    It’s even easier. Just buy a can of ‘ether/engine starting spray’. Spray some in the carb or the air intake of any gas engine. If it starts but dies, you know you have spark to ignite the ether….so by elimination, you have a fuel problem. Air flow problems are pretty rare, and the ether WILL ignite if it gets into a flooded or dry cylinder, even if only a little air is present or too much. If you have a diesel, WD40 can be sprayed into the intake. Preferably AFTER the turbo if the engine is turbocharged. It will knock but it WILL run for a few seconds, maybe enough to clear the air from the fuel line so you can get a proper diagnosis.
