Lived in South Africa for a while - now back here and I just love going fishing in Weymouth using my big 14 to get there and bombing around the lanes in Dorset on the way. Like them so much bought a spare one. Fed up being let down by modern electronics on new bikes.
I’m on my third and it’s a keeper!🤣Best bike of my 62 years riding.
Glad to hear you're still on the road, makes me confident I have lots left to enjoy!
@@Moonfleet41 Keeps you young!😉
No feeling like getting on your motorcycle out for the first proper run in the summer, also Del boy we had our first Motorhome trip to Warwick this week and for the first time I was sporting my dell boys garage T-shirt with pride, after a few days I whinged to my wife that nobody had recognised it, half an hour later we are in the pub and this Aussie ask me what bike I had, I replied how did you know I had a bike? He replied? Dell boy’s garage!!, you were than the subject of conversation with your great teaching methods and contribution helping people, your videos are worldwide Dell, Well done to you and Penny, keep up the great work!!
Hi Paul.. Wow, that's a wonderful story, thank you so much for such loyal support, and to your Aussie friend too, what an honour to be regarded world wide. We're so pleased that they content we offer up to the net can have a use for our fellow riders and maybe make a few lives easier out there in the world.. Take care my friend.. Keep in touch, and have great weekend.. D&Pxx
Fabulous. Bike sounds awesome. Thanks for taking us along with you.
All the hard work was worth it.
Nice to see that you are a great ambassador for bikers riding slow through towns and villages, but the open road is fair game and what great roads you have to ride. Looks like it was a gorgeous day. Therapy for the soul.
ATB and thanks again.
You said that right Alex, it was a great day out and lots of fun, like you say therapy for the soul!
Thanks for the ride Del, I love the curves, hills and the brush cutouts on the trees. Coming from the flat lands of central Canada where I have to ride 4 hours to find a curve and a hill, perhaps you will understand my appreciation of these things, ride on Bro!
Oh thanks buddy, we are very fortunate to have such awesome riding scenery... you don't have to go fast here to have fun, and now summer's here, even better!
Thoroughly enjoyed the vid Del - it's been quite a while since you made a 'riding' video. The change in content was most welcome and harks back to 'the early(er)' days of your channel. Looking forward to a Del + Penny ride out for a cuppa and a sticky bun !!.
Thanks buddy, with so much garage footage behind us now, we are planning to do a little more riding... we'll be investing in some new cameras, so this is a small taste of things to come, glad you approve!... and sticky bun, hell yeah!
@@Moonfleet41
Gday Del,
Great to ride along and hear the sounds.
But, does the sound of the exhaust through your ears when you're on the bike match what we hear when we watch it?
Don't get me wrong, it sounds awesome, l was wondering how close the vid sound is to the live sound.
Great to ride along with you.
Kind Regards
What a glorious sound track. Throttle therapy at its best. Makes me miss my old 14 even more. All the hard graft you put in to the bike was worth it. Now planning a group ride to your neck of the woods to include Zig Zag Hill.
Hey Paul... yeah, i can't think that microphone waffle would ever be better on a ride video than just the sound of the bike working hard... and if you're coming to play around here.. and haven't done Zig Zag before.. then go careful mate.. do at least one tip toe test run up and down to get the lay if it first...two of the inside bends drop steeply like a step and are uneven.. it still catches me out after 30 years..lol.. but if you know it, then you'll already know that.! Ride safe buddy.!
Perfect day! Punchy engine. Enjoy the season on the 1400, Günter/Nürnberg
Hey, I recognize quite a bit of those roads! Wish Melly and I were back riding with ya'll. Cheers!
Mike & Melly
Yeah, wish the same too.. it's the perfect time of year for it too.!
The zig zag hill really something, I wouldn’t mind riding that…. Pretty Kwel…. I’m guessing it’s your favorite spot !!!
It is certainly a good place to hone your skills a little, and nice scenery too.!
Thank you for all your videos & it's nice that you put the side stand in as we've all been there.
Sure thing buddy, just goes to prove how important a working side stand switch is aye!!
Beautiful tour, nice sounding bike. Would appreceate more videos like this on your channel. I always wanted to own a big four cylinder bike but im happy with my two cylinder bike at the moment. Have a great summer! Greetings from Germany.
