Very entertaining video Harry - provided a really good laugh whilst still going through another lockdown here on the eastern seaboard of Australia. You did well in the "heat" - yes if you're not used to warm temperatures it can be very tough. But it's all relative of course - your view of what constitutes "hot" is very different from what is considered "hot" in Oz. A temperature of 29C. makes for a very pleasant run - when it gets into the high 30s or low 40s then it begins to get a bit tough. On the flip side any temperature below 15C is considered cold and not very nice at all - so all kudos to you guys for getting out there in the snow. Bottom line is it's fabulous running in all conditions & after 55 years of running I'm grateful to still be able to get out. Thanks again for a great vid.
Great TH-cam (or real) name James! Wonderful to know someone in Australia is watching. Yes, in Australia I imagine runners would consider this nothing. I spent 6 months running down under and found myself much more adapted to the heat, now anything over 25 feels pretty damn warm. Cheers James
Peter, just watched you sing Maria - if anyone has a good voice it's you! What a beautiful performance. Well done sir. Are you based in the Netherlands or just for that performance?
@@thisisjogon thank you sir..! i'm not quite a youtube hit, i'll leave that to you, i sing here there and everywhere, mostly in opera houses, originally from Wiltshire and based in Vienna...pretty good running over here - keep up the great work Harry!!!
Great video , that was a brutal 10km , I was the BTR runner with you for most of it , 40.42 for me , I then ran 40.05 in race 3 , much nicer conditions 👍🏻
Hey @Harry - I'm the guy who finished just ahead of you on this occasion (Hart Road Runners), appearing to stagger at 7:23 of the video .. that was a brutal day! I hope you managed to break 40min in a later race. I managed to go sub 38:xx (PB) in Race 3 :)
It's great when people are able to comment and identify themselves on here - well done on a great run it was so hot - and bravo on an even better performance in Race 3 See you on the start line again soon
I've been enjoying your channel after having subscribed recently, so I'm very happy to see my hometown featured! I actually live in the US now (Austin TX) & every day this summer it's been between 36-42°C. Bordering on plain dangerous, you gotta pick when you run very carefully. Next time I get back home I'll have to see what local park runs are on and challenge you to a race
Ah nice to see Yateley, great video and a cracking race. Sad to not be able to make it this year but traveling the world in the van is a fairly decent excuse!
Here in the Philippines, they keep on saying run with a carbon plated shoes if you want to get good time. But runners here finishing 39 mins, while you are running on a non carbon plated shoe and almost run a sub 40. It's not on the shoes but its on the runners fitness level. shoe just helps a little. Great video dude.
I have a massive soft spot for the Yateley runs. 2021's race 1 was my first ever race, having started running in the 2020 lockdown. I think 7-8 is always hard, as it's out in the sticks. 2021's race 2 was stupidly hot too, but the family with water pistols provided welcome relief then, too.
Hottest day of the year and in the back ground of the shots still some have decided it's leggings weather This always surprises me, as much as the postman in shorts when it's Baltic Top effort, as others have said cooler temps will see your time start with a 3
I did a 10k on that day last year in Coventry, in the evening. I'd done my first ever 10k race in Chester on the Sunday before in 30°c heat then this, it was a killer!!! well done!
@@thisisjogon love the channel, helps keep me motivated and pushing to do better. Currently trying to break the 23 min mark for the 5k but injured. Got a 10k in a few weeks at an aerodrome which should be a chance to break my 49min pb but that's not happening! Keep up the amazing videos and, it would be awesome if you could check outy channel, I do videos on folk tales, and my mates channel The Jogger Blogger where we do silly running challenges and show some of our running adventures. There's even that scorching hot 10k in Coventry on there!
Running a 10k in the heat in England crazy! Here I Australia we have a 5, 10 half marathon coming up at the end of the year where the heat gets into the mid 35 to 40 degrees
Great run Harry. We did race 3 and after watching the video I’m pretty relieved we did! I just snuck under 40 mins but there is no way I could have done so at race 2! Give it another go at the Fleet 10k?
Fleet 10K may be a great shout Matthew - thank you for watching, I sort of wish I could have had some race 3 conditions to knock some seconds out! Well done on your time Harry
Brilliant effort there Harry! A few degrees cooler, and that sub-40 is all yours!
It's approaching
Well done. When I ran in Frome there were many residents hosing the runners which helped alot.
Thanks Mark, hope you're well
Nice one Harry. Nice one Joe. As ever, entertaining and encouraging. Thank you. Looking forward to your next dash against the GPS watch.
Cheers David. Joe - what a runner

Fantastic Harry. A tremendous run on such a hot day. Thank you for the great videos, it’s so inspiring to watch them.
It’s inspiring that you watch them Charmian - I hope all is well with you

Stumbled across this channel just watching a few videos about parkrun. These videos are really well made, subscribed!

Excellent time Harry, especially considering how hot it was. Sub 40 on a cooler day, definitely on 👍
Thanks Chris, I'll drop you a message on Instagram
Fantastic Run Harry, what a great time for such a hot day! 🥵 I plan on going under 42 minutes by the end of the year.

Cheers from Brasil, Rio de Janeiro. Listening 29°C is a hot day is quite funny here lol nice run!
Thank you 🧡☀️
I love the Yateley 10K. Did my 10K PB on race three, 8 mins faster than the sweatfest that was race two! The last hill seems to go on forever though!
Simon, don't even get me started on that last hill it was hideous. Well done on your time, I'm hoping for cooler conditions next race! Cheers Simon
Fantastic effort Harry, particularly in that heat. Looked a decent course too.
Just great to be racing Chris, hope you're good.

Yeah it’s a really tough run in the heat when you’re going for it. Long live Yateley 10K
Well done everyone running in this heat

29°C is hot until you come to Utah, United States and the average for the summer is 35°C to 38°C🥵
Crazy
Enjoyed that👍
Brilliant run mate 👍
Appreciate you commenting on this one Paul - feels like some time ago now!
Class run. 35th out of 524! I love how modest you are about your running!
Cheers for watching Jack
Great run especially considering the heat 👍

I think a Jog on vest is needed for next year :) Good dual perspective race.
It's in the pipeline Alex
great effort under el scorchio lol
Tell me about it
Great job Harry, just wondering what type of watch do you use to track your running?
I use a Garmin Forerunner 35. Garmin (not a sponsor) just sent me a 265 so I’ll be testing that next
Did my fastest ever 10km on this course back in the mid 80s. Just under 37 minutes but it wasn't nearly as hot as it was on the day that you ran.
Awesome David, amazing to know it’s history as well. A course with character, and yes - it was rather crazy how hot this day was.
You needed a vest Harry :)
I needed an ambulance
“One of the hottest days of the year…”
*converts 29c to 84f*
*Proceeds to cackle in Floridian*
This is a great comment
Harry you need a running visor, it gives you the shade for your face but lets the heat escape from your head, trust an Australian.
We brought out the JOG ON running cap a year ago which uses a mesh for heat loss, it’s been great
How do you have the energy to run fast *and* be super funny?
It was more delirium from the heat Rachael
Tired just watching 🔥🥵
It hurt, a lot. Thanks for watching 🏃♂️
Winter running in australia
Absolutely
