    What a great opening to a video. Straight to the point acceleration! You really impressed me with how much info you knew on this car. I like your reviewing style, just slamming out facts quickly and onto the next feature. That contrasting interior is just what the cabin needs. It makes it way more interesting. Beautiful color on the exterior. Do yourself a favor and try to drive an ZF automatic. It’s a way quicker car and changes the personality a bit, but I would love to have the manual too!
    I subscribed today! Good job.

      Thank you so much! I’ll have to remember to do that more often, especially when a car deserves that kind of introduction like this one! I really appreciate you noticing the amount of info as well. I did MANY hours of research for this video, but clearly it was worth it. I just hope I didn’t make the video too long that people won’t want to watch a 25 minute video with all of these facts. I felt like they were all pertinent things to keep in the video though, so I’m glad you appreciated it!
      And isn’t that an awesome color? I thought this car was striking overall. I would love to get my hands on a ZF! My colleague at Toyota Of Dartmouth, Dan (The Toyota Man) has been trying to line one up for me for years now. When the owner of the dealership bought this car, he said that we have to make this one happen no matter what, so we did! Maybe if he can get his hands on a ZF for me, we can just take it for a blast around town and I’ll do a shortened review (no longer than 10 mins) and just mainly focus on the transmission.
      And thank you so much for subscribing! I really appreciate it. Take care, and have a great day! -Mark

      Thank you so much! I really appreciate that. Yeah, unfortunately it seems that it is very hard for me to get a significant amount of subscribers quickly. I'm not trying to brag, but you aren't the first person to say that either, lol. I blame it on the fact that I don't post nearly as much as I want and should be. In the past, I typically post an average of 1 main video every month or so, and just recently I have been trying to post shorts at least a few times a week. My goal is to be posting 1 main video every week or more with a short every other day to fill in. I will say though, I have noticed that the more often I post, I get more attention, so I just need to keep working really hard and post as many videos as possible. I have also had one video recently that absolutely BLEW UP which really helped drive more people to my channel.
      That really means a lot to me though my friend! It's nice to hear that from people, truly. It certainly makes me want to keep pushing and follow my dreams with this channel! Take care, and have a great day! -Mark

      That makes sense though. Even though $40k isn’t a bad base price, that is a lot of money for a second car that sits all winter lol. It’s a cool car even in the base trim, however the lack of a 6MT option would steer me away completely. Makes perfect sense why most people would just go with a BRZ/GR86 if they wanted a manual instead. Where you going to go with an 8-speed automatic either way? Just curious!

    Very well researched review! You packed in virtually every detail that could be had after a day or 2 worth of other YT videos. Worth a download. I think since you put this out they put the stock MT Supra on a dyno and it's putting over 400HP to the wheels. Completely underrated by BMW. Then you combine that with it's light weight and it punches way out of its price class. Cheers! I hope you make lots of children.

On top of that, I know that these cars DRAMATICALLY wake up when you throw a few simple mods on them including an air intake, exhaust, and a tune. If I had one of these, and I didn’t care about the warranty, that’s one of the first things that I would do. I bet it would be easily making over 500 WHP if not more at that point. @@xanderc4732 I can definitely see your point! Makes sense when you think about it with certain cars. These companies don’t make huge money on these very limited production, cool and expensive sports cars. They make money on the cheaper mass sellers. For me personally though, they would’ve had to make the 4-cylinder Supra A LOT cheaper than the 6-cylinder model for it to be worth it IMO. If it weren’t big enough of a difference, like I said in the video, I would just go with a BRZ/AE86/FRS instead. I certainly get your point regarding cars like the Lancer though. With that scenario, it makes perfect sense. They have a 4-door Econo-box version, and then they also have all the way up to the Evolution MR (which was one of the most fun cars I’ve driven yet)

    • @DoubleClutchAutoReviews
      @DoubleClutchAutoReviews  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So I totally get your reasoning as to why you would think that. If it's a manual, it obviously couldn't downshift or upshift as needed. However, the 2022 Civic SI for instance, does in fact come with adaptive cruise control in it's 6-speed manual transmission. Other car viewers have also reported they love how it works. Although, I'm sure that if the car in front of you slowed down too much, the car would either automatically shut it off and make you downshift, or the engine could bog to the point of stalling. Nonetheless, yes there are manual cars that can come with ACC. I have not tried ACC in a manual car yet though. Only in a few automatic cars. Hope that helps explain it!

    I have the Dynamic Cruise on my Camry and my Corolla Hybrid and love it. Works much better on the Corolla though. I was suprised to not have it on my Supra since its on my options sheet. Apparently it is deleted in all manuals, not just the A91-MT. (per my dealer).

