Another Classic...One of my top ten Songs!! Wore it out on the record player over & over!!!! Time travel to the 60'S!! Rare Earth rules....Still!!! Rock on......FOREVER
All i can say is thank you, but it is from the depths of that place in my heart that knows boundless pleasure and joy. I love, love this song and thought this group had so much soul. Mind u, I was a southern child from Alabama in college when I heard these men groove like this, did we tear the dance floor up at Tennesse State? Yes, thank you
One of my favorite saxophone solos, the one at the beginning. When the song was first released, I was pining away for my first experience with puppy love. And the sax solo would just make me wallow in it. Such sweet pain..
ESTA ES UNA ROLISIMA, LA ESCUCHE EN MI INFANCIA Y HASTA LA FECHA LA SIGO ESCUCHANDO, ADEMAS ME HACE RECORDAR ESA EPOCA DE MUSICA CON GRANDES BANDAS Y MUSICOS, ES GRANDIOSA, GRACIAS RARE EARTH.
i saw them in 1971 in Jackson Mich and the show was great ! i saw them in chicago 1990 and they were great ! why they never made it BIG TIME i will never know ? they rocked the livin shit out of bot places and everyone loved the show ! this is one of the finest rock tunes ever.
I cannot express my feelings the first time ,some 40 years ago when I was a college student, I listened to this wonderful peace of art. I listened to it times and times ,danced to it, loved it, and still I love it because it puts me in the mood of those good old days.
Love this song! Played songs many many times - while sitting in my 1970 Camero. After I rebuilt the Top End - I took it out on 101 to South San Jose, long straightaway & see if I had a bite??? (someone wanting a race) yep sure enough!!! always a fool out there thought their car can beat mine!!! Some almost made it - till I see them drop back with clouds of smoke trailing em!!!! hahahaha ..... My '70 Camero should have been called 'Get Ready', With an Odometer showing 140 MPH ..... ! it pegged!!!
Still find it just as emotive. Was the first ever record I had bought all those years back. Brings a lump in my throat every time I listen to it. Nostalgia, eh...........
Been a Rare Earth fan myself and threading back to my own band of hippy years in the late 60s with locks as long as John Mayall... met my beloved then, sneaked her off from my cousin 2B honest but only for a few weeks.... She became my wife coincidentally after we both skip, flew & hop around the world separately (studies related) and landed at Piccadilly Circus under Eros fountain by Shaftesbury / Oxford Avenues in London and we never left each other since then.
UN TEMAZO DE SU EPOCA.PRECURSORES DEL ROCK RELAJANTE...!que momentos de mi vida en Playa de Aro, Palma de Mallorca,Andorra....Tenia 12 años y aún la recuerdo en las discotecas.
Do you folks remember the show "Wonder Years"? That show put visual image about that time period. Well Rare Earth "Get Ready" is exactly the same. Year, 1969 and at camp for the summer. This started playing and I had my first slow dance. Yes, I said slow because as you know how the song starts. Who knew? I did not I was just happy to be having my first slow dance with my first girlfriend. However, this song set up my music taste for the last 41 years. New Age, Jazz, Rock and Soul.
21 years old in a disco \club magaluf 1st time i heared it had to buy it when i got home the other one that blew me away was hazel o conner when oh that sax solo kel
Played this song everywhere..........to and from: weight-lifting ....Kenpo Karate .....kicking an idiots butt that did not like me listening to Rare Earth.....I just loved this music playing in my 70's Camero ........I personally re-built top end....when punched - out ......she buries the odometer........(past 140 mph) ..............so much fun !!!!! yay !!!!

@Stateless1953 Explosion of Creativity, You are so right. I've resurrected my album collection from the storage world and built a vintage Bang and Olufsen system that no one could afford back in the day. Wow, my house does jam again.
