I actually dig this car the color is nice, the wheels are cool, the headlights nearly resemble a Porsche Taycan, and it packs power and performance. Thanks for the review, on throttle action and great camera work!
And believe it or not the b58 motor they got from bmw is very reliable. Takes abuse well and can make serious power for not as much money as you’d think.
I have a 2023 Supra A91 6MT. Believe me that it is fun. Slightly slower than an Automatic because no human can shift as fast as an automatic but definitely fun.
I have seen two of these. It looks way better in person than it does in photos. One was white and parked the other was clearly a custom color a green almost like a forest green and it was on the move outside of a parking garage I’m glad the manual enthusiasts can have their day!
I love that you actually drove this car proper for the review. I’m convinced now that I want the manual transmission and that I will be purchasing the ‘25 model
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say I don’t think there are a lot of people cross-shopping the Supra and Mustang. But of the two, if I had the money, I’d get the Supra, but only in the manual. One of the biggest reasons is there are tons of Mustangs out there, but Supras are still rare to spot, especially where I live, and I don’t want to drive a car I see tons of everyday.
I would agree with you that the instrumentation is well integrated into the dash creating a personal connection with the driver, which are enthusiasts. The newer sports cars with tacked on dash board screens will struggle to make this connection with drivers because it's a very impersonal integration into the dash. They just look like the screens are generic and reek of cost cutting to the nth degree. The supra with a manual is a well balanced offering of a vehicle that delivers great fun for a low weight. 600 lbs less is quite significant!!!!!
I love the *GR-Supra* Joe! This will be my next vehicle really soon. I'm getting one in *Fluorescent Orange* with *Matte Gray* trim. Its steering is accurate, nicely weighted, & direct, which enhances its fun-to-drive!

For me, I've always like jdm, old supra manual tranmsission in particular, from the day I got my license. But recently after getting into a NA V8 and hearing that monster roar, I just couldn't. Though someday I probably get back into turbos, intercoolers, BOV, big ass exhaust tips when V8s disappear, but that'll probably be when I'm with God by then 😅! Good review though RR! 😎👍
It's been almost a year since I bought my 2022 Supra. I already spent over $20K in mods. I'm super happy with it. There's no way I would replace it with a S650 Mustang
It's funny how the GR Supra has all the fake vents and then you have the GR Corolla that has functional vents. You'd think they'd go the extra mile to either remove some of them or make them functional considering every year they've made some sort of improvement. Although, that's just a small nitpick I have. I love the rest of the car though and the manual is very much appreciated.
Another great review. I love the Supra in this color and the manual is what I was waiting for. Overall the Mustang is a bigger and heavier car. I like the smaller proportions of the Supra better. The exhaust does sound great from the outside. Why do car manufacturers continue to give us this artificial engine sound through the speakers? The speakers should be for music only. If they insist on piping in this sound they should give us the option to turn it off. I am so glad my 2019 Type R was made before Honda started to do the fake engine noise as well. Speaking of things I hate in modern cars, does this Supra have start/stop? If it does, combined with that fake sound, those might be deal breakers for me. Again, great job Team Raiti!

I don’t think there’s much of a debate anymore. That is a Toyota shell with a BMW engine. And that’s a good thing. That B58 engine is a world class straight 6. By BMW BTW so this is a good thing. Toyota did the right thing. If you can’t beat ‘em, join em and that’s exactly what they did

I love these cars. I want to get one. The biggest thing that bothers me is that I work for BMW, and interior wise I see everything they took from left over old BMW and stuck it inside. The seat setting buttons, radio controls, turn signals, etc are all from like 2017 BMW.
I have an M4 and a Toyota Supra MT and I’d take the MT Supra over the M4 all day long. It’s a drivers car and I want to be in control of every aspect. I don’t feel in control of the M4 nearly as much as my Supra because of the incredible MT gearbox designed ground up by Toyotas incredible engineers. I love my M4 don’t get me wrong but the Supra takes the win for me regardless of the rear seats as they aren’t very useable anyway. If your debating there’s nothing like the MT experience of the Supra IMO long term the Supra MT specifically will hold its value over nearly any BMW auto/mt. I’m not a Bimmer fan boy and am trying to come at this with no bias at all as I had never owned either car prior. All that said you do you for me as an owner of both MT Supra ftw hands down! It’s going to be a legacy auto to own! Bimmers all look the same essentially to me and I see them everywhere how many MT Supras do you see otr case settled there for me alone it’s the nostalgia and will be a legendary icon long term!