Thank you kindly for your useful feedback, we were wondering if this kind of video would be popular, which it seems it is, so we'll be doing more of this on the Channel soon!
I like when every time you cross the "slow" marker, you're on the gas! That looks like such a great place to ride. I'm envious.
Go to Dorset, its all good 👍
Sounds an absolute belter mate. Since getting my XJR in February I've a new found love of muscle bikes.
Nice one mate.. glad to hear you're enjoying it !
This was great Del, and reminds me how much I've missed your ride videos! Bike sounds and looks great...awesome to have so much ready Hp to get around those lorries, quickly!! Yeah, our sun is out for a couple days as well and really enjoying it! Best to you both!
Thanks Allen, great to hear from you! We are planning to post a few more ride videos now the summer's here, we're blessed with some beautiful countryside so why not?! Have a wonderful weekend yourself and enjoy the sunshine, D&Px
A proper muscle bike. Has a quite high price on the market.
I haven't checked in lately but it's good to see you're still putting them through their paces in the beautiful English countryside, land of my ancestors....ride safe!
That bike has got to be a rocket ship I imagine. Lots of hard work you have done to it since you got it. Congrats and have fun!
Thanks buddy, sure is, it's a big gentle giant, effortless grunt from nowhere and wonderful unruffled performance!
Watched this last night on my phone and now again on my laptop and the sound of the bike is brilliant, when you open it a bit I can nearly feel the torque😊. A stunning bike Del and wish you the very best with it, ride safe M8 an all the best to yourself and Penny...Don.
Thanks Don, glad you enjoyed it, was nice to be out in the sunshine at long last and a nice from the garage! Have a great weekend there and ride safe! D&Px
Man...are we spoiled in North America with our fat roads/highways!!...you better be watching on these roads!!....beauty scenery....bike runs and sounds great!!...stay safe out there!!😎👍🤙👍🤙🇨🇦
Thank you, guess it's a different dynamic over here, love the tight bendy lanes, you don't have to go fast to have fun! But I would enjoy a big wide clear freeway now and again lol
Lived in England back in 89-90 when my dad was in the US Air Force, miss those winding country roads, dont get those in my area of Texas
Yeah, sounds very different, love the twisties and the small lanes, great fun!
That was great del. Thanks for taking us along for the first ride and that exhaust sounds awesome.
Thanks mate, always good to get out!
There's nothing like the joy of riding and enjoying the motorcycle that you have worked on part by part yourself. Cheers
Couldn't agree more mate, thanks!
Personally, I think the hippie trailer should have been towed by a VW bus. Would have been more appropriate. But DAMN! The countryside in the UK is amazing! Always on the edge of my seat during these vids... driving on the wrong side of the road, houses and hedges right next to the street. I wonder if the people living in those homes have to buy a "just in case someone slams into my house" insurance! Thanks for the ride, and HUGE happy birthday to miss Penny, also!
Hey Doc, you're not wrong, some houses are so on the road that they practically have to get the road closed to clean their windows lol and a few have armco placed round their corner walls, specially in small villages, where you often see thatched roofs getting the edges of the straw stripped off by big trucks! Thanks for birthday wishes for PP, I know she's dropped you a line on FB. Have a great weekend both, take care, D&Px
Well that was a nice toodle through the countryside. And with a proper twisty road thrown in, excellent! Its great to see, and hear, the culmination of all your hard work. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Kelly, glad you enjoyed it. !
Good old muscle bike . Great to see it being enjoyed 👍
It certainly is Michael, proper heavy weight bruiser with bags of grunt ! Glad you enjoyed it !
Haha finally a sunshine day to test it. So glad to see the right clock arrow pointing around number 5. Yeah!
I've owned 2 big Suzie's a GSXR1100wp and a Bandit 1250. Watching this video is making me want another one.
Dorset used to be my riding playground when lived down there. Any chance you could post a link to the location of zigzag hill. I did a rider training course with a ex police rider on that road. I have searched maps for hours trying to find it without luck. He rode that road with only throttle control at a proper pace and didn’t use the brakes once until he had to stop for the roundabout at the end. I was told to follow him staying a constant 3 ft off his back wheel doing the same. This was to help with my throttle confidence and control in right handlers, as I found left ones ok. Naturally I did use the brakes a bit gently, but it was some of the most intense and enjoyable riding I have ever done. It would be great to go back and try to do it again.
