Tony Yost and Mike Stack were both in my Company in 10th Group back in the day. Dan Petitory was on my Robin Sage ODA. Happy to see them honored and remembered!
There's a reason I talk about Run N Guns till I'm blue in the face. They are the closest you will get to putting yourself in stressful situations and having to perform. It's a great way to test your gear and your fitness level amongst every other thing you can test. You will re-evaluate your gear and your approach to difficult tasks. You can't just take classes, you have to go out and apply what you've learned. Get out there! 💪
I know in my life I get caught up with work and bills but since I’ve got onto your channel I have a greater appreciation for all military for the sacrifice of my freedom thank you very much not all of us are capable of going beyond the ordinary but the special few that do I congratulate them all
I hope the widows recieve lifetime financial assistance that actually takes care of things. TR, thank you for taking the time to be with the families during their time of heeling. I'm sure whoever kids you were teaching, the Dad would have wanted it that way. 👍
I would love to see footage of you, Randy and the rest of the TR crew actually run this, maybe we could do it with some patrons next year as a fund raiser or something?
Thanks for this video Karl - I had not heard of this competition before or Chapter 38 but now that I have I will support it in some way. Again, great video Karl.
America needs men to step forward, be brave and serve . These men did it. Much respect. if it were easy everyone would do it. Thanks for the content Karl.
I really need to do one of these events. I might have to plan for next year. Oh, and Karl, just an idea but is there any way that you might be able to go over how to travel and board planes and bringing your firearms with you. I've noticed that the TSA is different on how they handle this in every state which is very frustrating! Maybe even have an experienced TSA agent on the show and do a step by step. Just a thought.....
SGM I wish I knew you were In the area. I’m about 40 minutes from there and would have loved the opportunity to buy you a steak and beer. Keep up the good work!
I have the near exact copy of the M92 setup in your intro, sans FDE. Great truck gun for me. Re: ATS -- have messaged them a couple times encouraging them to make a British bail out bag equivalent of NSN 8465-99-213-3719 with a med kit component. That'd be $ - $ - $ IMO. As is, the British bag is my favority bail out bag, including vs modern civilian production... Re: Ashby -- my Gpa was the SF team leader/team MSG at the 1st battle of Lang Vei -- where the camp was also overrun and tanks also used (confirmed in official US Army SF History of Vietnam book) and he and dead bodies were repeatedly blown up w/ grenades over hours in the command bunker -- effectively the same story as far as troops on the ground as the Night of the Silver Stars you reference... His CO and XO failed to put the camp on alert despite his warnings of engaging on a week+ -long running firefight with forward elements of a division+ -sized force while on patrol (a lot more politics of that moment echoing today can be discussed), both were shot with him in the line of fire that killed them on the very same night he returned to base... My gpa was ultimately combat disabled and nearly two years of recovery and multiple surgeries in Valley Forge... Retired as a captain having reluctantly taken a commission since he had both his bachelors and MBA; limited duty as a JROTC commander in order to achieve partial retirement. That 1st battle of LV was ultimately caused by US Air Force mistakenly napalming the friendly Lang Vei village (policy was to dump/deploy munitions before returning to base as I understand it) in Jan '67 IIRC a few months before my Gpa was assigned to that camp that drove the defections that betrayed the camp/compromised its perimeter to sappers. Press photos/reports of that napalm incident are available online. Less than 6 months later revenge for that incident led to the camp being overrun. In sum, looks like I need to add this shoot to my bucket list...
This sounds like you would have to be an 18 series guy to compete. I have never dropped mortar rounds and haven't called for fire since EIB. So is this competition limited to only those former and current group guys? Cause I was a light fighter and a Stryker grunt and way back when a LRS trooper. So not a current or former operator. Can I look into competing and supporting the event next year? Or would it be something I should send money to support. Is the legion in the name the American legion or a group thing I am not aware of?
Robert, you do NOT have to be a current or former operator. THis is actually built to be fun for civilians with zero experience. The dropping of plastic mortar rounds and talking on the radio is just to add a little extra fun. As a matter of fact, you'll call that portion lame; but it is still a great event that will push you hard.
Hey karl I found I guy you may know by the name Jeff gurwich….I bet you too gave out some great presents in combat together…folks go check out Jeff’s channel nother fine american
Hello Karl, you contacted me about the pwa Commando a night ago. I,ve done some price checking and I don't believe that I could get the cash out of it to get the heathen rifle that I,ve had my eye on. I seen one new in box for $3800. It must be really something to get that price out of it. I,m open to offers but that's something I would want the buyer to shoot and give it a good look over so both parties would be happy. It does have a low serial number and is in great shape, If you want to throw a price out there just to give me a ballpark figure that's fine too. I,m sure you know much more about gun prices than I do. I thank you for your quick response. I haven't shot it in ten years and am trying to contact our local sportsmans club to have a place to go. We live in town now with very limited places to go Thanks again for your time Mark Seaton
Only warning... then banned forever. Don't EVER badmouth 5th SFG. You can "trash talk" me all you want. Bash 5th again, and you're gone. I love ya brother, and you have always been welcome in our comment section, but I have zero tolerance on this subject. TR

Great guys indeed.
Thank you for your service. Strength and Honor, TR
Everytime I watch one of your videos I think to myself there is no way I can ever repay these people for their sacrifice. AMERICA
May all the Fallen rest in peace...

A great cause.. good to see an event to benefit families love ones. ~ Shalom
It must be chilling to know three of the soldiers for which stages were dedicated. This looks like a great match outside of all the damn running!
They were all great guys. Thanks for watching, TR
Looks really interesting and for a good cause. Win-win.
Looks like a great day out

I agree 100%. They are also fun and great ways to meet like-minded individuals in your area.

That's an awesome shoot, I like the courses a lot and the tribute really makes for a special event. More places could organize events like this.
I hope the widows recieve lifetime financial assistance that actually takes care of things.
TR, thank you for taking the time to be with the families during their time of heeling.
I'm sure whoever kids you were teaching, the Dad would have wanted it that way. 👍
EXCELLENT!
What a great way of honoring your SF brothers AND helping their families Karl!
It was a pleasure meeting you at Legion. Hope to see you back next year. Great video. Thanks
Great meeting you too. It was a great event and I wish I could have spent more time there. We will be there next year.

Thanks for the support. TR
Admin note: Nate Chapman is a 1SFG (A) guy. Awesome event though. And Dead Zero is an outstanding rage complex.
Yep, but 5th Group was in command of that AOR then, so we still honor Nate as one of our own.
Right on.
It was a pleasure meeting you at the event, Karl. Can't wait until next year!
Likewise, nice meeting you. It is a great event and I will be there next year for sure
Thank you for sharing with us
My pleasure
