Super video Amy and Dougo. Looking at that beaver dam was super interesting. That is a big dam. To construct a dam that size it would be a large beaver family. Have worked with beaver before. Amazing what they can build. Their beaver house is usually not far from their dam. Dougo you are right, you have to take down that dam or it will cause big problems in the area. Oh my. Was most interesting.

Great channel and content Amy. Keeping up with Dougo I can imagine is a never ending task just as it was back in high school when you two were dating. Couldn't ask for a better pod for two peas in a pod. Dougo, those damn beavers just don't quit or learn, I remember back in the day "early to mid 80s", we fought the same issue on our big drainage ditches and we fought them with sticks of dynamite which back in the day, we could do that, not now days though but anyways there is a legal way to blow dams up and its through the use of legally bought and mixed TANERITE. 30 pounds of that on a beaver dam and no more dam or beavers. That would be a good episode for Eric.

Neighbor agreed to set traps in our creek after the darn beavers flooded one of fields three times. He ended up getting 4 and the biggest one weighed 68 pounds. Those corn fed ones get big.

You two certainly create an enjoyable relationship to watch! We constantly deal with beavers building dams in our drainage district ditches. They really enjoy using the the giant ragweed which can be plentiful along the banks. Only way to get rid of them is having someone trap them.

Haha, so fun to listen to the banter back and forth between Doug and Amy. This one reminds me of my youth when I'd accompany my father (a MN game warden) when he would have to blow beaver dams with explosives. Beaver are unbelievably destructive but back in the day, he'd get local trappers to exterminate the beaver before he would blow a dam because if he didn't, the dam would be back in place a day or two later.

Recall the TV show, "Leave it to Beaver". Then of course, we still have some people known as "eager beavers". One fellow I know worked on a farm. One beaver tried to gnaw on his tractor tires. The beaver must have been possessed. Your videos are interesting. There are some channels on TH-cam that show beaver dams being blown apart. Canada owes it being settled because of the beaver.

They knocked down multiple trees in our creek system with their teeth and also built one or two of their beaver huts the. village of Park Forest had to clean the mess up were a S suburb of Chicago
