Since I don't watch television this is the only weather forecast I get, and it's the best. I like how you tie-in all of the different variables of rain, snow, sun, skiing, and surfing altogether. Plus your stories add a human element that all others out there are missing. Like you, I have fond memories of hunting and fishing with my father.
Thanks Bill. I was able to ride in the fourth seat in a Jumbo up to Seattle in ‘83 ( can’t do that anymore) in Aug. Could see the “ 7 Sisters “ Lassen up to Rainier all at the same time! Beautiful greenery, snow-capped then there was St. Helen’s , looked like the surface of the moon. Never will forget that awesome sight
Yeah, I've read the Brewer book and was impressed by how he hiked up to all the peaks. Especially when he went to the top of Mt. Chual and back down from New Almaden on the same day.
There's a channel called Forecast lab by Tim Vasques, and he uses live cams to show clouds and other conditions including a trucker who steams live. Former Air force meteorologist.
@@2Meteorologist He's very technical. Draws maps, teaches, writes books and comp programs, so he tries to explain thing for those who want to learn. Most of it is over my head, but I try to understand. Was thinking of getting into it out of High School, but looked at a book and then thought nope.
Funny story I remember from the book was he was going to name Mt. Hamilton after his boss Whitney. Whitney said no naming peaks after me. I'm still alive. Then finally after he died he did get a mountain with his name. Hamilton was a reverend in San Jose.
catching you late today Bill. 41 in BonnyDoon right now, probably going to drop another degree or two. I believe this mountain, Battle mountain or Ben Lomand mountain has energy that i feel. maybe because of a little bit of Chickasaw blood in my heritage.
