
@teresa.tells.it.like.it.is.2 please tell me what happened so I can pray
@@Watchdog5705 Apparently Father Rich's mother has cancer. He's taking time off to help her.
Please share your sources on suicide rates and contraception plus the other studies you mentioned. Women need to be considered in 2024 as huge contributors to the Catholic church. Mary is significantly venerated.
Are you guys on Rumble yet?
Where is Fr. Rich?
I was thinking the exact same thing
I've asked this last program and they never answered. What are they hiding?
Father Pagano has taken leave of absence from both his parish and The Catholic Talk Show as he takes care of his mother who has cancer, as well as taking time for some well needed personal rest and care. He is praying for all of you and asks that you pray for him.
@@CatholicTalkShow of course! so sorry for him.
Excuse my TH-cam name please but I am praying for Father Pagano! I’ve been listening to his homilies on TH-cam and he is a very Holy man! Thank you for the topic today as it relates to what has been going on in my journey so far. God Bless!
Hey guys what’s happened to Fr. Richard? Is he okay? Px
How many of us had the church growing up? i didn't, not the way i am trying to have it in my family's life we didn't do it right from the start we are trying to get right its coming together but man i wish i had a father that took the God and his church serious. Unfortunately, we can say what ever but tolerance and men not standing on what the church teaches is why we are where we are. Because i see people that where raised by good strong Catholic parents and the difference in them and then me is astonishing. I hope Jesus can help me be close to that.. ill die trying for sure if anything for my 3 kids.😢
Growing up during the 1970s, many Mothers went to the Catholic church with their kids. Their husbands would stay home. My Dad never went to church with us. Religious education was up to my Mom.
Yeah, Sun Valley is one of those places here in Idaho where rich secular types like to come to. They are in no way representative of the rest of us here in the state.
What’s our soul, if we can lose all memory from brain damage?
You just can’t handle admitting that your church is, in your own words, “insignificant or irrelevant.”
Jesus gave Peter the Keys to the Kingdom.
Unless i missed it, the sin of "self abuse" in sexuality is, secularly, harmless and even healthful. I think you guys could discuss the church's position more deeply. We know what the catechism says.
Can’t believe they didn’t talk about openness to life
Aren't there some things that are unforgivable, and shouldn't people say that they are sorry first, and why should you love someone if they have caused a great tragedy in your life?
There is only one thing that is unforgivable, and no human can do it against you, it can only be done against God.
The Church is necessary for many reasons two of which are: 1) it is THE way to salvation 2) it is the vehicle for our gift of free will - if the church did not exist how would we choose between accepting God and rejecting Him?
