    • @MrZimmaframe
      @MrZimmaframe 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Ye because the piston rings over heat and over expand creating a better seal and thous higher compression but then they obliterate from the excess heat and friction lol. Steve could try putting a tea spoon of engine oil down into the suspect cylinder to see if it helps compression, if it does it means it's your rings, but if not it is the valves (could be from valve float). Either way there is enough second hand engine parts floating around on Ebay you could just hone the damaged cylinder wall depending of severity and then replace the piston rings. If it is a valve just replace it and then lap the valve.

    Sorry to see that. The plugs are jet black - my first thought is that it is running way too rich and that contributed to increased temps and eventual mechanical failure.

    I told you Steve on Instagram. That's what happens when you go TRS. It's unsafe as fuck. There's a reason why so many companies are swapping engines from TRS customers.

    Gutting mate! when you reinstall look to get some EGT's in the manifold. swagelock presure tappings with some K type thermocouples. It may have just been on the limit. Big time gain on track, awesome.

    I would say it your piston ring on one piston, hopefully you can do some of the work your self and maybe some mods to the engine, like harden vales and better piston too, good luck on your fix

    TRS mapping? Should have stuck with maxed, many cars on very high milage. I know it can happen but so soon after that "custom map" .....
    Gutted for you mate.😪

    i think the piston rings and pistons on these engines are more prone to failure than anything else, if im not mistaken the rods are forged from factory

    Feel devastated for you Steve,but I'm interested to see inside the mill to find the problem.

    Would be good to see a tear down, just to see what happened.. It would also expose any weak points, that could be potentially fatal to the replacement engine...

    Bloody hell Steve, that’s rotten luck. I’d love to watch a video or 3 of you pulling the engine and replacing it.

    Really sorry to hear about your engine, I experienced a lot of spark plug problems when I had mine (funnily enough, spirit blue too) but it became that much of an issue I had to part Ex it in the end 😞 sorry you’ve had to go through this with yours, hopefully you get the new engine soon 👍🏻
