    Schnitzel is Austrian!!! The Germans like to put "Tunke" (Sauce) on the Schnitzels, which is an absolute no-go in Austria... and the traditional Schnitzel is also made from Veal, but you get Chicken, Turkey and Pork versions. And oh boy, you can mess it up if you don't do it right... believe me.

    Wiener schnitzel is Austrian from Vienna It means Viennese schnitzel and the authentic one is made from veal. There are other schnitzels made from chicken, turkey and pork, but the ones made from pork are called Schnitzel Wiener Art. (Viennese style )

    Fun sidenote regarding kangaroos: I’m from Austria and there’s a story about some kangaroos that escaped out of a zoo and couldn’t be caught… so there’s a slight chance of a wild kangaroo herd still living somewhere in an Austrian forest 😂 so yes… we might have kangaroos

    Just to cool down your taste palate, this type of so called "veal sausage" is actually a regular pork sausage and usually contains a very small percentage of veal or beef. They commonly add to them some milk powder so they look more white and not so pinky like pork and they are very smooth. But that's basically it. Also it's got a lot of fat and it's not lean. But since it's been grinded/minced so finely you can't taste any fat! But enjoy it !! One thing you don't want to know is how the sausage is made!!!!

    02:28 no, veal meat is not greasy, it's very lean, and is often used for schnitzel and cordon bleu, veal goulash is also very tasty, because veal is extremely tender meat, it's no wonder, veal is the cow's child... and the fried potatoes are normally fried in olive oil, salt and rosemary ....
    06:30 the difference to austria and germany, in austria the original wiener schnitzel is made from veal, in germany you get it mainly from pork, in my childhood in austria where i grew up there were schnitzel like cordon bleu only from veal, pork came later , because the price is simply cheaper.

    • @kinetickennons

    • @julinbahlmann613
      @julinbahlmann613 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kinetickennons I think It's a big stretch to say that the French/Austrian brought it to Mexico during the reign of Maximilian in Mexico... But then again, who knows?
      We have a lot of migrants in Mexico at the end of the 19th C. Someone had to bring it. We have a lot of people descended from Italians in Mexico, the most numerous after French migrants.
      And you can see how all these countries where you are share borders and are tied by history. Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Northern Italy are closely tied historically-- Schnitzel, Cotoletta. The French have "Escalope." So all these are possible sources for the Latin American Milanesa.

    The original wiener schnitzel is from Italy, but we Austrian made it to our own and made it better. And besides Germans put sauce on everything, even on schnitzel! Why fry something crispy and put sauce on it. (Eweww ) and also: Vienna had the first zoo in the world and still has the oldest and also the first coffee house in Europe. Thanks to the Turks and their multi mal tries to conquer Vienna. Also Austrian tab water is the best, u can also drink from the lakes, if u want.

Then I lucked out and found a Brew Pub/Sport bar with Texas “style” Bar-B-Que and was happy. It was weird to see signs at every table saying that due to an order from the Police, they could not broadcast sports on their TVs. A bit uptight for me.

    "Wiener Schnitzel" is austrian and made from veal. It is very thin and large. In Germany, you normally get a "Schnitzel Wiener Art" or Schnitzel, vienna style or simply "Schweineschnitzel" pork schnitzel, which is made from pork and by far not so thin. Schnitzel should be fried in a pan with 0.5 cm of oil and not made in a deep fryer. Recipe is easy: beat the meat thin and dip it into flour, then egg and then bread crumps. You can season the meat beforehand with salt and pepper or season the egg.

      In Austria you also may have the option for veal or pork, sometimes turkey for the Schnitzel. In Germany they sometimes dunk the poor Schnitzel into some kind of brown sauce 😞. A good Schnitzel (Wiener or Wiener Art) doesn't need any sauce.
