I don’t think you’re limited on fueling, on tune 5 you could clearly see it needs more air. Fuel was not the problem
Soot is unburnt fuel.. looks like he lost extra 75hp
My thoughts exactly needs custom tuning
I think with a 1.0 housing it will clean up on the top end
pro trick: watch series on flixzone. Been using it for watching loads of movies during the lockdown.
@Alan Lennon Yup, have been using flixzone for years myself :)
You have a flat back diff cover.
Would suggest looking at Gayle Banks new patented cover.
Will save you a lot of grief if you do.
Best regards.michael
Michael William she has one now. Just got gears done 2 weeks ago.
watching this video you should be closed to 525 even on stock fueling. Seems really low for that turbo size especially on a level 5 tune. You've got the fueling no problem based on how black the smoke is before the turbo try to clean it up. If you needed more fuel your exhaust would be completely clear.
Still a great video and great looking truck. Thanks again. Hope to see you around the freeways sometime!
I think the stock lift pump is running out. When you romp on it with a tune the stock lift pump drops to like 5 psi. He should break 500 easily with a lift pump.
It's an unloaded dyno. Truck isn't loaded up like it should be to make the power. I'm sure boost levels are much lower than they should be
Mine made 500+ on the stock turbo... Get you some ctt tunes. I'm buttoning up my 467 this week and will have it re dyno'd
The dyno wasn’t a loaded dyno and from wht ive researched couldn’t read accurate HP for my set up. Usually needed a loaded dyno for boosted vehicles.
Those 37s don’t help the numbers
You can’t compare numbers between different dynos on different days with different tire sizes
Watch firepunks video about the flo pro twister! Gained 100+hp on truck with same tune just by removing the twister. If you want a muffler do the straight through so u dont loose flow or hp
That flo pro twister is killing power. Had one on my '16 6.7 and knew it felt corked up. It's gone now. There are a few dyno vids out there of back to back testing showing how much you lose with them.
Beautiful truck though 👌🏻
md9897 i removed it a few weeks ago. She’s back to a straight pipe.
Awesome truck man! I have a 2018 with DRD tuning. I love their tuning. I'm planning on doing a 2ng gen swap in the near future.
Cody Donovan thanks man. Let me know if you have any questions about the 2nd gen swap.
@@okc_garage Was the install of your kit somewhat easy? How is the spool with the 467.7 turbo? I don't want to go too big. I want to stay close to stock spool. So maybe a 463 or 465. I'm not looking at gaining huge HP/ torque numbers. I just mainly want to get rid of the stock setup under the hood. and nothing beats the sound of a 2nd gen!!
Cody Donovan tear down of the stock stuff is the hardest part. New parts are easy to install. S467.7 is great on spoil up in my opinion. Once you hit about 1800-2000 RPM you can feel the boost.
@@okc_garage I appreciate the info. I'm definitely am going to recruit my brother and a friend to help me with the tear down. Will hopefully make it a little easier and faster!
First time seeing one of your videos. Supper cool, I have a S463 with DRD tunning. Cool to see the HP numbers
Jake McKeen i believe there more power available with a loaded dyno.
@@okc_garage yes defiantly agree. You almost have to go to a shop that specializes in ram dynos
It didn’t seem like it was under load much at all. I’m betting your closer to 550-1000 tq.
tdv1985 i agree with you and I’m thinking north of 1200 on TQ
OKC_6.7 I’m looking for 13-18 G56 truck. Let me know how you like the 67.7 drivability wise. Been doing some research and the 67.7 seems to be the sweet spot between being able to tow, drivability and performance all in one.
tdv1985 i love it. You def feel the boost after 2k RPM. Just did 780 miles 2 days ago and she ran awesome
OKC_6.7 good deal thanks for the reply. Good luck building your channel I’ll be sure to help all I can. Nice rig!
575-605
Can’t wait to see the numbers after the re gear and the torque number for sure
Matt McDonough i think there’s a lot more power in there still.
OKC_6.7 yup for sure ! 480 is legit
There’s an easy way to calculate torque from the horsepower number
Getting bigger lift pump would probably get over 500hp. There are stock fuel trucks (with big lift pumps) making over 600hp with strong stock injection pumps.
Full Fuel Ranch i May get one soon but my fuel pressure is still good with the stock sending unit. I’m only dropping down to about 8-10 psi at most.
