The end of the Early 1960s .. and a start to the Mid-60s. Gerry/ Pacemakers, some group called .. erm .. The Beatles, Cliff/ Shads, and Frank Ifield, etc. Actually a really good year for Pop Music. Wonderful!
The 1960s are the the golden age of pop music as evidenced by this top 10 list of 1963. Thanks for the research to bring us unqualified enjoyment listening to snippets of these great hits
BRILLIANT - THE BEST VIDEOS OF THEIR KIND ON TH-cam! Good photos and priceless film clips, and all songs presented for a decent amount of time, unlike other sites who think 5 seconds for a classic song is long enough! Wonderful!
why "I want to hold your hand" wasn't in the Top 3? not only in Top 10, I repeat: Top 3! four weeks at #1, third Beatles #1 "She loves you" was the Greatest #1, it was the most selling song of the 60s decade in UK, the begining of BEATLEmania and is a Masterpiece! but "I want to hold your hand" should be the #2 or #3 without doubt
Gerry & The Pacemakers -Brilliant!

Loving the songs I am 72 love them all. Thank you for the memories..🙋😷🙏
Did not know that Gerry and the Pacemakers dominated much of ‘63 UK. Well deserved.

1963
Best year of my life
Brilliant thanks for the memories 👍👍
Those of us, at that time, didn't know what was about to come
Fine selection - I like and well remember all of those.
I’ve been singing most of these songs since’60s and doing a 50s/60s fundraiser dance next month and will still be doing them again.

Glad you enjoyed it
Oh my. Beautiful. Ieft the U.K in 1968 for the U.S. But how well I remember all of these.
Great memories
I was only 3 years old and love 60s music very much 💙
There were many great songs in the sixties it’s hard to please everyone
A very interesting list.
Gerry Marsden - what a brilliant voice! Along with Allan (Hollies) Clarke and Scott Walker, one of THE voices of the 1960s.
This is Brian Poole and the Tremeloes
Sums up popular music in 1963 in the UK very well. A mixture of old style coupled with the advent of the Mersey Sound.
And the funniest thing is, Cliff Richard is still a batchelor boy at 81
Leopards never change their spots ! 🤔😧😁😁😁😁
Always love the guitars without cords.
Cliff is still the best
Yes Cliff was great. But others were great too-Elvis, Beatles….
Great voice full of meaning
Well he certainly lived up to that song
Cliff still looking for the right girl... well isn't he ? 🥺😧😃😂🤣
Although the Beatles appeared on Ed Sullivan before 73 million viewers in February, '64, they were already a big hit in England and Europe in 1963.
Interesting mix of UK and US songs in 1963. Like the photo of Cliff standing in the middle of Uzbekistan! Love Frank Ifield's looks and voice!

There is only on Cliff Richard and only one Beatles. The two have different styles but both are the best.

Yes girls 60 years later Cliff still open to offers... good luck with that hahaha 🥺😳😂😂😂😂😂
Shame Gerry Marsden died during lockdown his funeral would have had the whole of Liverpool out in respect.
What about THE SHADOWS and JET HARRIS and TONY MEEHAN, British music chart domination from 1958 to 1963 and Cliff Richard.
When the girls where slim and the boys were smart
Fact Gerry and the pacemakers were the first group to have three consecutive number ones
Incorrect.. They were the first group who's first 3 singles went to number 1....Next to do it was frankie goes to Hollywood then George Michael.
1963. The year I married my late wife, Jan.
All mimed at the time
I wish they’d play the pull songs
I think that "From a Jack to a Queen" sung by Ned Miller is from 1957, not 1963.
From me to you and not I wanna hold your hand at 2 ? I don’t think 64 could be wrong these count downs a bit dodgy
Top sind nur die Beatles, die anderen Künstler sind langweilig - ich liebe die Bands der britischen Invasion der 60iger Jahre (bin 72 Jahre).
why "I want to hold your hand"
wasn't in the Top 3?
not only in Top 10, I repeat: Top 3!
four weeks at #1, third Beatles #1
"She loves you" was the Greatest #1,
it was the most selling song of the 60s decade in UK,
the begining of BEATLEmania
and is a Masterpiece!
but "I want to hold your hand" should be the #2 or #3 without doubt
Agree, I was dumbfounded it wasn't in there
I don’t see why we should have to put up with some knobs personal choices. Which is what these obviously are!!
Song list is from www.uk-charts.top-source.info/top-100-1963.shtml
you don't have to listen to them, go back to what you do best, playing with yourself
Your name sums you up perfectly.
There's an idiot born every day..welcolm
Scott Walker
Yes
1963
No
This must be a different Scott Walker than the former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.