    • @DoubleClutchAutoReviews
      @DoubleClutchAutoReviews  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Isn’t that crazy that apparently they don’t come with it, even though it says it in the spec sheet? I get it, mistakes happen, but I checked it multiple times throughout my research for this video, and no one has caught it yet. You would think that Toyota is a big enough company to have someone constantly checking in and updating their website right? Lol
      Also, it’s very funny you mention that, because I have also reviewed and driven both a brand new Camry and a brand new Corolla! I actually found that the dynamic cruise control worked better in the Camry XSE, rather than the Corolla SE (not sure if the Apex had it or not). I certainly haven’t played with it as much as you have though. However, I did drive the Camry back from Miami to Fort Lauderdale in rush-hour traffic and I have to give Toyota’s dynamic cruise control ALL of the praise it deserves. It was an absolute lifesaver. Literally didn’t make me feel like I was stressed or exhausted at all sitting in stop and go traffic! I just sat there, paid the slightest bit of attention to make sure I didn’t rear end someone if it failed, and I just relaxed! Truly a game changer. I was surprised about that as well, but they did catch it on my Monroney.
      My Camry and Corolla Hybrids are both 2020s. I think that the 2020 Corolla, being a clean sheet redo, got the good stuff before the Camry line. in 2020, the Camry could not be set below 28, but would go below 28 when following, it just didn't always return to speed after it slowed down. The Corolla is perfect to zero and back.

    I have a regular (not A91-MT) 2023 manual. I can't find the hairpin + mode. Is that only offered on the A91? My dealer staff know less about it than I do and the owners manual doesn't even explain the 3 mode recirc system, much less the traction / stability control systems.

    • @DoubleClutchAutoReviews
      @DoubleClutchAutoReviews  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So, apparently ALL 2023 Supras come with Hairpin+ mode. And I apologize, but to be perfectly honest, I had a limited amount of time with this one, and I didn’t figure out how to put it into Hairpin+ mode either. I just knew it came with it. The only modes I switched between were from normal to sport. What’s extra crazy is that I’m pretty sure this A91 edition was a pre-production model that the owner of the dealership bought for himself before they even hit the shelves! That’s why the door cards are different colors on either door! Lol because of that, I feel like I also had a difficult time just trying to turn off rev matching, let alone finding Hairpin+. I never ended up figuring out how to turn of rev matching, so I figured trying to find Hairpin+ on this specific car was futile for the amount of time I had.
      It really is unfortunate though that a lot of these salesman at the dealership know less than the owners, or just enthusiasts in general. A lot of the time, they’re just salesman, not real car guys/gals unfortunately. I would say your best bet is to make an appointment to go back to the dealership and insist that you want a full breakdown of every single thing the car does, and what buttons to push to make it happen. If that doesn’t work, I would try to find specific videos on TH-cam showing you how to go into Hairpin+ mode. I did some quick research trying to find a specific video for you, but I couldn’t find anything that shows you exactly how to go into Hairpin+ specifically.

Remember in certain video games where if you wanted to use a cheat code, but they didn’t have a cheat code menu page, so you just had to push a whole bunch of random buttons in a certain order and hope you got it right to unlock it? @@DoubleClutchAutoReviews I own an A91-MT as well, and just wanted to comment to let you know the passenger door panel being black instead of Cognac is a design feature to make the cabin seem more 'driver focused'. The Supras with the red interior have the same thing, the only way around it is to order a door panel from the EU or any RHD market and ship it over. You can also disable the rev matching when you enter sport mode, I can't recall the verbiage on the screen but there is an option there to uncheck that box.

    • @DoubleClutchAutoReviews
      @DoubleClutchAutoReviews  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rgolding22 Very interesting! Thank you for letting me know. To be perfectly honest, I don’t think the mismatched door panels had the intended effect they were going for. It just makes it seem like they screwed up on the assembly line, rather than making it driver focused. That’s just my opinion though. For instance, I just recently reviewed a C8 Corvette, and that driver cockpit is 100% driver focused, and it was certainly intended to be that way. 😅
      As far as the auto rev-matching goes, if my memory isn’t failing me, I believe that I actually ended up going through all of the menus and finding that option to uncheck it. However, for some reason on this specific car, it didn’t work for me. Maybe it reset itself after I switched through the drive mode? I wasn’t entirely sure, but I didn’t want to dwell on it, so I just brushed it off and dealt with it.
      I will say though, I’m honestly not a fan of it at all. I guess it’s convenient if you want to be lazy, and not just blip the throttle on a downshift? IMHO though, if you’re too lazy to rev-match, why even bother getting a manual? You should just get the 8-speed automatic instead. Just my two cents!
      I also had the finance manager of the dealership in the car with me who was cool enough to convince the owner of the dealership, who is also the owner of this car to let me review it and give it a thorough spirited test drive. 😄 In the moment, I just figured I would mention the auto rev-matching once, but then just continue to have fun and drive the car. He was kind of on a time crunch, and I didn’t want to take up more of his time fiddling around with the car.