Did you have a shop install everything done to it? If so who I’m also located in Oklahoma
Brown Knee no i did it all myself. If you need help man just let me know.
@@okc_garage atta boy!!!!!! I just got a 14 Cummins. Was always powerstroke but turned to the dark side 😁 I love it. My VGT actuator is out of my turbo, I am having issues with my heat and my driver side battery isn’t getting charged correctly so I’ve got some work to do to it. I’m going to go with the second Gen swap soon. These trucks are fun but man they cost. lol
Nice! Hard to go over 500 at the tires with stock fuel on these trucks
False
That seems really weird. I've seen just tuned & deleted ones put down close to 550whp....
It wasn’t loaded. I’m sure it was wrong looking back at it.
Have a 2018 3500 dually, wanting to do f/d and 2nd gen swap. Unfortunately, you can't just call some shop and have them provide that service. I'm still researching all this and finding it's difficult to even get the kits anymore. That said, your truck sounds amazing. Question, how much give or take was the dyno test?
Bro you were dumping smoke you need 4” intake horn, lift pump, bigger boost tubes, Cai, ported/polished 2 piece manifold. I wonder what my Cummins is at
It was the tuning. I have different tunes now.
Can honestly say it's identical to the truck I have that was built by beast projects. .
Nice you have the beast now. Hope she’s treating you well. I watched his second gen swap video a million times before i did mine.
I changed a lot up went to efi live. Custom tunes by SMR performance. They build tons of diesel pulling n drag motors. I just towed it about 800 miles yesterday. 32 foot enclosed from Greensboro NC to DC Ard there n back for work. 14mpg Honestly the mbrp quiet tone will lower ur egts about 200 to 300 degrees. Furthest I've towed it was Greensboro to Utah Co line 28 foot enclosed when I got to buddy's shop out there I pulled the flopro off. Running. 24x14s n 35s now even with 4.56 gears she does good plan to do coilovers to tighten the front end. Have owned the truck about 2.5 years
I understand this an old video but My 18 made 566 and 1450 ft pounds of torque on the stock turbo and stock fuel hasn’t been on the dyno since the s467 2g swap if I had to guess it’s knocking on 700hp it’s all about tuning… i feel like your numbers are way low
There’s a lot more there to be tuned nice truck
This is what I’m doing next to my 2014 Dodge Cummins Diesel dually how do u like that 467? Lag much? How’s it tow?
All top end, the 467 is a dawg down low for pulling, burnouts, just all around low end power. For interstate driving or driving above 45mph or 2300 rpm it pulls well but stock turbo VGT (yes) is much better if you work your truck or pull a camper
@@Gilmore304 I pull a 44’ toy hauler wouldn’t trade now my 400 series turbo for anything much better than stock vgt
Any lag? How’s she perform vs stock vgt? How’s towing?
Is there any way to get rid of the black smoke when you're gettin on it hard? Seems like a diesel thing.
I have better and cleaner tunes now and she barely smokes if any. I hate the “rollin coal” crap as well.
I would’ve been afraid of my 68 grenading itself lol
I was. I was nervous as hell lol.
Is 2nd gen swap better than 3rd gen? Just curious as I’m about to delete my 17 2500 and turbo actuator/brake were starting to give me issues at 110k miles.
you can do as you please my man, but definitely 2nd gen swap will get you the pleasure and power you will like.
Needs more air, not more fuel. You didn’t have enough air to clear up the smoke on the lvl5 setting. Lvl3 was on with a slight haze under full boost.
An s467.7 is plenty of air it will outrun stock fuel system
@@alexmcauliff3646 I’m positive you’re right. But if he’s still hot and Smokey, it needs more air. Or maybe some more main timing
What’s the spoiling like with the 467 on 37s? I also have 37s and plan on doing a 2nd gen swap. Thinking of going with the 467 or 465, but not wanting it to be much laggier than the stock turbo
Rickey Lahey it’s not laggy at all. You can feel the boost kick in around 1800-2000 RPMs. I’m re gearing next week and will dyno it again soon.
OKC_6.7 Yeah I am also about to regear to 4:11s I have stock 3:42s. But thanks man your truck looks badass
that's low numbers 😳
3.42s with 37s is a recipe for a burned up trans. Be careful bud
martin1234512345 she’s gear swapped now to 4.30s
OKC_6.7 phew!!
I wonder if they could give the dyno more load to increase hp.
