It's used to refer to the absence of many spouses or significant others on the opening weekend of deer hunting season.
It opens up a lot of opportunities for those of us willingly left behind.
One, was to attend church online.

Any, I’m a 40 year old father husband who runs our small family owned heavy equipment company and I’m also a combat veteran and a firefighter her in rural northwest Montana. I watch your videos every week because you remind me SO my mother. I’ve always been a momma boy…she was my person. Unfortunately she had a major stroke in 2019. My dad is a severe alcoholic, so for all intents and purposes I have no parents and it’s a struggle. I think that’s why I watch your videos. I loved the video you did riding with Chet in the combine because it very much reminded me of time my mother and I spent together. I also enjoy watching you and Doug. Thank you for being a kind, sweet, intelligent woman. You are appreciated by many that you don’t even know and will probably never meet. Be well!

Yes it is hard to stay focused I am the first to admit. Holidays are a hard time for many of us. The Prince of Peace came for us. Help us, Lord, to keep our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Those are definitely Appleton names! I am sitting here trying to figure out first names. ☺️
Surrendering is so hard !! But so necessary as believers. I am so thankful God is patient with us and promises to never let us go even in our struggles of surrendering all things unto him. 🩵

Love your video, Amy. It takes a wise Woman to understand the importance of the hunt in a Man's life, even if the hunt is not up your alley, you realize that it is important to the one you love.

The Sunset is beautiful there and getting better and better as you are talking . I love the message you are sending,
I giggled out loud when the lake was set "on fire" by the clouds' reflection as you were speaking. It was like God was saying, " You tell 'em, little Amy! I'll help you keep everyone's attention as you are sharing." I loved the questions you shared in this message. Your question about how we relate to "toxic people" struck my heart. I just finished two books by Dr. Henry Cloud that may shed more light on this for you (and others?). The books are "Boundaries" and "Necessary Endings." I don't agree with everything Dr. Cloud shared but his comments helped me hear God's words on the subject more clearly. PS: My husband and I were dairy farmers for 25 years. Our hearts go out to Chet and Dougo and the guys as they battle the mud. We are praying you all through. Godspeed.

So crazy that your Sunday message was on the cost and breakdown of the culture/mindset! I taught or church Sunday school yesterday, I was talking about faith and unconditional trust! Imagine being one of the disciples and Jesus whom you don’t know personally walks up to you and says follow me! Crazy the faith and trust they had! How many of us would pack up and go without goodbyes or getting affairs in order? So my challenge to myself and others is to strive to be more like Jesus and the disciples! To spend more time seeking his words and hearing his voice than we spend on our devices!