At the following coffee stop I was genuinely searching his handlebars for any unusual switches, as I was convinced he was turning his brake light off because I didn’t believe it was possible to slow so rapidly without braking. I have never seen riding skills like that and would love go with him again, but I suspect he’s no longer around due to the time frame and his age at the time. Just to give you an idea, he was on an ST1100 and I was one a Fireblade and I could not keep up with him even after two days of his instruction. (The speed limits were an option).
These two days and Dorset has some special memories for me.
Ah Zig Zag Hill is on Google Maps mate, on the B3081... thanks for sharing your memories!
Loved every second of this video! Your bike is a beast Del, mic work is phenomenal, minimal wind noise just the grunt of that exhaust 👌👌👌
Have a lovely rest of your weekend both of you, enjoy the sunshine 😎 x
Thanks so much Luke.. glad you enjoyed it, it's a pleasure to get out on the road in the sunshine at last..! Thank you for your kind and loyal support as always.. D&Pxx
She’s a snarlin’ darlin’ for sure! Excellent purchase, excellent upgrades. Well done! And what a glorious day for a christening.
Thanks Guy, she is a lot of fun, and a wonderful gentle giant!
All the garage work... WORTH IT! Sounds great too 👍
Thanks buddy.. great to be out on it !
Very enjoyable delboy. I must have missed your upgrade vids and will check them out. Have had my k6 for 13 years so have changed it many times. Just put braided hoses on the front wish ide done that many years ago. An excellent bike and a keeper. Am looking at yss rear suspension at the moment.
Hi Del, I do miss the UK at times, seeing that ride reminds me of my home in north wales but i think you should come and have a motorcycle ride here in Otago NZ. When you get out of the towns theres less traffic brilliantl scenery and sometimes you'll be out and not see any other traffic at all. Great times, best wishes and ride safe mate.
Sounds like a great place to ride mate, and yes need to make more time for getting out and riding, probably over the winter been so engrossed in the garage! When life rolls back a bit, that's what we need to do, what a beautiful place you live! Ride safe mate!
Sounds AMAZING, brutal torque, no stress.Nice.
Sure thing buddy, she's a big gentle giant!
What dangerous roads!... narrow, no hard shoulders, high walls, no visibility... definitely for the brave ones. Greetings from Spain
Thank you Edu, it's certainly a challenge to ride tight roads, always important to be careful.
Going to be watching this a lot through the winter I feel to get my riding kicks 😊
Too right buddy, let's hope this winter is not a long one!
Great to see you enjoying yourself on the GSX 1400 ! sounds glorious ! Enjoy Del , you have earnt it mate !
Thanks buddy, great to be out!
Hiya Del, I rode those roads today. I live in West Moors, set off from home about half 2, up to Three Legged Cross, up past the Horton Inn, through Tollard Royal, stopped off at Compton Abbas airfield cafe for tea and a baguette, then carried on down Zig Zag hill and up to Shaftesbury, then back down to the Blandford bypass, then down to Wimborne past Kingston Lacy, back up to the Horton Inn, then Three Legged Cross and home at West Moors. A really great sunny Friday afternoon ride, but after an hour, the Speed Twin's standard seat is considerably less than comfortable. I recognised some of the lanes, but where else did you go?
Hi Neil, sounds like you had a great ride today, great to have some decent weather at last... I did a round ride, just taking in my favourite roads... up the A350, through the s-bends at Child Okeford, you probably noriced Shaftesbury, then down to the bottom of Zig Zag for a couple of passes up and down, then straight over the top and through Tollard Royal, like you... as you know that follows on to Sixpenny Handley and then followed the Cranborne road all the way to Wimborne and up through Cramborne Chase to Kingston Lacey to finish! I ran out of camera card space at that moment and had only taken one for each camera! Loads of other roads, routes and villages as you know, so I'll probably do a few more of these as it seems they're very popular!
@@Moonfleet41 hi Del, it must be me, but I'm fin going down Zig Zag hill, but going up, I never get the bends right, I always seem to lose my rhythm. Maybe next time i'l go up in "rain mode" which softens the throttle. In road or sport mode, riding round on very little throttle can at times be very snatchy.
