- Rarely do we drive any car that feels so well suited to its modifications, especially one with well over double factory horsepower. Ryan's Mustang, intended for both weekend blasts and half-mile racing, has a fully built motor, equipped with a Procharger centrifugal supercharger. The 930whp it produces hits you like a ton of butter, and feels like what a thousand horsepower might feel like from the factory.

He can probably still get more out of it. The reality is though, that much power still costs, and ironically uses just as much gas as it did in the 70's.
I get 15/34/30 city/expressway/hwy, but when I romp on it 3.2mpg--just like my dads roadrunner making about 550hp--and that's in a GT premium that's currently sitting at about 500horse.

A mustang is definitely not the ultimate sleeper. The ultimate sleeper is a piece of crap, normally associated as slow and boring, that you swap the engine to make a ton of horsepower (see Sloppy Mechanics).

The Fulcrum Ryan said in the interview but it didn't make the video: about 50k in build stuff, plus the cost of the car.

5-9 grand on a 29k base car up to 47k on a fully loaded premium car isn't that expensive when you compare the fact that this car outclasses cars that cost 120k--several million dollars. Most of the additional cost would be the labor, and Mustangs are actually really easy to work on, and you can save lots of costs.
Almost 1k to the wheels is absurd for that price.

I’ve been watching Gears and Gasoline for a few years now, but never I went back to the earlier stuff. It’s funny to see Ben say “you don’t normally see me on camera.” Even as early as this is the camera work is awesom,e and you can see why the channel was able to grow so much!

The cool thing about having a Mustang sleeper, is even if it's a completely stock exterior and interior, you still have a quality vehicle that looks and feels great.

I'm surprised at how thirsty it is. I think the owner mentioned around 8 mpg. I have a 2015 Roush with the Phase 2 Roush supercharger & around town I get about 15 mpg & up to 24 mpg on the freeway at 70 mph (3:73.1 gearing). The way mine is set up I haven't dyno'd it yet but I'm guessing around 750 hp at crank. I have a Corsa Extreme exhaust (incredible system), Nitto 555 305 35r20 drag radials (car hooks incredibly well now), & a Barton Industries short throw. I would love to see this owners car on a road course somewhere. Great video, great car!

Richard, as I mentioned I haven't dyno'd mine, but I saw several You Tube videos where people dyno'd similar setups & were reporting 735 to 750 hp. I guess that is about 625 hp at the wheels. If you're not happy with the exhaust I'd definitely look into the Corsa Exteme. Also, if your Roush doesn't hook up any better than mine did, the Nitto 555r will definitely cure that problem. Hope you're enjoying your car as much as I do mine.
Roger Beutler he could, but he'd almost certainly give up that 1000 horsepower number. You can get 825 out of a whipple supercharged car on 93 with their tune, with an upgraded fuel system 900 is possible (crank numbers, which puts you at high 700s at the wheels) but more than that and you're likely burning up just as much fuel...

I know people say you're never happy no matter how much hp you have, but I think with the 750hp that I have with my Roush & the Nitto drag radials, there aren't too many cars around that are faster. Of course, the farther you push the envelope it makes it harder for the car to be a daily driver which mine is.

Incognito Intercooling isn't as important with a supercharger. Intake air isn't affected by exhaust heat like a turbo. Plus SC's usually run less boost pressure than turbos which also means less heat.

Voodoo8648 it's because it is a centrifugal supercharger. They don't make any boost at low rpm. The guy even says "under 4,000 rpm is feels like a stock car. I wouldn't know that it has 1,000 hp". At 3,000 rpm it feels like stock. At 4,000 rpm it is making an extra 50 lb/ft of torque and feels somewhat stronger than stock. At 5,000 rpm, it will be making 100 lb/ft more than stock. At 6,000 rpm it will be making 200 lb/ft more than stock. At 7,000 rpm it will be making more than 300 lb/ft over stock. It is a horribly unsatisfying, non-linear power curve that is explosive at peaky at the top end.
@Larz Please, before you say anything else that completely wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at the dyno sheet. At 3,300 RPM it's making almost 500 foot pounds of Torque it goes to 700 Ft Lbs at 6500Rpm. That's an amazingly flat curve with awesome torque down low. Again, THE Traction control WAS ON !! You guys who don't read and don't listen are making yourselves look silly.

What I like about supercharger is that system allow you to feel the engine is like having larger displacement . Unlike turbo, the power of the supercharged engine is linear. Which is more controllable when driving it. Sorry for my bad english

This car really doesn't have the presence that a 1000 hp car should have. Used to have a buddy with just a 620 hp 2004 stang and that thing had presence. Vortech blown, heads cam, full exhaust, completely gutted etc. Basically I think if you are hyping about driving a 1000 hp car it shouldn't be a sleeper it should actually have character

Why not? Why would he need anything else? Throw enough air and fuel into an engine strong enough to handle it, and you can make as much power as you want.
Yes, there's a fast way. Kenne bell 2.8, Kenne bell boost a pump, 1000 injectors, smaller pulley, bigger throttle biody, oil pump gears. You are easy at 875whp on a completely stock 2015 & up motor. Add UPR rear suspension, mt et drag radials & if the car has an automatic? Low to mid 9 second quarter mile.
There’s a reason Chevy, dodge and ford can release things like the zl1, demon and that new super snake about to come out with insane power numbers and a warranty without changing internals. The gt500 for example is literally just a coyote with a blower. If ford is confident in selling it with over 700hp you better believe it has a lot of stock internal wiggle room

Most of the time when people read out their Dyno numbers, they state HP first (934) and torque second (698) since max power is displayed before max torque on a Dyno sheet. Makes perfect since to most "car guys". I didn't need to think twice to understand what he was saying.

Finally a sensible 1000 hp car. Only problem now is, you always want more, no matter how much you have.
I have a Hellcat & I wanted to mod just so I could say I have 1,000 hp. A cam, cnc'd heads, bigger supercharger, better intercooling, and a stronger clutch was all that was needed. It makes 1150 hp & 975 lb/ft to the wheels ON PUMP GAS. It's docile at low rpm. I added headers and an exhaust with hi flow cats, it's not very loud. If it drove past you slowly, you wouldn't think anything of it other than it's a Hellcat.I have a bunch of cars so it doesn't get driven much, but it's easy to live with when I do drive it. The stability control makes it safe to drive in the rain. It's not trying to kill you. My wife drives it more than I do she loves it. With the great Super Charging & Turbo kits out there 1,000 hp is not that big a number anymore. There are stronger driveline parts and suspension pieces to deal with that much power.
