Can someone explain how "illegal immigrant" is offensive? It literally describes people who have immigrated here illegally. It couldn't be more factually accurate and benign.
I'm pretty sure its the fact that using the word illegal implies that they're all criminals so instead people use undocumented immigrant. Still accurate but minus the implication.