I learned the hard way. I needed a loaded dyno. I didn’t know this at the time.
i dont understand horsepower comes from torque so how could it show horsepower if its not reading torque
I have no idea man it was my first ever dyno and i took them at their word. Didn’t seem like they knew what they were doing, and neither did I at the time.
That dyno did not sound loaded up properly.
It wasn’t loaded at all. I will do another dyno run when i can find one.
@@okc_garage Awesome! I just did a 366/80 1.0SXE on my 13 68RFE truck. Running a 200 Race Me Ultra tune and it seems really good so far. We dont have any dyno shops here and i was looking for similar builds to compare with.
John Doe I’d say Im putting down 550 whp at a minimum. Similar setup I’ve seen on Steve’s channel Beast projects, i believe he put down 560s with the exact setup as me.
I know this is an old vid but do you do much towing with the 467 swap? I’m thinking of going 2nd gen swap on my 2018 I do tow a lot tho and I’m just worried about drivability after the swap. Also hard to lose the exhaust brake
i dont really tow anything much at all, maybe a car trailer 1-2 times a year. sorry i dont have a better answer for you.
463, 464 will build its boost better for towing. Back down in 1300-1600 spool up. It's mostly matching turbos with your operating rpm as far as towing is concerned.
Damn , I’d be pist the f*ck off if they were running my motor up that high in the RPM’s, you lost torque long before they topped the motor out. 2800-3k RPM’s Max and that’s pushing it .
3000rpm isn't shit for these. This will handle 4k all day long stock. A bigger single doesn't make peak torque down low like the vgt's do
Dude! I live in OKC as well!! Let’s do a collab! My 3rd gen 6.7 with your 4th gen!
Let’s do it.
Soooooo???? Did you guys do it? Or was it all talk?
How's the 68rfe holding up?
She’s doing great. Since this video i did a revmax valve body upped my line pressure to 225 and have regeared to 4.30s. She’s doing better than ever.
@@okc_garage I'm glad to hear I got a 2018 3500 and I'm looking to do the same thing
No custom tuning? I feel like you definitely left some hp on the table.
It’s just double r diesel tuning. Once i get everything set up for good I’ll get some custom tunes.
OKC_6.7 never heard of them, but I drive an f250
@@dr.bowdoin3067 drd only tunes 6.7 cummins, thats why.
Do you ever run the 12v tune?
I’ve got a 4th gen with the wcfab 467.7 second gen swap and drd tuning as well. Just curious, what kind of boost are you seeing on a hard pull?
It was about 50 psi. I have since switched tuning companies and platforms. I’m with EzLynk now. The tunes are i have now are a million times better.
@@okc_garage what tunes do you have off the Ezlynk?
@@okc_garage don't mention that on drd's "personal forum" or you'll get 86'd! I'm running Ray's tunes on my '19 but I'm really beginning to think I can get better. I do like the MM3 however. I'm contemplating CCS' MM3 tuning via Dirty Diesel Customs. Any advice? I'm still running my stock VGT and will most likely keep a VGT but am thinking about a bigger one like Ryan's Diesel Service. I'm after a solid 500hp. DRD's 5th gen tunes have a funky power delivery. No extra added power until 50% throttle and then all of it comes on. Everytime I try to drive in the higher settings, I feel like I'm gonna break driveline components because of that horrible delivery. 😞
Is it a straight pipe. Nice truck
At the time it was. Now it has a resonator. The drone was to raspy for me.
How’s the lag? Ever tow a car trailer or camper with it?
I’ve never towed with it so i can’t give you an honest answer.
Anybody knows a good efi live tuner?
3.42 gears?
Do you still have your grid heater installed? If so, you need to ditch that. It is a huge air obstruction in the intake. You might want call DRD and ask them for some updated tuning. Have you sent them any logs?
agentmuzz i do still have my grid heater installed and I’m looking at other tuning companies right now.
OKC_6.7 Check out CCT tuning.
How is this thing daily driving? Also hows the trans holding up?
I love it as a daily driver. It’s not a high HP build but it’s fun to have a mega cab diesel that can be fun to drive. She’s very responsive with the throttle input and the valve body and gears make it even more fun to drive.
Trans is great since the valve body upgrade and upping the line pressure.
@@okc_garage 480hp is still good. It’s a nice truck. Good job
Did you have a valvebody when you done this video? Seems to shift alot nicer than mine with CTT tunes
No that was a stock valve body. I have a billet revmax one installed now.