It's an EXCELLENT hot daily driver. Provided you like that extremely curvaceous (bulbous?) look. Someone I know has a new one with the same setup. Absolutely raves about it. Says it handles brilliantly in our local mountains. Is it worth it? It's definitely better than a Mustang GT. But not that GT 350 Shelby!!!😉

Save the manuals and have been driving 20 years. I can parallel park despite not practicing it often and know how to check blind spots and use situational awareness for when a car is in my blind spot.
I went from a manual 2015 roush supercharged, tuned 650whp Mustang to a A91 edition 21 Supra I like the supra in the turns but my Mustang in the straights mmm.. close 4th and 5th were insane in the Mustang
I have a 21 edge st with the 2.7tt it's a great daily but the Trans never seams to know what it's doing, I was thinking of trading the supra and edge for a 22 golf r .. what do you think about the new r better then the 19?
It has the interior of a sedan. When did car interiors get so flat and boring? It looks outdated already. Look at the newest Mazda Miata, that's how you do a nice interior.
@Layne the only way a stock Supra is going to win in a straight line is against a manual 6 speed Mustang Del. The 10 speeds are faster. I actually own these cars. What do you drive?

But what I love about it is I only needed to throw a tune from over my phone onto my supra with a downpipe and I gained about 80hp and 100tq and now it's bye bye!!! And I was Sooooo tired of seeing mustangs EVERYWHERE when I had one and now with the Supra it's a real head Turner at least in my area. And not to mention the supra is a much better built car and much better materials inside the cabin, then again it should be for close to 60k.
I just ordered a '24 Mustang GT because they sold it to me at MSRP instead of every Toyota dealer I talked to asking for 15K over on Supras. It was always between the two.

Raiti gotta get your facts straight. Mustang is rated for 410tq @ crank. Supra dynos 405tq at the wheels (manual.) Bigger part is the rpm it makes peak tq. Supra is 3-3500rpm. Mustang peak tq is around 4500rpm. Supra feels fast because it makes really good tq numbers and is lighter.
Great review, the 6 speed is a must have in my opinion. I think we can forgive for being BMW. BMW and automatic was just not right. Glad they made it right. :)

This or the Nismo Z would be a closer compare. Still the Supra wins because of the adaptive ride, the Nismo is way to harsh as a daily with no adaptive ride.

I actually wouldn't compare the Mustang to the Supra. The Mustang is a muscle car and the Supra is a sports car. It's just a different type of 2 door.

If it's consuming oil out of the factory, you know it's truly BMW made
oil consumption was really only an issue on a specific run of '21 model years.
Mine is a 2022 model while my brother's is a 2020 model. Both have never had any issues. So far, they've been a delight to drive!

Save the manuals and have been driving 20 years. I can parallel park despite not practicing it often and know how to check blind spots and use situational awareness for when a car is in my blind spot.

I went from a manual 2015 roush supercharged, tuned 650whp Mustang to a A91 edition 21 Supra I like the supra in the turns but my Mustang in the straights mmm.. close 4th and 5th were insane in the Mustang

I have a 21 edge st with the 2.7tt it's a great daily but the Trans never seams to know what it's doing, I was thinking of trading the supra and edge for a 22 golf r .. what do you think about the new r better then the 19?
DP, tune, flex fuel on your Supra and you'll the straights more😂
It has the interior of a sedan. When did car interiors get so flat and boring? It looks outdated already. Look at the newest Mazda Miata, that's how you do a nice interior.
Love the manual! Appreciate the review and the Supra looks great. That said, you lost me on the 5.0 GT comparison...I'll take the 460 HP all day.
I sold my roush s550 for my supra and I can tell you the supra is the better car and against a regular 5.0 not supercharged the supra wins everytime.
The Supra is definitely a better car over the standard current generation GT. This coming from a guy that sold his GT350, for a BMW M5.
@Jr. I have a 21 10-speed Mustang GT stock, and I am faster than the stock Supras in my area.
@Layne the only way a stock Supra is going to win in a straight line is against a manual 6 speed Mustang Del. The 10 speeds are faster. I actually own these cars. What do you drive?
@@tyarnold4088 maybe you do but it's a very close race with a little 6cyl and a single turbo!! But what I love about it is I only needed to throw a tune from over my phone onto my supra with a downpipe and I gained about 80hp and 100tq and now it's bye bye!!! And I was Sooooo tired of seeing mustangs EVERYWHERE when I had one and now with the Supra it's a real head Turner at least in my area. And not to mention the supra is a much better built car and much better materials inside the cabin, then again it should be for close to 60k.

I just ordered a '24 Mustang GT because they sold it to me at MSRP instead of every Toyota dealer I talked to asking for 15K over on Supras. It was always between the two.

Raiti gotta get your facts straight. Mustang is rated for 410tq @ crank. Supra dynos 405tq at the wheels (manual.) Bigger part is the rpm it makes peak tq. Supra is 3-3500rpm. Mustang peak tq is around 4500rpm. Supra feels fast because it makes really good tq numbers and is lighter.
I am going my OEM numbers.
Supra will be will outlive most of these rwd coupes; i remember when you were so firm on the nissan Z. The internet remembers

This or the Nismo Z would be a closer compare. Still the Supra wins because of the adaptive ride, the Nismo is way to harsh as a daily with no adaptive ride.
