I agree. His music has always touched me. His voice is perfection, especially on this song. Just wish he got the recognition he deserved while he was here.
The pain in his voice is overwhelming, and makes me cry everytime I hear it. So much loss and disappointment in his life. I wish he could know how much his music meant to so many people.
Such a great sounding song , with a guy like Gene singing it so heartfelt.A song that created such warmth and about setting one ya love free. Beautiful ***** 5 star song.
Who can not just love this song, Geno is just so underraded, he can match dylan anytime, just waiting to get Two sides of every story on CD, ASAP, RIP Gene
Hi Jim. A beauty. Great to hear it on you tube. Comes close to perfection. What a man he must have been. Gladly more people seems to like him. There are yet a few unifinished things to bring out. Thanks for uploading. Makes people happy.
It is on the High Moon Records top: Vinyl on Two Sides Two Every Storty. Remasterd by Sony equipment and is really a blast. Limited edition. A cd is in the works and there is downloadcard for further use in the future.Although the music is the most important must mention the booklet that comes with it. Great pics and storie. Highly recommended and a must for those who love Gene's music.
It's on the boxed set Flying High though that 's not that easy to come by. I think it is also on Firebyrd. It's on TH-cam but I don't seem to be able to post the link I love it !

From two Sides to Every Story from 1977. This is a great album start to finish and includes some of Gene's finest songs. The album has been out of print for years and has never been commercially released on cd. This is simply wrong.
fenellablue much better than Dylan? What ripple have you been ingesting deadhead. Gene is quite good obviously but NOWHERE AS GENIUS AS BOB! #SillyComment
fenellablue plus it wasn't just Gene on MTM it was the whole band called the Byrds. Don't leave out Roger, Chris, Michael and even David's contributions plus if I'm not mistaken there were a lot of studio musicians like the Wrecking Crew on those early Byrd's discs.
Er... Dylan WROTE Mr Tambourine Man, and far too much other stuff to claim that Gene Clark outshines him. Wrong argument. Just let Gene Clark shine with his own light.
why does every one of his songs astonish me...Touches my heart and my soul...hope he's looking down to see how much he was truly loved.

Gene may be dead but the music he made will rattle around the universe forever. RIP, Geno.
Lovely performance from Gene. A duet with Emmylou is a bonus!!
Don't care about Emmylou. Gene's voice is all that matters. Perfection, especially on this gorgeous song about his loss.
Beautiful!
Splendida!!!
RIP Gene Clark - No Other. No, there will never be another.
I've never heard this GC song. WOW!
When his voice cracks on the last verse, I can't help but cry. She hurt him so basly.

This comment has aways bothered me. He didn't "set" her free. She left him, snd broke his heart in the process.

According to his biography, the album title wasn't about his breakup, but about the two sides of his personality. The many faces of Gene Clark.

Gene said it was his best
Elvis should have sung some of genes songs.
Every one should be singing Gene's songs.
When is it to be released?
You're wrong - Gene is much better than Dylan. You only have to compare the two versions of Mr Tambourine Man.

Roger said the Crew played only on Tambourine Man and I Knew I'd Want You; the rest was the band learning as they went along.
Gene was the besr Byrd. No one was like him.
