Ford Focus mk 2 Stuck Fuel Lid

I was about to fill up a nearly empty fuel tank but I couldn't get the lid open. I tried locking and unlocking the doors, starting engine. Nothing worked. Went to local Ford dealer and big suck of breath and I would have to book it in. So I took it home and fixed it

After mine stuck on a Mk2 ST, I found that keeping a little outward pressure on the fuel cap when pressing the unlock button on the key, would release it. Eventually that stopped working too. Great video, I'll be trying this shortly.

Do these cars not have emergency manual openers in the boot.

Great question Bobby. The Ford Dealership/garage didn’t know/mention of one and I looked in the boot before starting the work because I had seen a post about it being there on some models. But not this one.
And thinking about it, there was nothing in the mechanism once I got it off the car which would have allowed that
