I'm like "No longer do i have to hold any worries about the upcoming album!" I love every album, but a couple of them i wasn't sure about before the release. This one i have no doubt what so ever - a new classic coming!
Great reaction and awesome tune. JP never lets you down. The way he goes off on this one kind of takes me back to that groove style solo in Under A Glass Moon.
Guitarist viruosity toward the end very high. Had heard the name Dream Theater several times but not listen. Thought this was going to be a little more peaceful, due to their name. I call this Progressive Metal.
Great shirt Nick! If there was ever a band to represent Earth in the event of an Alien invasion, to show that we ARE in fact worthy, and allowed to live.....it would be Dream Theater. 09:47 shows your genius in music...By your words...you know HOW to listen. You mentioned Myung... We saw Dt at UT Austin. He had to "tune" a couple of strings during the show...he hit his tuner on the pedal board with his foot. His left hand kept killing it, his right hand turned the keys on the head stock, while looking at the tuner on the floor. I totaly saw that happen.
Thanks for the great reaction. I wonder how they keep producing creative and beautiful music while still being them. I hope to see some day your reaction to DT's At Wit's End. I think it was the best piece from the last album, and surely will deepen Lex's love for Petrucci's magic. :)
SWEET! Intense tune! Can't wait to hear the rest of this album! Dream Theater will be in Denver November 6th so get your tickets ASAP! Probably will go fast! Peace Nick & Lex!
Nice surprise, you've never been more up to date ! I write these first lines, before listening to your reaction. I've listened to the song 3 times by now and I can't wait for your opinion. The facts: after 24 hrs the song had 330.000 clicks in youtube and more than 3000 comments going from superfantastic all the way to boring and selfcopying. So as you always say: Let's go ! I've watched you liking the first part of the song and write now before you talk. To be honest as a great DT fan, owner of all studio CDs, live CDs, DVDs, cover CDs, having ranked them always 1 spot higher than Rush, beeing for a long time my Nr 1, having seen them 17 times live, I try to love this song, it's good ... but: there is nothing really new, it's the essence of the last 20 years, different parts put together in a different sequence. One positive aspect is, that they finally let Mike Mangini drum what HE wants, and he is a great drummer, not as much fun live as MP but still one of the best. So I feel like I did with many of the last Rush albums, they don't play any bad song, but it's not as good as in their best times ! So now I'll listen, what you have to say. Oookaay, so you liked it very much, I'm glad for you ... and I have to correct myself. JP's solos are still great, I like it when it's melodic. I think you can enjoy it more since you haven't heard too much of their last albums. Now pick up your calendars and note: 22nd October release of the new DT record aaaand : Saturday 06.Nov. DT live in Denver, Paramount Theatre ! But I can't believe it says capacity 500 ? Just let us know ... and now enjoy listen to the song a 2nd, 3rd, 4th time :-)

Hey Guys, This is awesome, DT is finally back and your reactions coulnd've been better. Especially Mangini sounds absolutly incredible and I enjoyed every bit of this release. Can't wait for the album to come out. I really enjoy your reaction videos. It feels so good to see people listening to these gems of musical prowess for the first time and often just being overwhelmed. I love the emotions you go through, especially with the prog rock greats. Looking behind you, i can see the album "the raven that refused to sing" and i'd love to see a some more reactions to Steven Wilson (or even Porcupine Tree). Some more suggestions of Songs that are very close to my heart: Genesis: Cinema show/Aisle of Plenty (when i heard it performed live by Steven Hackett, all 5k people in that theater had tears in their eyes) and the Lamia (this song is peak story telling and orchestral writing for Genesis, just the lyrics alone are absolutly gorgeous) Yes: Heart of the Sunrise (arguably one of the most sick Bass carrys by Squire, ridiculous paradiddlediddle Subdivisions on drums and just pure yes brilliance) and Awaken (its basically written for an orchestra and has been performed by one called Todmobile featuring Jon Anderson himself, i highly reccomend a listen) Some newer Bands and Songs i'd adore to see a reaction at some point including Flower Kings (oof...where to start....): "The Big Puzzle" on the Album "Back in the World of Adventure" Kaipa: (like flower Kings another swedish Band, they share the Bass player): "Screwed-Upness" on the Sattyg album Magenta: (Fantastic british Prog Band with a stunning female Singer): "Gluttony" on the Album "Seven" One more: Wobbler: (crazy medival sounding Prog Rock group) "The River" on the Album "Rites at Dawn" Thanks again for the entertaining and wholesome content you guys produce.

That was great. Not the biggest DT fan but I really enjoyed this song particularly the guitar. My ear has a problem with the drumming, always seemed to forward in the music for me but this song I really did enjoy. Thanks.
Great song! I had no idea they had new music! As you said in this video , i too feel so much more connected to music than i have in a long time! I thank you for that and your channel.

Petruccis guitar tone...I my dear lord. This song is their best one in a very long time.
Yeah he sounds great, fantastic solo! and yes I think it's the best DT song I've heard in quite a while, Mangini is going nuts in this one as well
