Here's also a fun fact, Emperor Napoleon is actually immortalized in the United States Capitol along with 23 others from ancient to semi modern history who are people who "Built the principles on which America is based on" because we were allies and he sold us all of France's North American holdings and helped America begin trading with other Europeans. Which should go to show that even though to most of Europe he was a villain here in America he's actually viewed pretty positively. And even to this day many of the people who have direct blood ties to Napoleon are actually in America, not France.

I'm a teenage boy, I skipped Rome and USSR and went straight to Pthia.
Honestly I think the whole French reputation for decapitating kings is pretty much a testimony to the power of enthusiasm/going overboard. 'Cause if you think about it, we only executed one king which we'd made sure to demote to a simple citizen called Louis Capet, while the English also executed one of theirs (while he was still king) and also created a republic. But we get cast as the bloodthirsty revolutionaries because we made sure to replace him with a republic that had a lasting impact (looking at you, Commonwealth) and we also accompanied that with executing a lot of people to mark the occasion.
Moral of the story: kids, if you want to make an execution of an important figure memorable, execute a whole lot of other people with them! Yeah, that's a good moral that will definitely not inspire any bad actions later on.
The idea of beheading is most likely a warning for those who want to become the next King of France.
