  • Welcome back all,
    In this weeks upload I am forced to work on the ST after it developed a misfire on cylinder 2. In the video I show my full diagnostic steps before replacing the faulty injector that ford had only just fitted last year! I quite regularly see this fault whilst scrolling through the owners pages on Facebook, so I hope this video is helpful to anyone watching that wants or needs to change an injector on their fiesta ST.

    When I worked at ford Bridgend engine plant that built the st engines we fitted the bosch injectors and fuel rail as one unit if a injector came away from the fuel rail the rail was rejected and sent back to bosch for them to refit the seals because of the risk of fuel leaks. Also when we fitted the fuel rail we used fitting pins on outer bolt holes to locate the rail and then fitted bolts to the inner rail holes and 1st stage torque them and then remove the fitting pins and fit the outer bolts and 1st stage torque them and finally do the final torque up in 2,3,1,4 order. Sorry I can't remember the torque settings 😕

      Ver interesting information, thank you for commenting! I couldn't find the torque settings but I haven't had anymore issues yet 🤞🏻

    Just a question if you know. The HPFP electrical connector is the same with the injector connector?

      Unfortunately I don’t know if they are the same 👍🏻

    I thought modern injectors have a calibration code on them which has to be entered into the EMS?

      Some injectors do need to be programmed, it usually depends on the manufacturer. These injectors you don’t need to programme 👍🏻

      Hello mate, not a clue on the part number. I'd suggest riding up your local ford dealership and speaking to the parts department. If you give them your reg they will be able to price a injector up and tell you the part number 👌🏻

    No coding needed for new injectors?

    • @Mk2Mitch
      @Mk2Mitch  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2
