    I knew this priest, Fr Charles, (R.I.P.) a convert to Catholicism in his teens and subsequently got the calling to be a priest in his twenties. At seminary he was doing a holy hour and still was not convinced of its effects or purpose so left half way through and went to read a spiritual book instead. He said it was a large book of about 600 pages and he just opened it and read the first line his eyes we’re drawn to and it read: “could you not sit with me one hour”😂. After that he never missed his holy hour devotion! God bless you Father🙏

    I am a Protestant but have also learned the value of set-apart time with Jesus. (In my case, location is a private quiet special place in my home). When I began to take a daily hour or two in early mornings with Him, it was literally life changing. Emotional healing. Growth. Learning deep and genuine forgiveness. I fell completely in love with Him. I had loved Him for years but the new depth of intimacy built with Him during theses times astounded me. Thank you for these lovely instructions.

      That’s great that you’ve been spending so much time with Jesus from home. And you’re always welcome to visit a Catholic Church for prayer, if you ever wanted to. They can be very quiet, peaceful places. God bless you, Katie

    I've been thinking of converting to Catholicism for a while now. I've really felt drawn to the Catholic Church. I've been reading and praying a lot about it. I live in the states in a small area and finding a more orthodox Church is difficult these days. But I'm looking.
    I thank God for channels like yours that I have found. Just from hearing you talk, really makes me want to go to Church. I wish I lived in Ireland, you'd see me all the time. Lol
    Thank you so much for your videos and your wisdom. May God bless you and all you do. And may God bless and touch everyone who reads this.

      Thank you so much for your kind words. It's been a while since I've been to Church, but I am really feeling called back. I can't believe how much fighting seems to be going on between churches. And the amount of confusion out there. I try to avoid religious politics. I'm just trying to make Jesus proud of me and live the type of life that honors Him. And be around like minded people. That seems to be a hard thing to find these days. Thank you again for your encouragement. And may God bless and keep you.

    You are such a good teacher, Father, thank you for your videos! I am so lucky that I can go to a church in my area (Vancouver, BC,Canada) that has perpetual Adoration....a Eucharistic chapel connected to church...but with separate door. You can sign up in office...get a code # and punch in the code to open the door! It is available 24 hours a day ! Such a blessing.....there should be many more of these.

    It is interesting when you mention Jesus being there "Sacramentally" during Eucharistic adoration and different from prayer at home.

    • @ctmcatholic
      @ctmcatholic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      It’s an important distinction. Not to say that we can’t pray at home (we can and should), but we should also make a special effort to visit Jesus in the Eucharist as often as possible. 😊

    Just to thank you for your wonderful teachings Fr Columba.
    2022 was my first year of attending adoration and I just cannot Express to anyone who has not been what you will experience. I could tell you many incredible things I have experienced but you need to go and experience them for yourself in the way he comes to YOU
    The Lord and God of all of creation is before you, it's just beyond understanding but true and you will know it.
    I said "Jesus I trust in you, I give you my will" please give me yours in return" and he will do something amazing in your life and in adoration.

    Thank you, Father! New subscriber here! I've just discovered the comfort and beauty in my Holy half-hours. It feels like nipping round the corner to my bestie's house for a chat. Praying from home feels like a phone call, the connection sometimes isn't great but in His House, He makes sure I have a great time with Him. He's a good Host.😂 His joke, not mine. 🤣

    I had some really deep spiritual things happen to me in Adoration. My first time was when I was looking for my young adult community. I think it was my first time experiencing Adoration. Anyway it is really awarding. One year I even took the first graders to Adoration. They were all respectful. I taught them a code movement to let me know that it was time to go.

      Absolutely! Check out the local catholic churches to see if they have exposition of the Blessed sacrament. That is when the Eucharist (Host, Bread) is exposed in a monstrance on the altar. If not, you can still sit in adoration in the church before the tabernacle. The tabernacle is usually behind the altar in a large gold box (per se). You will know He's there as there should be a red candle burning next to it.

    • @ctmcatholic
      @ctmcatholic  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes that is a Holy hour! The best case scenario is to pray a Holy Hour in front of the Blessed Sacrament in Adoration, or failing that in front of the Blessed Sacrament in the tabernacle, but a Holy Hour can also be done at home.
