    As an Irishman I would blame the English. Respecting property rights has nothing to do with rewarding theft. The stolen property must be returned to the black people of South Africa i.e. the rightful owners, that is how to respect property rights. Even today, cut gem stones are one of Englands biggest exports. Those stones should be returned to the people who dug them out of the rock because they were never properly compensated for their work. As for Afrikaners, I don`t have a problem with them but I think the word Orange should be erased from all place names in South Africa.

      Afrikaaners never stole land, if you remove Africa out of the equation everyone has land. You equating black Africa with South Africa were both Zulus and colourds have always resided.
      In 94 the borders were flooded making all South Africans a minority. So please explain exactly what land must be returned? What you are alluding to is that whites have no claim to any land here yet we the last of white people a minority of an entire continent that cannot answer a question on land... It's not as if Africa doesn't have resources, this debate is always about enslaving whites, if you ad Europeans want whites gone here then why have you not offered repatriations or citizenship to whites globally? Are you hearing the debate, they want whites to do everything while blacks continue after 50 years to sit back and reap it's communism 101... Whites in Africa are anything but communist

    The land issue is not about food and money, it's about humanity and dignity of our people. this issue of land is too personl to me and the other black society

    • @zintlemvana7955
      @zintlemvana7955 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      The land issue is about food and money and dignity and identity and liberation. South Africa is not a free society while black people live like squatters on their own land. Remember that as Africans we have deep cultural ties to land but land is also more than a site where human dignity is restored, land ownership means we can feed ourselves independent of the larger market economy. That's why they won't let js have the land because black people are their biggest consumer base and the more independent we become the less profits they will rake in as we shift from a consumerist society to a society that produces goods.

      Maybe blacks should start to answer the question on homelands. It's blacks that can't find a solution... Reality remains that without SADC black Africa is a minority a very small one in South Africa as the colourds and Zulus along with whites make up almost 90% of the population

      Thank you, brother. Thomas Sankara was resolute enough to make Burkina Faso a country that grew its own crops and developed its own textile industry rather than import what his country could produce. South Africa does not belong to us, we sell raw minerals and buy back the finished products from Europe, North America and Asia. We could easily process these minerals ourselves but we have no backbone to actually stand on our own feet. We always want to be dependent on other countries.

    As a young Xhosa man who has spent all his life in South Africa, what I find interesting is how our 'black people' will be yelling in debate panels about we as black people need help when all the black people in that panel have so much money they could feed half of that room every year and the money they have is taken from the very same people in that room they call 'our people'. I was taught charity begins at home, but ke that's just me.

    Keep up the good work. How ever,it is time to walk the talk. Land is collective wealth. People should have access based on ownership. The ANC & the EFF should sink their differences to promote small farm holdings. The conversation holds hope,but time is running out... Solidarity greetings from Nigeria.

    • @lightningRatPack
      @lightningRatPack ปีที่แล้ว

      They both do nothing but promote money in their pocket. Both have done nothing for the people. EFF just spend R150mil on a party. Why not buy land for the people or build a school like they promised. I guess a party is more important.

    Subsistence farming is backward and unproductive. If South Africa wants to be competitive and eliminate poverty then it needs large scale farming, and only a few people have the knowledge and money to invest in those industries. Whoever owns the land owns the land, whoever wants to buy it can make an offer.

    By having a government that is totally transparent, working for the people. Improving people’s quality of life, improving living standards. Putting the tax payers money towards roads, services, housing, schools etc will automatically improve living standards and unite people and create equality within societies. You will never get out of this situation while the ANC are in control filling their pockets with money.

      @@WaEnterprise You lie to yourself with such a pity party, poor me attitude! You were not alive when the land was sold, bartered for, or given or taken in combat. The bible says not to envy, Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors house, wife, servant, ox, donkey (property) or anything that is your neighbors’. Exodus 20: 17. Why? Because it will make you sick, hateful, and full of vitriol! The people who ended up with the land had skills, they worked their butts off developing it, turning it into productive land, either farms or mines or resorts! They paid a price! You see it centuries later and want to steal it back, after all the work is done and cry and whine because you don’t have it and you think there is injustice to you. That is a lie out of the pit of hell! Look at your own efforts. Did you design and pave the roads, develop oil, figure out the electrical grid, or the cell phone you use? If you didn’t you are benefitting and riding on the backs of all those who came before who took a chance on their ideas and invested their life blood, energy and money to do so. Grow up and earn your own way and stop all the hateful and dangerous attitudes which only foment ugliness and murderous schemes.

    Our desire is for all black south africans to own their lands but in a peaceful way and experience freedom we have. It's so sad to see how they're being treated in their own country....

      This is the problem. We should learn from Australia, New Zealand and USA. Not Zimbabwe. South African was a powerful nation. The superpower of Africa. And the black rule has failed us as it did in the rest of Africa. South Africa is supposed to be a first world country by now...our governments are corrupt. Yes there was racism... But the rand was competing with the pound and standard of living was so high that even Europeans wanted to immigrate to South Africa back then. Black rule has failed us. The new world is a white man's world. We should have bought in and share the power and work fro' there.

    trying to sort out an African problem with a white law and reasoning (commercial oriented), the African will start singing hahahaha. To an Africa his land is any land where his or her ancestors are buried. Doesn't matter if i have money or not. That's the point that the chief was making. We are just custodians and soon we will be ancestors too. Foreigner or local, constitutional law or customary law, what's important is fairness and understanding that blacks are the real and original owners of African Land and of they decided to share their land FOR FREE with travelers why should the traveler ask for payment when the owner of the land wants back?

    1. I cannot over emphasize how utterly disabling it is to progress and social justice to have bunch of self serving lazy and greedy alcoholics running the state.
    2. Besides colonial powers cutting Africa up into pieces without consideration of the societies, then having enforced racial segregation. You have many different people, with shared history but different experiences of it. That shaped our lives and perspectives drastically.
    3. Qaulity decolonized education for the masses. About the past, present and future.
    4. Exceptional visionary leadership abd governance.
    5. Accountability both individual and collective.
    Those are some of the things that can save us.

    if you look at Zimbabwe, you can see what happens when you simply strip people of the landf and give it to someone else. that country was known as one of the biggest netto producers in africa, and where are they now? so yes, the land should be redistributed to its rightful owners, but not without thought of what they are going to do with it. if not much, the nation will grow poorer. if not much, there are gonna be just as many people going hungry, just as many stay poor and the farmer, who had it before, will probably leave alltogether. is this the plan for the future? question should be.......can the farmer still be good with half the property? or 30%? cuz whether you like it or not, a lot of jobs and livelyhoods are in the balance of just that 1 farmer..............and there are 100s of them.

    under whose name was the land when it was transferred to white people paperwise,and if the whites claim that they came with everyone else here how come the majority of the land and wealth is in the hands of the whites then and not equally devided amongst everyone because the reason why whites all of a sudden say the land belongs to the Khoisan people is because they don't want to share it equally which is why we're here in the first place..
    Okay if you are saying that there were title deeds in the name of Khoisan people before the whites came here and took it then why are we debating give it all back to the Khoisan people then everyone else,colourd,black,white,indians and Asians will have to go back to where they came from or submit to the Khoisan people.....lol....wolla!!