Sure thing mate, up is defintely harder than going down, and everybody runs wide on the left handers... I just leave my Scrambler in sport mode all the time and just slip the clutch in 1st, it works real well... Zig Zag is most certainly useful practice for throttle and clutch control! Anybody who thinks they can rag up and down it has probably never ridden it lol and the proof is, the amount of bikes that have ended up in the woods!!
What a Beauty! Great job Del. Well worth all the effort and upgrades you put in. Great weekend to U&P.
Thanks Shaun, glad you enjoyed it, have a great weekend too mate, stay safe! D&Px
Great roads, and the bike sounds fab. Everything works as it should now, including the side stand switch. And there was me thinking I was the only one 😂👍🏻
No buddy, I think we all do it, but thank god for them aye, the first left hand corner would not be enjoyable!
That thing purrs like a beast! Beautiful views on that ride mate. I'm a bit jealous I have to haul out of the suburbs for a while to get something half as decent. Congrats on the new toy & enjoy the weekend you two! 😎🤙🏽🏍
Thanks buddy.. it's wonderful to be out in the sunshine... i think we'll be doing a few more ride videos in future.. ive really missed it.! Have a great weekend too and stay safe mate !
Nice, runs and sounds great. Gotta say, those roads though. Beautiful!
Thanks buddy, we are blessed to live in such a beautiful place!
Some absolutely amazing scenery to be riding in. And the bike just makes it that much better.
You're so right Adam, was a glorious day and get to get out!
My old van didn’t like zig zag hill one bit but your suzzi sure did great stuff 👍
Ha ha.. that hill is a test for any vehicle aye. !
the sound is amazing, and you can tell that she has a lot of power. Enjoy my friend you deserve it.
Thanks mate, am glad you enjoyed it, it's great to get some good weather!
That exhaust sounds nice❤ thinking about getting one on mine .
I have a 91 gsx1100g recently purchased with 40,000 miles on it with the stock exhaust.
Can't wait to do upgrades and maintenance to this bad boy got a few things in mind as well Del 😂
What a fabulous bike Charles, basically, a Gixer/Bandit hybrid.. with Shaft Drive.. perfect muscle bike for every day.. ! have fun with it and enjoy mate !
@Delboy's Garage yes sir it is a fabulous bike for sure I commute everyday to work with it and it has plenty of power.
I bought it from an old man who kept it in the garage and took very good care of it.
I purchased this bike for $650 from the old man and this bike amazes me everyday.
Did not know what I got till after I started researching the bike💪😎
Long-time subscriber I love all your videos Man you do such great detailed work👍
@@charlesconklin3868 Sounds like you got a gem there mate, enjoy and ride safe! Thanks for your long term support.
Englands green and pleasant lands ❤ We emigrated to NZ 20 years ago. I miss England every day. Now you’ve ruined my weekend Del. In a good way though. 👍
Sorry buddy, that wasn't intended! And I'm really shocked you say that as I thought NZ, or at least parts of it, was some of the most beautiful places in the world... thanks for watching mate, have a great weekend!
Would love to hear that on full chat going up the rev range, not possible on small roads, but the track maybe. Beautiful Dorset. I was stationed at Bovvy and Lulworth. Did my laundry in Wareham in the laundrette there on Sundays. Very beautiful county.
Hi Tony.. you're right, it would be great to rev it out in ever gear.. but even doing that in third takes you over a ton.. so not clever in tight country lanes.. there's hardly any Police about, that's not the danger.. it's jaywalking wildlife that'll spoil your day..lol!
Sounds great and looks like a lot of fun to ride! Some fantastic roads too - some of which I have been lucky enough to be on this week as well. Hope you are well mate and catch up soon!
Hey buddy.. really, have you been local then.?
@@Moonfleet41 yep, been staying in Landford all week on holiday with the wife and little one so we have done a fair bit of exploring this week
@@MintyGusto Perfect weather for it mate, hope you've enjoyed!
@@Moonfleet41 we did, but came home this morning so it's back to reality with food shopping, clothes washing and lovingly staring at the bikes until I get a chance to get out on em
Great sounding bike. Those tiny roads would shit me to tears and so many villages to have to travel through. Come to Oz where you could really stretch the legs. Thanks for the upload.