Are you still running stock trans as well? I'm doing a second gen swap on my 2010 just worried about the trans 😭
Jacob Mckenna i am. Just be nice to her and you will be fine.
@@okc_garage just out of curiosity how many miles do you have? I have 105k
Jacob Mckenna I’m about to hit 35k. Have had the 2nd gen swap since 29k miles.
@@jacobmckenna982 I have a second gen swap on my 2012 with a stock transmission and all my truck does is tow. It only has 90,000 miles on it but they're tough miles. Trans is holding up fine.
@@ll-jw5zb hey man I know this is an old comment but how is towing with this setup? And Do you miss the Exhaust brake?
What's the purpose of the 2nd gen swap?
Move the turbo between 3&4 instead of all the way down between 5&6 and give you the opportunity for a bigger turbo and gets rid of the problematic VGT.
Do you have an aftermarket trans?
Sniper5487 no i wish i did. She’s 100% stock
OKC_6.7 Please research Revmaxx. I am not by any means associated with them. But I can almost guarantee that you will not be disappointed when the time comes. I couldn’t agree more with you when you said power cost money.! 😁
Christian Weaver I’ve done tons of research. They are defenitly one of my options.
Did it spin on the Dyno with wet tires
No she didn’t spin at all but it was an unloaded dyno.
Did you do anything to the transmission?
At the time of this dyno run it was stock. Since then I’ve added a a billet valve body and a new deep pan with tunes upping the line pressure.
How is the trans holding up?
x Inline6 she’s good. I don’t beat on her so she’s pretty solid.
How’s the lag on the 467?
its not bad at all. she lights off around 12-1500 RPM pretty well. Id highly recommend it on stock fuel, and gets you room for growth if you want to add fuel later.
This might be a dumb question, but isnt hp just torque times RPM? Couldn't you back- calculate the torque curve if you know the HP curve?
Honestly I’ve never heard that before.
hp=(torque x rpm)/5252
Need better tuning brother, smaller tires. Guys are making 600 with a 467 and stock fuel. Guys with stock turbo with a 200 tune are getting like 550
DRD is your problem, I switched to CTT LBF and it’s night and day power and shifts
Devon Cooley I’m starting to realize that. Looking at CTT tunes right now.
Not even trying to fanboy CTT but they are for real, felt like I went from stock (DRD tunes) to actually tuned. Pissed I didn’t switch when I first started seeing the hype
@@okc_garage CTT is ran by one of my best friends. I have a 15 G56 with a s464 and a shimmed rail plug running 28,500psi tunes. Dynod 606/1048 on stock fuel on his superflow dyno. I have a video as well
@@okc_garage you just made me upload a 3yr old video lmfao!
th-cam.com/video/ILEzx6Q_aSs/w-d-xo.html
Flow pro muffler is the biggest waist of money. Unless u love super high egts when u tow straight pipe way to go
It works for me. The straight pipe sounds like crap in my opinion.
Hate when ppl touch my stuff.. Specially greasy mechanics
467 and only 480 hp 😳
It was an unloaded dyno so the numbers weren’t correct. It was a learning experience.
You can make more than 480hp on a stock turbo lol
Take it up to fire punk diesel they will tune it on their Dyno their good and powerdriven diesel is good to they have a Dyno they tune goo too
Check out tunes from Optimal Welding from Canada. I’ve heard MANY good things about his Cummins tunes
Brian houk Your the second person that’s said that I’ll have to check him out.
No high RPM
She got up to 3200 RPM. Stock trans and stock valve train didn’t want to push it beyond the limits of those parts.
That poor 68rfe
Here’s my thing. You want big power, Smokey burnouts and speed WHY A DIESEL?
Their not meant for RPM’s and who cares if your putting down 500 hp because that might as well be 200hp in an F150 and or 15:00 seconds in 1/4 mile 😂😂
Not meant to wind out neither and that is reason heads lift, transmissions Blow apart because their 10k+ pounds trying drive it like a sports car!
Delete with mild tune and go get a camper to explore backcountry
Foolish but it’s your money playa
BOOMER SOONER!
No load = low numbers. Waste of time
Learned that the hard way 😕
How much boost are you running on the S467
Max boost i hit is right at 50 PSI.
@@okc_garage Damn ours is hitting just 23 I think the stupid clamps on the intercooler are to big and didn’t clamp all the way down before I ran out of thread. So may be loosing boost
