I was born in late 1963, and I still listen to 40 year old music from the 70's and 80's. Wow. I begin to miss my late mother when I hear old music like this. Love you, Mom.
They were the first British rock band to conquer America at that time. The other British bands followed soon after. Then it was called: THE BRITISH INVASION !
@@michaelconsuegra7316 I love them for that, and for all the things that they made in their years like band. They will always be a very spectacular and iconic band, always!!
The Beatles had 15 #1 hits in those 2 years alone! Amazing when you see them one after another! The Supremes had 6 #1 hits too, a distant second to the Beatles ! So much great music from those two years! Nicely done!
Fantastic video Random Guy. Wow, the Beatles just totally dominated the charts. Nobody else comes close. Thank you for including Aussie artists. The difference between what the UK were doing musically and what the US is doing is really clearly obvious.
Love this era of music. I'm almost 40 and when I was growing up this is what the "oldies" stations played on the radio. Nowadays oldies stations are playing late 70s, early 80s music. But I could listen to this all day.
I am 35 and grew up listening to 60s and 70s music as my parents were born in 58 and 59. They would have oldies stations playing 50s, 60s and 70s and enjoyed it even though I enjoy 80s and 90s rock as well. I agree though I see now they have 70s and 80s now as oldies for kids today.
IMHO the Byrds defined the mid 60s, at least. Other than the fabs, they were the only group making strong albums in that time. The beatles were the best though. So many great songs.
I was thirteen when love me do shot up the charts never looked back Merseyside music captured the chats but it was a decade of number ones iam a fan of all the songs that came out of the sixties early seventies brings back beautiful memories
Thank you Random:) Love the non English versions of great songs! I don't understand a word, but really cool to hear from a different country. No one can go wrong with The Kinks!!!!!
The UK wanted to cash in on the European music scene too. So they would get big singers and groups to record in other languages. The Beatles did "She Loves You " in German too as "Sie liebt dich" ! Kinda cool really!
My early childhood, nursery school, but some of these songs were my nursery rhymes. 😎❤️ By the way Ken Dodd was a famous, in my opinion hilarious comedian, he died in his nineties some years ago. 😁😆 Behind lead singer of the Mindbenders, Wayne Fontana, a very young Eric Stewart, later in 10cc. ❤️ It's so sad how many of these singers and musicians are no longer with us. 😥 Both Ringo Starr, Cliff Richard and Tom Jones are over 80, to name three of these performers. ❤️ It's interesting how many people did cover versions in those days. 🎶
❤👍 GOOD VIDEO! GOOD COMPILATION! THIS WAS THE BRITISH INVASION. THERE WAS THE GOOD TIMES WITH BEATLES AND ROLLING STONES. GREAT NOSTALGIA, VISUAL AND MUSICAL. GREETINGS FROM BULGARIA 🇧🇬
Thanks, very interesting international perspective. Amazing the number of big hits that were No. 1 in the UK or Canada and not in the States... and the number of songs that were No. 1 in France, Italy and/or Spain.
I'm not talking bad about music because I like music. It's just that music today seems to be going backwards some. For example: Some songs today sound like from the '60's and '70's. It's kind of interesting. The only thing is we can't go back to those decades, but I wish we could.
FANTASTIC!!! Amazing job getting this lot together! Never knew The Beatles had so many special releases overseas, which went No.1. It would be great to see all these videos in full, but there’s probably many reasons why that is not possible.
One song you need to add is "Down in The Boondocks" by Billy Joe Royal. it went to Number One in Canada, sometime in 1965. I attended his funeral in October 2015 in North Carolina. He was a great Singer and performer.
I'm so sorry I wasn't around in the 1960's. So many interesting things happened and I wasn't there to see it. I wasn't born until the '70's. A decade which I'm not fond of because that was when things went from bad to worse. Such as: Drugs, alcohol, graffiti, rape, murder and domestic violence to name some. People say the '60's were bad, but I think the'70's were worse.
Pop was slowly starting to get serious during this stage: of course the Beatles and British Invasion are to blame, but US Soul was also leaving the Doo Wop era behind and adopting a new sound (which still sounds fresh today, The Supremes and Four Tops are example of that). At the same time Bubblegum is starting to appear with The ShangriLas and I'd say The Byrds are important in the development of Baroque Pop (this band is super underrated imo). Sonny and Cher are kinda like a preview of the Hippie era concepts and last but not least, The Rolling Stones are fundamental in the expansion of Blues Rock (the father of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal). I can understand why some people would prefer the Stones to the Beatles, they had a lot of attitude for its time (I prefer the Beatles though, Blues Rock can become quite repetitive as a style).

The Supremes (Mary Wilson, Diana Ross, and Florence Ballard) five number-ones in-a-row!❤❤❤

Obviously the rest of the bands are good too, but for me, The Beatles was and are the kings of The 60's. I love them so much ❤️

Total domination by the Fab Four!
The amount of Beatles songs is impressive. 😮
The Beatles had at several number one hits every year I was in HS and beyond (63-67).
@@rodleyeriffe9149 they are at their peak at that time.
I grew up with some of these! Today, nobody makes music the way these greats did - because nobody can. Thanks for the memories!

Wow The Supremes were something else.
I'm an 80s baby but still grew up listening to a lot of this because of my parents. I was actually a bit obsessed with Little Old Lady From Pasadena.
OMG, how the Beatles dominated this era!
