  • “Our idea behind this car was to take a race car and not change anything for the street,” says Ford boss Jim Farley. There’s a giant dry-sumped 5.2-litre supercharged V8 up front that revs to somewhere above 7,500rpm and puts out over 800bhp, making this the most powerful road-legal Mustang ever built. That engine is connected to a carbon fibre driveshaft and powers the rear wheels through a rear-mounted eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Pretty much every panel you can see except for the doors is made from carbon fibre.
There are humungous Brembo carbon ceramic brakes hiding under 20-inch forged magnesium wheels, and the active rear wing combines with hydraulically controlled flaps behind the front grille to manage downforce. There’s a giant rear diffuser too, plus a titanium exhaust system supplied by Akrapovic and sticky Michelin Cup 2 R tyres.
Oh, and there’s no boot because that’s taken up by the inboard rear suspension setup, the hydraulic suspension control system and the transaxle’s cooling system. Yeah, this is a properly serious Mustang…

@@leon.zawodowiec You're making yourself look ignorant Leon! Try reading some of the technical aspects of the GTD and you'll quickly realize that it is no more like the dominator gtx than a VW beetle! Seriously! Your comment tells me clearly that you have no comprehension of the technological aspects of this car that separates it from anything in its class. That dominator was nothing more than an after market kit car, custom made and not available as a production Mustang. It had nothing even close to the level of technology that is going into this GTD. I'm not going to list it all out for you but suggest you look up the technical aspects of this car and see for yourself that they are light years apart!

It's going to be faster than the ACR dude. The ACR has a manual transmission which makes it slower on many tracks including the nurburgring getting a 7:01. The GTD has a new 8 speed dual clutch transmission which will make it faster around the track. This has a perfect 50/50 weight distribution as well as 800hp vs ACRs 645hp.

@twizz420 - Ford CEO, Jim Farley recently said when asked by the press how much longer Ford will make a V8. His answer was "As long as Washington and the Good Lord allow him to." Let's face it though, V8s are well into their "twilight years" and it won't be too long before they are gone! This just might go down in history as the last super high performance ICE powered Mustang ever to be made!

@@godzeus9702 Sorry man but you are completely in the dark as far as this Mustang's design, build and engineering. I'll guess you never heard of Multimatic, a world wide respected engineering firm from Canada. They built the chassis for the Porsche 963 IMSA and WEC class racers. For this GTD, Ford sends the basic chassis to Multimatic and they hand build the car from there. State of the art high tech features in the suspension and chassis, this is not your father's Mustang! So basically every car in existence shouldn't be compared to benchmarked to beat a car they are made to beat because they have something that gives them too much of an advantage which was their entire goal ? Seriously how does this make any sense at all. Not only that but the commenter said 100k cheaper when a Porsche GT3RS starts at 230k - 250k at least without adding anything on it, it picks up 300k really easily. @@ericship8383it’s going to beat the gt2 rs. Look at the 670hp 3720lbs pig c8 z06 that lapped the CTMP track and NEVERA track in Europe faster than the gt2 rs recently. This GTD will beat the c8 z06 on the tracks.

The C8 ZO6 is already beating the GT2 RS and GT3 RS around many tracks.

Is there a limit to how many you can purchase?

I doubt you will be able to purchase just one. Sales will be done like the 3rd gen. Ford GT and only selected prospective buyers will be able to purchase.

Yup specially from the notorious rear main seal and oil pan leaking oil directly onto the rear tires. Worthless poorly made Fords.

We might be crashing into crowds but at least we're not getting discontinued like the Slowmaro and the Junkcat is getting in 2024 🤣💀