    • @DoubleClutchAutoReviews
      @DoubleClutchAutoReviews  หลายเดือนก่อน

      So I am right about 6’ (just shorter than you) and I fit with zero issues at all. Not to sound weird, but I think my body is overall pretty well proportioned though. For instance, if you have super long legs that give you your height, you may have more trouble getting comfortable finding somewhere to put your dancers’ legs. Otherwise, if you are also well proportioned, I don’t see you having any issues fitting in this car either.
      I will say that the visibility wasn’t great though. However, I feel like anybody would have that problem in general no matter how tall you are just based on the roofline/side profile design

    ACC in a manual car doesn't make too much sense, Porsche does the same. I owned a 2022 manual golf R with ACC, it doesn't really work nicely if the traffic is slightly busy. After all, it can't up/down shift right?
    I own this exact Supra A91 edition, soooo muuuuch fun. Much better than new gen M2 and Z

    • @DoubleClutchAutoReviews
      @DoubleClutchAutoReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a very fair point that you make. To be honest though, I feel like I would still want it either way. But, ONLY IF the option is the same cost for the MT as the automatic counterpart. In the Golf R, would it deactivate and have you have to reactivate it every time you shifted gears? Or, would it still stay on into the next gear change as long as the RPMs were within range?
      If I ever buy an AT car, I would want ACC hands-down, no questions asked. It was an absolute game changer in the 2022 Camry XSE driving from Miami to Fort Lauderdale in rush-hour traffic. It truly made an otherwise annoying and slightly stressful situation relaxing and not that big of a deal.
      And good for you my friend! I feel like you are very lucky to have gotten your hands on one of these! Just out of curiosity (and please don’t answer if you don’t feel comfortable) but what country are you in, when did you buy it, and how much did you pay?
      I have heard mixed reviews about the new Z. I’ve heard that it isn’t necessarily bad, but it also isn’t as great as the hype made it up to be unfortunately. However, I have heard nothing but good things about the M2. I am actually going to be reviewing one with an auto, full bolt ons, and a tune making around 430 WHP soon! Stay tuned to the channel if you would like to see that one coming up!
      Nonetheless, enjoy your awesome A91, and thank you so much for checking out my video on it! I could totally understand that! For me, I like the looks of both. The aspects that would truly matter to me regarding those two cars are the power and the price. I still think the new Supra was very fun to drive and still really cool in its own right. This specific one is also very rare, which adds extra cool factor. However, I think you make a very valid point if you don’t necessarily care about the rarity of the A91-6MT or the wow factor of “Is that a Supra?!?” and what not.

Two of my biggest components when buying a vehicle for myself is bang for your buck overall as well as power/fun factor, so I totally hear you! I just also wanted to point out why someone might want the Supra over a Vette even if they didn’t mind the higher cost and less horsepower. Just food for thought and the sake of playing devils advocate! And that sounds like an awesome ride man. The front and rear of the car don't look good. The front has a 3 opening look that is awkward, I would join all those openings into one and remove the Pontiac nose from the old 69 Firebird. The rear has a molded giant ducktail that looks bad. I would shave that off and put a wing spoiler on.

    • @DoubleClutchAutoReviews
      @DoubleClutchAutoReviews  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I hear your point. Beauty is in fact in the eye of the beholder, right? I personally think this is a very sharp, good looking car overall. Sure, some angles are better than others though. However, I am picturing what you are saying, and I can see certain body kits/front bumpers also looking pretty good, but in a different way on the MK5. I looked some up that you might find interesting. If you want, check out the Robot Craftsman "Alerion" Narrow Body Front Bumper & Lip, as well as the JDC Carbon Front Bumper. The first one has more "wide open” look, almost reminded me of an Huracan. The second one has more fans splitting the "mouth "up a little bit more giving it a lot of dimension. I like the look of both of these for different reasons. Give them a quick Google search, and let me know what you think!
      As far as the ducktail spoiler goes, yes. I agree with you that the MK5 looks significantly better with a nice wing on it! Something like the Seibon TB-Style or MB-Style Carbon Fiber Wing would be my choice. I'm not so sure about shaving anything off though… That sounds like a lot of extra work that I wouldn't want to do lol. Let me know what you think!

      Hi! Yes, I did do my homework, thank you very much. I was aware of both of those things! First off, just because the sound is piped in with speakers into the interior, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t sound good. Also, I was well aware of how it sounded from the outside as well, which certainly isn’t piped through ANY speakers!
      Secondly, I was rattling off what the horsepower was rated at. However, I am well aware that these engines are very easily woken up with some simple tuning and intake/exhaust work. Please don’t think that I did not do my research! 😁

      Yes, some people have them pushing close to 600 whp with stock internals without a problem.
      The one thing is the current model year seems to have oil consumption issues so checking oil levels is vital to avoid damaging this engine. Otherwise no major problems but then again the car hasn't been out for relatively long.
      It will never live up to the 2jz but it's still a decent engine. I would worry more about the eletrical problems in this car.

Only difference Ive seen so far from the 23 compared to the others is of course the M/T and improved handling and wheels. On a side note, you can open most of the fake vents up, just not the side door garnish as its just held on by 3 screws and clips.