I would love to mate.. but sadly, i have so many reasons that can't happen..
@@Moonfleet41 No worries, Ride On!!
I know those roads, some excellent riding around here.
The best!
Beautiful countryside, beautiful roads and beautiful weather. Doesn't get much better than that Del. Zig Zag Hill must be the UK version of Tail of the Dragon. I'm surprised how close many of the houses are to the road surface. Considering the average skill level of US drivers many of them would be Drive-Thrus in short order. Thanks for the ride-along. Blessings and safe riding to you and Penny. ❤👍👍
Sure thing Rick, it is a challenge, but not enjoyable tbh, the switchbacks are far too tight, and they drop in height like a step, you can't ride if fast, no matter how fast you are! Penny rode this on her Harley some years ago and it's always a challenge, unlike the Dragon that's 17 miles of fast bends... not to mention the glorious canyons you have there in the mountain ranges! Have a great weekend and be safe! D&Px
Great little make over Video, Del. Detail and knowledge is spot on. Enjoy your rides. :-) Thanks, Vinny. 😊
What a wonderful ride. Great roads, beautiful sunshine, bike well sorted and running good. Cannot ask for a better day. Enjoy the ride, Del... wish I were there to tag along. Take care.
Thanks Don, that would be great, we could take you round all the twisty lanes and tiny villages and there are also some breathtaking places to stop and admire the view!
Glad to see you do get out in the sunshine once in a while. The bike sounds really nice.
Yes Steve, with work, life and You Tube, it is a challenge finding time for a ride sometimes, so yep, good to make it happen!
Nice little run brother. Good to see you out and about for a change. One bend on that road looked exactly like a bend on Porlock Hill, my old neck of the woods. Came back from the kitchen ….. WTH is he doing in Somerset? Then all became clear. Hope you two are well man. Been a long time.
Thanks buddy, it was a great day out... and i guess all country lanes look similar in the end aye !! and you're right, it has been far too long.. it'd be good to catch up for a brew before this years out !
Nice to see you out among the shrubbery and hedges again! 🏍
Lovely bark off that GSX sounds great nice spin Del
Cheers buddy !
Nice work - the 14s are an awesome machine. My front brakes take a good oul squeeze to pull her up , I’ll have to do the steel hose upgrade. Safe riding - I’m actually gonna take mine out for a blast right now.
Sounds like a freaking Spitfire! Love it!
Ha ha.. it is a cheeky sound..!
Awesome video brother ! looks like you guys have the best roads there , weather looked great ! Bike sounds badass, we drive on the right side here and it's terrifying seeing you ride on the opposite side 😂 gotta get used to it brother !!! Stay safe guys cheers from New York !!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much for you're kind words as always brother.. I guess it's normal to us to drive on the left, same as you on the right.. Just as long as all the other traffic does the same on the same day.. it's safe .lol! Take care and have a wonderful weekend both of you.. D&Pxx
for me the best-sounding motorcycle.
Sounds great! Nice video! Sort of takes me to the FROs!
She sounds awesome!!😊
Thanks Mark..
Absolutely loved this series. Have an xjr1300 so have copied most of what you have done on my own bike.
Nice one buddy, glad it helped, and what a wonderful bike you have! The XJR has to be without doubt the best of the muscle breed!
The same game I loved to play when I had my Street Triple.
Sure thing Russ, nothing better than getting the bikes and riding them aye?!
Love the GSX1400. Pulls from nothing. As long as it has a few revs, it'll roll on in 6th from crawling pace. I'd love one aside my B-King.
You're right, The torque curve seems endless.. pulls from 1500 and never seems to run out of grunt !
Runs and sounds great Nice work Del 👍
Thanks buddy..
Brilliant Del and Penny. Very well done. What a beautiful place to ride. That big Suzie sounds like the bomb.
Yeah we're very lucky to live in a beautiful place, perhaps we'll do some more!
Lovely to see a bit of Dorset countryside, on TH-cam and taking in a bit of zig zag Hill. Up and down in the same day 😂😂 ride safe. (Back at ya)
Thanks Andy. Glad you enjoyed it mate !
I think the Del-o-meter was off the scale 😃 sounds awesome, what better way to clear the old brain fog 🤘🏻
Sure did buddy, glorious weather, must get out more!
looked like you picked the right day to have a great ride Del, bike sounded awesome. Lovely countryside
Sure thing mate, great to have some fine weather at last!
Bike sounds great Del, you have some good roads down there 👍
Thanks mate.. we sure do.
You defo go on some beautiful rides Del and the Bike sounds awesome
Thanks Brian, you're very kind... apart from the trucks and caravans in summer, we are lucky to have some beautiful roads to ride!
Awesome! And what a superb day for the inaugural ride 😃 Are the handlebars turning out to be as you hoped, comfort wise? They look that way. Their shape reminds me of the great days of Superbike Class racing with Spencer/Lawson/Cooley/Crosby etc.
Sure thing buddy, they're the perfect riding position for me, slightly leant forward and nice and wide for lots of leverage... was a good day out!
Well done and great score brother. What a soundtrack. Made my Saturday brekky much more enjoyable. ❤❤
Thanks buddy, glad you enjoyed, was so good to get out in the sunshine and enjoy some summer at last!
She’s a beast of a bike , she goes well good job del 👍
That is one great sounding bike my friend......I just love a standerd styled bike.....very versitale and comfortable. I miss my KZ1000 of old......rock on my friend!
Point. Squirt. Brake. Lean. Repeat!!!😍
Yeah.. exactly that who needs waffle and vlog lol!
i wonder what the difference is between the bandit 1200 and the 1400 i,ve had 3 bandit 1200,s great bikes i,m thinking of a1400 next
I've had Bandits too mate, you could easily say the 14 is a grown up heavier version, but not in body weight, as they weigh the same, more in just their 'grown up' feel... the bigger capacity makes them lower revving with more grunt, they pull from tick over and you don't need to rev them past 5-6k, they just pull like a steam train. If you love a Bandit, then you'll absolutely love a 1400!
@@Moonfleet41 thanks del
I love any type of muscle bike plus add in some twisty roads and a drop of sunshine and you've the ingredients for a great day. The hard work has paid off yet again mate, nice one 👍️
Yeah was good to get out mate, and nice decent weather as well, what more could you want! May do it again on the Scrambler soon...
Great sound and plenty of good old power.....wonderful job as always...nice twiste
Thanks Patrick, we do have some beautiful roads to ride!
Lovely sound and great clips. Have fun.
Looks great and sounds great, nice small project👍
Thanks Mark, glad you enjoyed it!
This was awesome, Del! Must feel great to be riding her after doing all that wrenching… beautiful roads you selected! Loved how you left the side stand bit in the vid- that was funny stuff. Tell me though, does she feel as heavy as she appears? Regards to both of you… 🏍👍🏍
Hi Gary, thanks for your kind words... just testing the water to see if a ride video now and again is popular and it certainly seems to be! It is a bulky bike, but not heavy... only a shade over 200kgs, the same weight as my 1200 Scrambler... I think it more looks heavy than is heavy! Have a great weekend both, D&Px
@@Moonfleet41 Good stuff, Del- yes the ride videos are good because we get to see you enjoy the bikes after all your hard work on them. Simple as that! Enjoy… 😎
Great to see you enjoying the big Suzuki Del
Sounds really raspy.

Cheers mate, it was good to be out the garage!
nice one Del, good to see you out again
Thanks Tony.. good to hear from you mate !
Great video Del & Penny. Excellent roads you have to ride mate and the big Suzuki sounds so sweet. Who said you could steal our sun shine LOL. Hope all is well with both, have a great weekend, take care. Cheers
Thanks buddy, it is a blessing to have some sunshine at last, but knowing English weather, don't worry, it'll be back with you shortly! Enjoy your weekend, keep safe, D&Px
That sounds like a beast. Love it
Cheers buddy.
Great video, how would you compare the handling on this bike versus a modern bike ?
Great bike, what kind of exhaust and mirrors are those? :)
Beautiful country! Nice sounding bike!
What a cracker of a day for a ride. Satisfying I bet 👍
You did a fantastic job on the bike.
Thank you George !
Hi Del you picked a nice day for it mate All that hard work paid off looks great sounds great Ride safe mate🏍👍

It certainly accelerates with authority!
